I would like to see a combination glass carving and painted piece. I do like this finished look with just the paint, but would be interested to see a well thought out design that didn't take away from the painted design.

Hey Kelly, if you go to my website (csgw.com) then go to the "interior decor" page, you can see a bonsai tree that I carved in the glass and then my wife painted. The background is surface etched with clear lines making the graphic. You might like it. Thanks!

@@cornerstone-glassworks they’re big art programs, like tv, but on UA-cam. They interview artists that want to be interviewed, and basically you talk about your interests, and why you do it, etc. many people actually get recognized from it a lot.

Good day, great video. I'm curious as to how you attach the plywood to the back to hang them

Hello Super, I use a dbl. sided transparent foam tape from 3M's, VHB series (Very High Bond). It will stick well to the painted glass. On the plywood, I paint contact cement in the areas where the foam tape will touch so I know I get a positive bond to the dry porous plywood. I hope that helps. Thanks, John

Hey Super Man, I'm sorry that I overlooked your message. I just dropped the ball. In case it still matters, here's the answer to your question. I use a very effective 2 way foam tape from 3M called Transparent Foam Tape. It's part of their VHB series (Very High Bond). They have different thicknesses and widths. I buy it from R.S. Hughs Company in Dallas, Texas. (214-351-2300). Now, to prepare my surfaces for the tape. The glass (painted) is smooth enough for the tape to stick. But the wood is not. So I paint the wood with contact cement (the flammable kind - not the "safe" stuff) where I know the tape is going to go. I let that dry. Now the transparent foam tape will stick fabulously. That's it. Let me know if you have any more questions. John

It would be really cool if now you cut those pieces into ☯️ yin and yang, maybe put them together on a backer board and fill in gaps with resin.
Just some more ideas. You do amazing work. Thanks for the video’s

Which printer do you use to print your stencils? I bought the kit to make the stencils but I still need a printer.

Hey Connie, I am a fan of Epson when it comes to printing black transparencies. Of course, when it is coupled with Ikonics' AccuBlack clear printing film.
Epson does not have settings for clear film in their printers. However, with the correct settings, Epson gives me the best home-made film positives I have gotten from a printer.
When you refer to a "kit", are you talking about the UV exposure lamp, the wash out nozzle and the light sensitive film? So you just need to get your film-positives in line?
      Let me know. Ciao

@@cornerstone-glassworks yes I just need a printer now that doesn’t cost the earthen to buy or to run and I was thinking I should go with an Epson but which one is the big question. You said you got the best print from yours so I hoping you could give me a make and model sorta speak and I could check them out from this side of the ditch. I haven’t tried any of the stuff yet. I am hoping to very soon. But I have to start with a printer I think.

@@Wyrmwood66 Hey Connie, I have had 4 or maybe 5 Epson printers and they all seemed to perform well for the purpose we are considering. A couple I have now are part of the XP (Expression) series. And one is a WorkForce wide format printer. While we are talking about Epson printers, I would highly recommend an XP machine that will print CD's and DVD's as well. It is so nice to be able to print professional looking discs. It doesn't add much to the cost either. BTW, Connie.......as we have been communicating and working on getting you started with this process, you may contact me directly through my website ( csgw.com ) if you like rather than having to channel your way on UA-cam. Either way is fine with me. Good luck!

@@Wyrmwood66 Hello Connie, I have been working with CorelDraw for 20 years or more now for my graphics. I started with version 4 and am currently on version 15. But they are up to 20 or higher now. I will say that version 15 has been a little glitchier than 4 or 8. It's a little pricey but powerful software. Comes with a lot of good stuff on it. Well, I hope that helps. See ya!
