Freia has grown up. She is a responaible girl. Wow!! She probably doesn't realize how blessed she is to have a mom to teach her! ❤ I loved your walk to church! My dad was a pastor & he served little country churches! So, brought back memories!! Love all your stuff!!! 💕
Freida is such a young lady, what a treasure. That one plant you were questioning looks like a weed we use to pull out of the garden. Love seeing all your plants. Thanks for taking us along.
Kate! Such a great video! Freja has become a greater helper! Goat cheese! I’d love to see a video telling us a why/why not to keep a milk cow and dairy goats cause that may be my situation. 😂
I love dad baby wearing too! My husband loves baby wearing our daughters. Pretty sure he wears them more than me 😂 we always get comments about how sweet it is to see and how our generation’s dads are so different. Not my dad thought lol I was a complete daddy’s girl so he was always the one holding me
That big plant is lambs quarter. It’s a “garden weed” and will go everywhere if you let the seeds spread. Can cook and eat it like spinach and chickens love it too!
Hello Kate!!! Loved watching this video! So much going on at your house all the time. Reminded me of when my husband and I were younger. Freya is already so accomplished with her goats. She is adorable! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful life with us!!!❤
We started school this week but don't have all our curriculum yet so its a soft start, just picked our cauliflower and I need to can it this weekend, leaves are starting to turn yellow and its getting a little chilly in the mornings.
You might see if those perennial sunflowers are tuberous and edible, OR actually Jerusalem artichokes. They can be a bit invasive in the south...but were a good food source for my family foraging. Up in Wa state they stayed contained and were a bear to dig tubers in glacial clay we had. But not too difficult in sandy Texas ditches.
Beautiful video! Do you, by chance, have a video on herbs? I am looking for a good source on their uses and how to make tinctures and/or teas? Ideas if you do not offer a video?
Not everyone will understand my excitement in this thrift find but I know you will, Kate… I found a real rabbit fur lined girls hat (that covers the ears and buckles under the chin) thrifted for $3!!!!!!!!!!!
Is that goat cheese called 'chevre?' I see people talking about 'chevre' on 'Learn to Make Cheese,' which I am new to! Freia seems wise beyond her years! Love when she is involved.
I just did some reading and found it’s also good for infected skin and a couple kids have minor skin infections right now from cut so I’m off to make some tea to wash them with! Thank you 🙏
@@VenisonforDinner i would have to pull out my medicinals manual. I think multiple parts. It’s been awhile since I had any planted. Evidently, rabbits really like it. I use a lot of chamomile, echinacea, and calendula. Although, chipmunks decimated my chamomile this year. My garden has had a rough year so far because of varmits; but we have eaten a lot of rabbit thks week.
Freya is so talented and learning with such a beautiful attitude. It is lovely to see her involved.
I completely agree!
Marius holding the baby, walking to church with church bells ringing. That made my day.
Terrific video.
Does my heart good to read your words.

Awww freya is amazing ❤
She’s an amazing young lady 🙏❤️
Love seeing these young children helping and learning things in the kitchen. Great job!
Thank you!

Thanks for joining us here!
Also, the perennial sunflowers spread mostly by roots. Gophers ate all mine though...
Oh good to know! Darn gophers!
I feel so much better! My kitchen, dining room, etc are random chaos this time of year too! Good chaos but so many don't understand...
Glad I made you feel better! Definitely a good chaos but it's true only those who do the work understand how involved the whole house becomes!!
Hi Kate long time viewer, love your channel and all that you share! I think that mystery plant is mugwort in its flowering form. Cheers!
Thanks for joining us here! And for helping us with mystery plant!
Sending you love and positivity. ❤
What a beautiful view to be blessed with ❤

That is awesome!
Can you freeze dry the clabber culture to stabilise it? Freya is a cute Jr. homesteader. 💟
I don't think it would make it work like a freeze dried culture.
That big plant is lambs quarter. It’s a “garden weed” and will go everywhere if you let the seeds spread. Can cook and eat it like spinach and chickens love it too!
Well that is good to know!!
Great video Kate ❤❤
Glad you liked it!!

Love watching the cheese process!!
August is definitely Chaos in the Kitchen month.
TOTAL CHAOS! You know it.

Autumns in the air....

I’d be interested to see how you harvest the marshmallow-I also planted some this year and have no idea what to do with it.
Stay tuned!

I do have info on this in my insiders club- sign ups are open a few times a year.
Where do you get mesophilic culture in that large of a container? That looks way more handy than those silly little packets I buy.
From Glengarry Dairy!
That unidentified plant may be St. John's Wort. Love your channel.
Thank you!

Wow!! That is an excellent score!
Is that goat cheese called 'chevre?' I see people talking about 'chevre' on 'Learn to Make Cheese,' which I am new to! Freia seems wise beyond her years! Love when she is involved.
Yes! That is what she's making here.
Yes, as Erica said, it's called Chèvre. That's so sweet of you to say about Freja.
Where did you get the perennial sunflowers. They sound very interesting!
Perennial plant sale.
Lol….I call newly purchased chicks “new genetics” as well.
Speedwell is a nice medicinal. Good for alleviating upper respiratory congestion.
Thanks for this tip. I planted speed well because I love the color purp!e. But I have asthma, so I am going to research this. Thanks.
Right on i didnt know that! Which part of the plant is best utilized?

Can you send links for your goat cheese culture! Please!
I think it’s a mesophyllic, can't remember which one…most work.
Where you did order the Bresse chicks ?
Tevah acres
@@VenisonforDinner Thanks AB 🇨🇦
Ah, buy once, cry once...you will have that milking container forever.
Hahahah love that!
