Resonator Delete on 2006 Ford Fusion SE V6

- So this isn't really the norm in my videos but here is a clip of my 2006 Ford Fusion before and after I had the resonator removed.
Now you may not notice a huge difference, but there is one there. I'm going to in the upcoming weeks be buying two Flowmasters Super 40's and installing them to give my V6 a very good sound. The reason I had the resonator removed before is because I was going to remove it regardless and thought I mine as well do it now and see how it sounds. It has a deeper, throatier sound to it but it still isn't enough. I want it to idle louder.
I made this to show someone who has a Fusion or any car of that matter what they can expect to hear when the resonator is removed from their car.

Thanks for the vid. Gonna remove my mazda6 resonator now (same engine)
i have a 2007 ford fusion and i did the same about 3 weeks ago and i can hear a big difference in the sound when i hit gas
There's a bunch of clips on you tube with fusions with magnaflows without resonators. With the resonator and mag combo it sounds almost stock. I myself did the stock muffler with resonator removal cause I hate the drone associated with aftermarket mufflers. Resonator doesn't do much, just reducing the noise. It's a straight pipe with perforations in it. Just like a glass pack.
great great great sound my dude, in the next 2 months im looking to get me one of those right there, but i preferred the SEL V6 though, i hate that cloth shit
I have a fusion v6. I'm going to have y resonators removed. I love that sound
is it loud in the cabin? any gross buzzing or bad sounds inside?
thank you though video really helpful!
What do you think of back preasure.
Does this have the 3.5?
any effect on MPG's?
Already have me mufflers gone on my fusion probably gonna do this also tho
hi do you still have this car?
I actually noticed a slight increase but I can't prove it was from removing the resonator. But it was only like .5mpg
So if I remove the resonator from a Aston Martin v12. It’s gonna sound like a Ford Fusion?
Caleb Ring In short yes it will
Anyone got any good mod ideas for a Ford Fusion 2010 se
Did you do it yourself or have a shop do it?
That's nice. I just installed a magnaflow muffler can I remove the resonator and keep the muffler? Idk the deal with backpressure and all that
I realize this comment is from 6 years ago and you likely dont even have the car anymore but still, you dont need back pressure at all, you actually want scavenging which is where the air flows out the exhaust fast enough to pull new exhaust gasses out of the engine. Thats why all cars that are built for racing have straight pipes that are regularly sized, to get the exhaust gasses away from the engine as fast as possible. Thats why cars with highly restrictive exhausts such as late 70’s v8’s make much more power with some exhaust and intake work.
Sounds better!
sounds like a lion growling
Before being very educated on this topic i sawed off my mufflers today so now i just have a y pipe. What exactly is the resonator. I plan on looking into removing that if it will increase my volume/ torque
I like
I'm 16 rn and I'm getting my license next summer. My first car is going to be my mom's 2008 ford fusion sel v6. I want it to be as loud as possible. I will for sure remove the muffler, but will removing the resonator also make it any louder? Also I want it to have engine drone so if removing the resonator will cause more engine drone, then if a muffler delete isn't good enough I will remove the resonator too.
Muffler and resonator delete makes it too loud ,Tahts what I did and I hate it,it's way too loud
Yeah, I can understand. BTW my first car actually isn't gonna be my mom's ford fusion. She is keeping that car. But I am fine, bc I would be a much happier ricer with the car I plan on getting. A stick shift 1990's Honda Civic Hatchback. Also, I will first delete the muffler, and if that isn't loud enough (which it probably will be enough) then I will go ahead and delete the resonator.
Fucking American kids.
@@simonhaley103 lol I look back at this and cringe lmao. I've changed Soo much now lol. I have the car now, and I just have it stock and really just want to keep it that way. The car Is perfect, and also I'm not into having something just loud. If I were to change an exhaust, it's no longer me wanting "loud". Now it's for exhaust note. I see Soo many people who do exhausts with just the intent of "loud" and they sound terrible. Especially horrible rasp. I see Soo many ricers in my area who do shitty exhausts bc they're "loud" but they have terrible rasp and sound god awful. The sound I like now isn't necessarily loud, but more a deep tone. I HATE RASP. And I don't want an obnoxious loud exhaust anymore.
sounds normal
Since you removed the resonator has the check engine light came on? Or have you experienced any issues? I want to remove mine but i dont want to screw anything up like O2 sensors and stuff like that
Resinators are just basically mufflers, nothing electronic. You can safely delete them.
SirXyloid it doesn’t have to be electronic it just has to change the way it flows
Maybe if u cut the mufflers off...
The resonator is right after your cat - looks like another muffler, round and about 20" long.
3.0
im doing this to my mystique
should of got a muffler delete 💯💯
No difference
bruh crazy video ... didn't know they sound this good haha check out my video
Sounds ford made lol
delete mufflers
lol these car is not loud at all...
+JDM Did I ever say it was..?
Mitchell Camps no, now was not against you, said merely that one gets out of the car out not much
I thought it was obvious that the mic didn't do it's justice.
The car sounds a lot better now, it's got two Flowmaster Super 40's
Mitchell Camps Would love to hear it in a video.
