Just to clarify things... The voice actor who gives voice to Mask is Miguel Caballero. Who is a Mexican born actor.
Miguel also did voice work for the game "Saint's Row".

Mask de Smith is an awesome character, and he has a chicano accent (chicano being mexican-american) Which is awesome and unique because I would never expect a japanese gamemaker to include that certain ethnicity. Then again Suda51 is the Alfred Hitchcock of gaming and is always pulling surprises.

@Nyphu I love how ambiguous the "Do you remember those golden days in Calgary?" line is - I like to think that one possible interpretation is that Travis was a professional wrestler in Calgary that wore a mask with Santa Destroy's flag on it, and that's the mask that he keeps finding before boss fights.

^^^ "Smith" is a surname that all the Killer 7 share. Including Coyote Smith, who is also Hispanic.
BTW, the actor that voices Mask De Smith is a Mexican (yes, Mexican) actor.

He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and was a pro-wrestler, not a Mexican wrestler. So he may or may not be Hispanic. Also, some Hispanic people don't have an accent, so there's that possibility as well.

Now that I think about it, I think Suda did it unpurpose to make him seem like the gentle person that he was said to be because of his idea of children, but why his name is hispanic, I don't know. Maybe cause he lucha libre wrestler and decided to have his name be hispanic for some reason.

Yeah, that was a mistake on my fault. He could be completely Hispanic, but if he was raised in America in a place with no people with a spanish dialect, he would have a complete American accent.

The character is meant to be American, probably. I don't think that having a foreign 'nickname' makes it necessary for the person to still have their original accent. Or maybe the people who cast his voice actor are just silly.
