  • Here I fill the canvas with black paint, pour some blue paints in a way to create a bottom and then blow on the paint.
    Everything used shown in the beginning of the video.

    That is exceptional. I one tried something similar using red, yellow and orange on a black background to make flames. After seeing this, I'm inspired to make another much larger one. Thanks for the series.

    What a lovely painting. It looks like a wall of blue flames.
    If this was repeated using red and orange it would be a great wall of blazing flames.
    I love your work.
    Thank you for sharing your talents.

    Finally took the plunge yesterday and bought a bunch of acrylics, I've been wanting to do some pours for some time now. Came across your channel yesterday afternoon when I was looking for tips on how to mix and whatnot and I am floored by your videos. Extremely helpful for this first-time painter.
    Thanks for the extremely helpful videos, and keep up the fantastic work!

    That thicker black is so glossy I thought the reflected ceiling & water nozzle were part of the painting and I thought: "Wow! She is *really* mixing it up this time!" 😎 I would have been cool it really had been, but I'm liking how it turned out. I haven't been a big fan of the straw-action in the past, but now I'm thinking of giving it a whirl. 😍 Can't wait to see more! 💗

    I see dancing ladies across the top of the blue and it's gorgeous! Another one I'm going to take inspiration from for my students!

    Turned out awesome!! I have done a few paintings using an air gun to move my colors around and very happy with the results. I prefer this method if done the right way. Oh by the way, you might want to use a hair dryer unless your looking for a work out of your lungs! Hahaha :)

    • @MelyDartist
      @MelyDartist  7 років тому

      Alex Hartmann haha thanks! And for the blow dryer, it's not precise and since this was a small one I would have ruined it ;) but it would work on a bigger canvas and with a different idea in mind.

    Hey there, love what you do. All your pieces come out so rad. Ive been experimenting with the whole paint pouring technique and keep finding that the finished product loses its luster and I'm not sure if its the paint I'm using the mixing ratio I'm using..I'm not sure I just know your peices always keep the glossy prettyness so any suggestions you may have would be awesome. Thanks for all the videos thus far! I look forward to the next!!

    • @MelyDartist
      @MelyDartist  7 років тому +1

      Hey Ann, my paintings in the videos are wet so that's why they look glossy. When the paint dries it turns matte and this is normal. That's why I tell people at the end that they can check out the dried result on my social media. I give it a varnish which brings out the colors and gives a little shine but it's nothing like what wet paint looks like. Hope this helps a bit!

  • @livegivelearn
    @livegivelearn 7 років тому +2

    MelyD, this turned out very pretty. I'm glad it didn't move much. Do you think that's because your black was thicker? When did you pour the silver? I watched the video a few times and didn't see it.

    • @MelyDartist
      @MelyDartist  7 років тому +1

      I added the silver into the black directly. I believe it stayed in place because of the Craftsmart white that I used. It's so thick. It dried exactly like in the video and with a bit of thickness to it instead of smoothing out like my other paintings. Lesson learned. That paint is not good for fluid painting but aids in this type of style where you don't want the paint to move at all after you are done.
