    Today is a good day…it’s all quiet for months and then out of the blue, the man, the myth, the legend…drops 2 videos. Welcome back Deano. Hope to see you camping again soon 👍🏻

      Haha thanks for watching Paul. It's been a very busy year of adventure so I've got a little behind with my editing. Did a month of camping in Kyrgyzstan with work in the Tian Shan Mountains, one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. I've got that video to come soon. Still been heading out camping in the Peaks and Derbyshire but doing it without the camera. All the best 👍

      Yeah he’s grown so quickly, this is probably the longest run he’s done but it’s totally impossible to tire him out 😂 I really do need to get around to sorting my music out and releasing it as a little EP on streaming platforms. The issue is that I never class them as finished, I should get over it and just do it.

      Haha 😂 I'm not that crazy. Never say never though, maybe full summer Spine first. I can deal with bad weather, it's just the lack of daylight hours. I take my hat off to anyone who toes the start line for the full winter Spine, without doubt the most brutal race in the UK.

    Over the last few years now you've been doing the running etc, would you say you feel a noticeable difference in your fitness than when you used to do the videos before? Like more capable.

    • @DeanRead
      @DeanRead  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for watching 👍 100%, I feel fitter now than ever before in my life. I used to consider myself reasonably fit when I did a lot of hiking but when I attempted to start running I soon realised I wasn’t. For me personally it felt like a huge fitness leap to go from walking the trails to running them. It took some time to build it up and there were lots of moments were I hated running 😂 Trail Running has changed my life, quite literally as it lead to a career change. I still love wild camping and hiking though. Are you a runner yourself or tempted to give it a go?

    • @changethetimes
      @changethetimes Рік тому +1

      @@DeanRead well, I'm more built for battle than for speed, boxing changed me from a big big man into something more flexible but slow rather than running.
      I've followed you on most socials for about 7 years now, and come with you on all your journeys :)
      I'm 38 now and considering upping Peak District adventures, but also considering dropping more weight.. I absolutely hate running.. I despise it.. But David Goggins would tell you that is exactly the reason you should.. I was just wondering really if it made a massive difference to you, and clearly it has :)

    • @DeanRead
      @DeanRead  Рік тому +1

      @roadtothehunt I could do with a bit of Goggins motivation myself at the moment, I’m having a break and not running as much as I was, just sticking to social runs with the running club and being lazy (catching up with house DIY and campervan building) at the weekends. I’ve considered boxing and have found a great club near me, just need to bite the bullet and go. What did you find boxing training helped with the most?
      Also, thanks for following the adventures, some have been unhappy with the lack of camping content but life evolves and interests change.

    • @changethetimes
      @changethetimes Рік тому

      @@DeanRead bah, it's your channel and your interests if people like your personality they'll stick around, plus you've filmed literally HUNDREDS of hours on camping and hiking.. Your back catalog is always available to them.
      Boxing changed everything, I dropped 3 stone from the intense exercise and a good diet, I sacked off all drinking for 3 months and I was a new man, from 19 stone lardy to 15 stone built (not ripped) but healthier than ever.
      Its been ups and downs since then, but even if you never have any intention of fighting, just a good exercise and pad work will beast you fitter, plus I'd bet you coupled with your running, you'll level up to a new level of fitness.
      I go to a proper spit n sawdust gym in Nottingham called Rebels Gym, no frills and they do the white collar for Nottingham, I know youre a Chesterfield chap but if you ever want an intro to it I can organise that for you wouldn't cost you anything.
      If not, I'm certain there are just as many places between our locations that will serve you.
      Either way, it's a sure fire level up.. Guaranteed :)
