The purpose behind this channel is to show that vehicle repairs, maintenance, and other trades can be done by anyone. I have no mechanical experience, so most of my knowledge is from a little research and learning on the go. I want to be able to encourage other people that have little mechanical experience to start working on their vehicles, get into automotives, and other DIY projects. It's never too late to learn or try something for the first time.

Thanks for the vid! Is there any adjustment for cutting blade gap for initial setup and future sharpening/wear?
Cylinder 1 looks like it had blown rings. Feom what I've read when it's clean on the butter ring of the top of the piston it means bad or worn rings.
28:02 use a 2 1/4” 29:53 to 2 1/2” deep well socket to tap in the tail seal. Blocks of wood seems cumbersome.
Wow! That house is looking great! Love the porches!!
not catching it in a cart? free mulch for the yard.
Oi comprei um
Where do you buy new blades for this machine?
would you choose a recommened oil
How long does it run on a tank of fuel
too bad the discharge shoot doesn't swivel
Are You going to do any actual work on this?
What are the bell housing bolt sizes for the 01 5.2
What did it do before you had to do a valve spring my car started bucking at me then got a p011 crank shaft sensor and it did not work was trying to get thoughts on my jetta
Do you have a link for the replacement shocks?
Great communication & & demonstrated appreciation Thanks
The video is great, you need to keep promoting your channel. Is not hard.
NOPE you dont need a slide hammer you can pry it easily from the inside if you just follow the proper oder of operation when working witht e 46 RE 48 as well
Ya youre doing it ALL wrong though. FIRST you take off the speed sensor, shift linkages and the reverse sensor, then you remove the overdrive before you ever remove the pan. You dont take out eh valve body until you do those operations.
Just bought one! Thanks for sharing your thoughts 😎
I have the older version of that with an electric start but no trailer hitch. I’m currently thinking about adding one. One weakness in mine is the hinges are on the top instead of the side and since you move it around by the handle on the input chute it puts a lot of stress on those hinges. Mine finally broke so I had to weld on new ones. Mine also uses smaller blades and can only handle 4” branches.
Great job sr cuestión? Don’t have to do an alignment right ? Thanks!!
Planetary gear set
Hi there, great video. Any chance you still have and are interested in selling the tools needed for this repair. The locking tool is no longer available on Amazon. Thanks
Nice video
Well, you did assemble the unit but actually gave pretty much no details. 1. The tires are directional. There is a left side and a right, and you can mount wrong. (The arrow-like tread pattern faces towards the hitch, also a directional arrow on the inside Of the tire). 2. Tire mounting: The off set axel is to be mounted so it is under the box steel tube. 3. Relocate the Stand Foot holes to the holes closest to the Mounting holes on the hitch receiver FIRST before mounting on the Unit body. 4. After Stand - mount the hitch bar FIRST, before the discharge shoot. This makes maneuvering the Unit so much easier. 5. Tip - gasket for discharge shoot will move around while trying to hold the shoot & get a bolt started. *small smears off any kind of grease or silicon or other on the Unit then gasket on top and it “sticks” in place. You still have to be careful but it really helps. 6. Although not asked for - apply bearing grease or other grease on the pins and the pin receivers before assembling the intake shoot. It protects the Metal to metal contact, the grease also will take-up any space between pins and receivers to prevent an accumulation of dust, debris. fyi fun facts, Tips - washers have a front and back, smooth side goes against frame/body, not smooth is for the Nut. Tip - there will be some rusted washers - Replace them with new better washers. Rusted washers will continue to rust and spread that rust to adjacent parts! Other than above - great vid Tks!
Thanks a ton for sharing! I reviewed a few videos before attempting the job, glad I went with yours. Awesome tips. Another diy under my belt. 240,040 miles and going! TY!!
I just hope I can do this fixing... Informative video...
My 46re has been acting up its cold can drive it for a few mile then drops in neutral have to turn it off and back on works for a few minutes then does it again
Sounds like it's low on fluid. Put the parking brake on, shift into neutral, and let it idle for about a minute. Then check your fluid levels while the engine is running.
Hard up for some information that’s usable. Does anybody know if a 1998 46RE is a straight up replacement for a 1996 Ram 46RE far as wiring ???! Thanks for any help I’m reading the only 97 is fully compatible with 96 online and I’m not getting a straight answer. Nice video by the way.
Should be fine. Just remember to check the Neutral Safety Switch. I had to do a rebuild instead of a simple swap, all because I pulled a junkyard transmission with the wrong NSS port. Everything else is interchangeable tho.
Thanks for your information. I was able to put mine together while following your video. I was able to assemble it alone. The toughest part was picking the front end up while trying to get the stand on the front. I was able to slide a floor jack between the tires and jacked the front end up easily. Small detail about the tires. The manual shows the tires both ways. However if you look closely you will see optimal rotation arrow on the tires. Not a big deal but you and I did install them correctly. Good job, and thanks again.
I do alot of European vehicles and I use identifix for repair info I also use matco 4.0 for diagnostics and I own a professional mechanic shop and rarely use you tube for anything because you either get shadetree type explanations or videos that don't explain to much not needed info or don't explain needed info...you sir did a good job with everything on this video and i would love to see more jobs you have done especially European cars...great detailed video...professional work ethic...would love to see more from you and I'm doing a 2013 vw beetle 2.5 this week and I am thankful I found your awesome performance video ...if you ever come to alvin texas and are looking for a job come see all things automotive
Your so lucky you can share this with Dad!
Thinking about doing this job soon on my 05. Could you or someone explain how I would do it with a presser tool? I would have to have that short socket to push the cap out into right ?
What about the rear set
I have the same engine- it’s idling rough and has had 1-2 misfires. The codes point to what is normally a camshaft adjuster magnet- so I suspect this is what I’ll have to end up doing. Probably the best video I’ve seen showing how to do this. For a moment, I thought I could do it, now I know better lol.
When I was removing my oil pump to do the seal, the front set of clutches fell out of place. Is there any way I can get those back in without pulling the whole transmission? I'm about ready to sell this thing
Question, I have a 04 Tacoma crew cab and I’m looking to replace the front spring/strut complete setup. What setup/parts did you use? 4Runner set?
Good choice I got the same unit last year It's a beast, I now have a mountain of excellent mulch for the gardens. It shredded everything I put in it
Theres a super good indepth tear down of the 46RE by the Transmisson Bench. His videos are amazing.
YUP!
What area are you guys located my 08 volkswagen Jetta needs help baddddddd....
Where y'all located? I need this done!
To align the cams with the tool which way do they lock against the tool. Do can shaft lobes rest against the tool on the inside or out side.. I could tell.
Very helpful THANK YOU VERY MUCH for making this video.. Do I need to out the 2013 vw jetta she 2.5 in time before I pull the head for gasket replacement? My concern is the cams coming out of position. I'm thinking get it TDC mark my gears connecting to timing chain for repositioning after ward. I did order the timing kit so I took your advice thank you VERY MUCH!
It's great that it didn't bend any valves. I did a little research because I'm considering buy one and I read that this is an interference engine. Really like how you bought special attention to locking the crank in and the coolant tube removal.
Very helpful video. I just replaced a valve spring cylinder 2 exhaust valve. I didn’t put the motor in time before I got started. Really dumb in hindsight. But anyway I did the same thing you did the first time put cylinder 1 at TDC then lined up cams. It ran like crap. Going to do the job again tomorrow hopefully the right way this time
If I can't get enough force on the pry bar to get the bolt in then I will put a rachet strap on it to pull it down. Rachet straps are very handy. I used one to pull my transmission jack with the transmission on it from the front of my Trailblazer to under it, because I had cardboard down for me to lay on and the jack would not roll over it easily when loaded down.
How much miles do you have now
Can u link the proper tools in the description or in the comments please

I just save a 150 bucks...
Thanks great video
