Lived in Houston since 1987 and have been grillin' and workin' a smoker for about as long. Went back to my 'hood roots and bought my first Old Smokey 18" as a replacement portable grill. Burn off last nite and cookin' today. Lemme tell ya, this grill is tha truth! I installed a thermometer on mine salvaged from my now deceased grill. Can't go wrong with this classic!
Just ordered mine last night with the cover and the leg extensions. Haven’t cooked with charcoal in years. Looking forward to giving the Old Smokey a go. Great video man, especially the background music!!!
I really like this channel I don't come here for the latest in cooking technique I know most of that stuff already ,but this channel reminds me of being young in Houston and this dude reminds me of my friends or the vibe of the people where I grew up in Pasadena I can literally smell the food so cool
I’ve had two Old Smokey’ 6:06 cookers. I am a native Texan stuck in CA. Smoked several turkeys on the Smoky. Smoked kid on it. So good. Believe they are made in Stafford, TX.
What up! I would recommend the 22" Old Smokey for racks of Ribs 🔥 but you definitely throw Ribs on the 18" for a direct Heat Cook and indirect cook. Just a tighter fit on the 18"
Full disclosure I just bought a Old Smokey because I needed a grill for a small small 2nd business I have but I thought it would be cool to barbecue for employees once in awhile during the busy parts of the year seen the old smokey at Walmart and I had to have it immediately reminded me of when I was a kid
Love the idea about marking the vent position on the grill 💯🔥 but I have question how did you get those letters so perfect on the side of that grill it looks like u used a stencil 🤔😆😆
Same, picked up this grill at Walmart on clearance for $15. I have never used this grill before but I figured for the price why not. Now I’m looking forward to trying out some pork chops.

Come on somebody Lol! Thank you 👍
I love my old smokey, it puts off some major smoke off just a little wood. i personally just use pure apple+oak wood chunks instead of charcoal.
Apple and oak are a bomb combination! Appreciate you Bro 🔥
