Repair your motorcycle seat pan, Suzuki TS250

- In this video I repair the seat pan for the 1975 Suzuki TS250, by using a welder, tin snips, and other basic hand tools you can repair your pan to new condition again. At least functionally.

Man, this takes me back. My 2nd bike was a Suzy TS-90, THE most fun little bike I ever owned. (My first bike was a 1958 Norton 650 Twin Scrambler/Nomad that my uncle bought new, raced in Texas, and then gave it to me frozen up in 1970......... he never thought I'd get it running.......but I did, and rode it for years.....still have it, but right now it's an erector set)
Great story, some folks just don't get how determined a kid with a motorcycle is.

my 1969 TS-250 was orange tank with the old Suzuki flying S badge. loved that bike. eventually set it up for TT racing,flat track seat,racing expansion chamber, removed the oil injection and had some port work. it screamed off the line always first into turn one.
If your anything like me, wish you still had it.

Thanks John, yes at times they don't look too good after repairing, but who cares.... you're going to cover it up with foam and a seat cover. Making it strong and sound is the objective. Good luck with your project.

Excellent repair job Dale. Those aircraft sheet metal skills never leave you! Nice to see you working the stretcher/shrinker. The BSA seat is crumbling to dust, hopefully I can do something with it.

Thanks Dean, yes working sheet metal is fun and rewarding. I bet you will get it done. Just look at the Kawasaki Big Horn seat I did, had to make it from scratch, my old pan was just good enough to give me a general idea of what I needed to do. You're doing great work over on your channel, will be looking forward to you building your seat pan. Thanks buddy
Nice work! I have two Yamaha pans for two AT1c that both need this work -not sure why they rust out so easily. Just did a pan on a suzuki RV125. For those of you out there with stock decent pans, I would advise you to pull the cover and foam and get to the pan in advance and give it some paint love, etc -much easier to work on these before they need welding, etc. Thanks Dale! What gauge metal were you using for the repair?
Thank you, yes, they do, I think what happens is the seat cover gets a tear or the water soaks through the cover and always runs to the kick stand side of the pan. That is usually where the worst rust is. When I do these pans, I always coat them with POR 15 which will never rust again. I generally use 20-gauge material on most of the pans.
Yep I had to cut the lid off mine.
So, you know what it's like to fix one. Bravo, glad to see other folks getting their hands dirty.
Suzuki TC-100 re-pop seat complete from Asia on ebay $158.00
Don't need one for a TC100, but they aren't that hard to fix. I can buy a lot of welding wire and sheet metal for 158.00. Thanks Frank, just giving you a hard time. I'm too cheap to buy new unless there is no other way.
