You didn't leave enough room in the handle for the batteries 😂😂😂. Lovely result there Mr. Gear Show 👏👏👏, and a nice change of content just to show us all what else you're capable of 👍👍👍. Beautiful finish on that 👊👊👊. Thanks brother 🙏. 😎
Great restoration. You are the best at this I’ve ever seen. Had these videos been available 25 yrs ago, I would have tried to restore my grandfather’s reciprocating saw.
was it necessary to remove the majority of the rust pits? i wonder if you went further on removing a lot of surface area because of fear that rust might re-establish on those pits. i kind of liked how it looked before it was smoothened out because it had character showing on the blade since it looked more handmade rather than machined.
1:46 I think the correct item to use is Washing Soda (Sodium Carbonate) not Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate). Although they sound similar, they are two different products.
why westerners always want to westernize japanese tools? its not meant to look like that. just because you can never means you should with japanese tools. look at the picture, make it like that! simple, efficient, perfectly thought out. are you hollywood writer? need to add your own story to an already completed tale?
Well done, sir. I particularly like that you didn't weld-fill the rust pits. They add character to the chisel. I've subscribed.
Great restoration this chisel...You are awesome always with these restoration grade 10
This is so old-school that is refreshing, especially in the world of throwaway mentality nowadays. Now you need to 3D-print a blade cover...

Leaving the rust pitting on there is what elevates the restored chisel to a beautiful and honest Piece. Well Done!
0:40 - "Yo' dawg, I heard you like chisels, so I chiseled on your chisel with a chisel..."

Oh, thank you so much for sharing this.
If Backyard Ballistics is anything to go by, maybe boiling steel or iron pieces first is the way to go.

Wasting your time
Okay, I know
@@gear_show do what you're good at
For some it may be, for great many others it is enjoyable skills put to good use. Then again some others can not see this. A pity really.
he trouble is that chisel is only about a third to quarter of the original size, while your work is to be comended it is almost useless!
wasting time and effort over a normal chisel which cost only like $10 bucks
Yeah, people like you will never understand it.
👍🤩
