That's good for him. I'm impressed. It gives peeps like Gardiner, Van Niekerk, Fred Kerley, Kirani james and others something to gun for. All good stuff.
Other than kerley, all those other guys have won olympic and world championship gold. Gardiner hasn't won yet but he has been very significant on the global stage. So nah, they don't need to shoot for him. They've been there done that. It's about more than just running fast times during seasonal meets. It's about what you do at the end of a championship year when you put your country on your back. That's when you will be remembered. Everyone thought shacarri richardson would take over the world after she ran 10.75 or whatever it was. Everyone pretty much gave her the 2019 wc gold medal after that. Everyone thought she would take over shelley anne fraser price. People were saying that safp, who happens to be one of the top 5 greatest most accomplished/decorated sprinters of all time, should actually be worried about this 19 yr old youngster. Sadly for shacarri, she fell completely off the map after that NCAA meet. Their time will come, it just wasn't in the season in which they were running their fastest times.
@@jamiegreen8065 What in the world are you talking about, dude? You're all over the place, from the 400m dudes to ShaCarri to SAFP. LOL. Are you a yardie, or something? Let's be real. Only people who didn't know how grueling a collegiate tracks season can be would never appreciate what Shacarri did. She ran all season and went pro and tried to go up against the big guns and she misfired. Simple as that. Will she be back? Most likely. Will she beat SAFP? Maybe and most likely. Who really knows? No one. Just time and preparation will tell.
@@dmvbay2535 I gave shacarri as an example of how running a fast time during the season, doesn't really mean much or it doesn't have any affect on competing against olympic-proven athletes. This video is from the 2019 season. A season in which Norman did not even make the WC final. And my correction, Gardiner did win the WC and Kerley third. So to my point, a season in which he ran 43.45, he didn't even make the WC final.

You're right. That 400 run is painful. In high school I once ran part of a 4x 400. For the first 200 I was in the lead and looking good. Then it HAPPENED. As we said back then I caught RIG. My body shut down and my legs almost ceased to exist. One by one every other runner in the race passed me by. I vowed right then and there to never run a 400 again. That was back in 1965 when it was still called 440 yards.
Thanks Crayvon for your analytics. It's good to see a world-class sprinter doing videos of his fellow runners & competitors! My question for you is: Do you plan to make the 100 or 200 squad for the Tokyo Olympics this year? Seems like last summer was your last activity on the track but I havent noticed anything lately.
