These Lost Chronicles type stories are more of what I crave from the comics. I love MMPR like a lot of people. But some of us want all the other seasons to get more love and appreciation because the brand has a lot more to offer. I have all these in trade paperback but I’m definitely upgrading to this.
There was a recent Kickstarter for a new Power Rangers Pink, written by Amy Jo Johnson. That campaign included a standard hardcover with both Pink series. I’m guessing they’re planning to release those as a deluxe in the future.
Late to comment, but just wanted to say thanks for the spotlight on this one. I really need to get in gear, and start stocking the shelves with these collected editions.
Glad you enjoyed them without having seen the shows - the ones I've read (the Time Force and In Space ones) are pretty much straight-up sequels to the shows, so it's good to hear they're readable even without that context. I'm not sure if I enjoyed any of the stories enough to buy them physically, but those deluxe editions do look good on the shelf...
Most of the Deluxe books by Boom are slightly larger than the DC/Marvel Deluxe/Omnibus. Look at ONCE & FUTURE, or SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN or KLAUS, et al.
I was going to pass on this but the stories actually look good. Also to have the different ranger forms of Tommy in a comic is cool. I turned my son into a Power Rangers fan through the classic shows and books. Plus Time Force is one of our favorite ranger series to watch. Great overview my brother.
The Tommy one is the best one story on here. The master morpher originated here and they used it in Franks last (I believe) appearance. There is also a mention of his son with Kat in the Netflix special. Already have the softcovers of these but I went ahead and backed it on the Kickstarter and am now waiting for the books to ship. Already have the digital versions of this and rhe Lost Chronicles, the collection of the previous Power Rangers comics. The Power Rangers Pink is coming out in hardcover. There was a Kickstarter that happened for Amy Jo's PR book The Return an retelling of the MMPR story.
I will note that the 2017 movie rangers are KINDA represented in Shattered Grid, in that a ranger from that universe was in the video game adaptation of the event, Battle for the Grid. Specifically, the blue ranger from that version of Zordon’s ORIGINAL pre-historic team. So you can count that if you want
If you are a fan of Power Rangers, these stories are great for you, especially if you are familiar with the series/seasons that set up these stories. VS the Turtles? It's based upon preferences. The OGNs collected in this collected edition tend to focus on more mature themes than the original seasons. Well worth it, though!
FYI, Soul of Dragon and Aftershock are NOT canon to the mainline Power Ranger comics. The other two, we have no confirmation whatsoever, and as long as it doesn't contradict the rest, they may as well be. Edit, as for Pink, Amy Jo Johnson is writing a new Kimberly comic (also non-canon), it's yet to be released, but I wouldn't find it weird if they put this new comic along with Pink in a hardover.
Cause these stories aren’t canon. That’s why the movie comic is in there. Boom just wants everything power rangers in deluxe format so they put all the non canon stuff together.
How do ADULTS actually read these and consider it to be good? I’ve unfortunately read the majority of these boom studios deluxe releases and they all suck. Childish as hell. Super bad writing, no real character development, just really really bad stuff. For the life of me, I don’t get it.

YUP. Need this. I haven't read the material collected in this vol but if its anything like the other Boom Studios stuff, I'm gonna love it.
Love this series by Boom. They look great on the shelf and they have excellent artwork and fun stories. Highly recommended.
I love this cover. I need to upgrade to this deluxe soon.

Love the spine, hoping for a blue or black spine in the next deluxe edition since most of them rn are red or green.

Glad to help!

I love the look of these books and want to own them physically at some point I do have the pdf of this I got from the kickstart campaign for the books

Thank you!
I have the TPBs but in buying this. I hope they've fixed their binding issues. I've had 3 of my Ranger omnis binding come undone and pages come out
What happened to masterworks announcements 😢
Csn someone explain how are the stories comparable to tmnt stories? Are these more ya thing vs tmnt

Both are great for different reasons.
Super random question, but you have Kallax shelves right? I’m just asking because I can’t fit all my MMPR/GGPR books on one shelf like yours.

Really strange they didn't include the pink ranger trade

It's weird because pink ranger was in the same universe as the other books but mmpr aftershock wasn't @@SavedByTheNerds

Im 45 and find them enjoyable. But I also love Carl Barks Duck comics and Tin Tin and so much manga. To each their own.
