This is still a classic scene even after all these years. RIP Joe Lala, the voice of Kun Lan, who gave a stellar performance in this game. In the name of Harman . . .
@@samuelhayden542 If you've played Killer7, you may have noticed some strange screaming in Garcian's trailer house. When you get to the end of the game, you find out what's been making those noises and where they're coming from--is that where you got the idea of "weird laughing from the attic"?
Forever a classic. It has just that right sense of “tense showdown between eternal rivals” mixed with “old friends meeting up after a long time apart”...and that shot of Kun *catching* Harman’s bullet and riding it up to the skyscraper? _Godly._ Well, may the Lord smile...
I first played this back when it came out. I didn't get what I was supposed to do, and I stopped halfway through the first mission. I called it crap and was right there with the other naysayers. Then, curiosity really got the better of me and I tried it again a few days later. I finished the level and got to this cutscene. That line from Kun, along with the dismissive handwave, really sold me for some reason. I was on board for the rest of it, and to this day, Killer7 remains my favorite Gamecube game. Just finished another playthrough last night. It's not for everyone, but as they say, if you get it, you get it!
@@crimsondynamo615 I absolutely love David Lynch, but I don’t think he’d understand game direction. The way Suda directs is “gameplay mechanics are tied to story.” That’s why the other personalities are able to be brought back to life by Garcian and why you get a game over if you die playing as Garcian. It’s also why the game is on-rails; you find out you have no say or free-will until you find out the truth. That’s also why the only decision you’re able to make in the game is after you find out the truth. You’re no longer bound to a government or group.
I love how one of Harman and Kun’s powers is being able to hear each other while they’re barely speaking above a whisper standing hundreds of feet away from each other.
It always feels like I'm stuck in a dream every time I see this game. But as soon as I look away, I remind myself I'm awake. Maybe I should look at the PC version. Feel what it's like to dream again. Besides, unfortunately, Kun Lan is right. The world *has* gotten smaller.
And this is just ONE reason as to why this is one of my all-time favorite games... *My god, it's so magnificent and quotable! And those chillingly AMAZING voice performances! Truly a Magnum Opus!*
Easy to miss but the reason why they laughed so hard at Harman's 'lame' pun about Kun Lan being a 'bad player' wasn't necessarily because Kun Lan was a bad CHESS player but was playing the part of the villain. Hence he was a "bad" person playing chess. The Chess match is just a visualization of the battle between good and evil. In Killer7, the Killer7 are good and the Heaven Smiles are evil. The reason why Harman says you're 'awake from your dream' is because Kun Lan, during their battle before Killer7 won the previous 'chess' match. In the ending of Killer7, Harman says "You're awake from your nightmare' because Harman and the Killer7 defeated Kun Lan at the end.
Playing this game for the first time. When I saw this scene my jaw dropped when this dude flew. I thought the "anime wing girl" boss fight was odd. This was even better. Will come back to this comment when I am done with this game.
I slowed it down to catch it. I was seeking answers too. When you shoot his right hand, which he anticipated, he dodges the hit and catches the bullet with his left to launch all the way to the top of the other building.
You know, the fact they're both mortal enemies and best friends. That's fuckin' yin and yang.
they remind me of Professor X and Magneto
I think when you live as long as these two, and you've been fighting all that time, you might as well try killing eachother as friends

If only JFK could pull this maneuver!
He just flies out of the car holding the bullet, leaving Jacqueline horrified and he just stares at Lee while mockingly holding the bullet.

Same reason i decided to play it, best decision i made in a long fucking time
Ah, the voice acting in this game always gives me goosebumps. 10/10 masterpiece
Yeah why is it so good. It's a little too spot on. The voice actors know what's going on a bit too well ...
God this game looks so fucking dope.

Suda would be a godly director
His games would make bad movies.
