Kon-Tiki - The Shadows Cover by Peak Guitar Player

Here is my cover of Kon-Tiki by the Shadows. Using my VOX AD50VT amplifier with my Zoom G7.1 footpedal with Shadows echo effects pre-configured. I'm using my Burns Marvin guitar which was purchased around 2007. Hope you enjoy! Please like and subscribe.

Always loved the Shadows. Hank always got a great tone, whether playing a Strat or a Burns. Nice cover!

Nothing beats the Strat sound for that old classic Shadows sound....certainly not even the Burns.

I think it’s just a preference thing mate. I think the strats always look the best in that fiesta red. But the Burns will always be the go-to for me. Unless your talking about custom shop Stratocasters then it’s a different story of course 😁 (if only I had one!)

@@peakdistrictguitarplayer Hello friend....Hank's first strat was not even a Custom Shop run as there was no Custom Shop then....He then shifted to the Burns in the 70s,,,,but I dont know why he went back to the Strat.....perhaps he was already offered a Custom Shop Strat....Neverthe lesss the Burns is a beaitful guitar although a bit oversized and heavy for me.....more power to you.

Yeah I did have a MIJ Stratocaster, I think it was a 54 reissue. It was nice, but the neck profile didn’t suit me, and it would not stay in tune. Perhaps I needed to get a U.S.A. strat instead. Even if it wasn’t custom shop like you said.

Burns Marvin Signature guitar. This was one of the re- issues I bought in 2008. You can’t buy them anymore I don’t think unless you can find one on eBay or Reverb . It’s not as rare as the 2004 model-run which came out I think in 2004 and included certificate from Hank and Bruce.
If you are interested in buying one, I saw one on eBay last year for £1400 GBP just for reference.
