How to Replace Front Door Subs on Lexus GX470

Finally got around to replacing the subwoofers in my front doors that seem to be blown in every GX470. I didn't want to spend hundreds of $$ on the sub-par oem speakers so, after some research, I came up with this solution. I have been running these in my car for a few weeks now and have had 0 issues and the sound quality is phenomenal.

I just purchased these speakers for my 2005 GX470 I have not installed them yet so I checked UA-cam to see if there was A video and came across your video. Thanks for sharing this information. I didn't think you could use the stock plastic speaker mount so I went ahead and purchased the $15 adapters from Amazon. I'm glad you are happy with sound, I have heard of people using the DS18 Pro 8ohm speaker for this with great results, so I was debating returning the power base for DS18. The DS18 is listed as A full midrange and Power Base is listed as a woofer. I am hoping to get A bit more cleaner punch. But after hearing that you are satisfied with the performance of PB 6X9 woofer I am keeping them. Thank you again!

I used the DS18's at first and am not happy at all with them, they really do only produce midrange, and they just aren't pleasing to my ears.

Or... you can get OEM from the junk yard for $5 each for the ML system. Great video though...
