Would love to hear Painted Black played by a Lute. Listening to this it sounds so likely to play some of those classics.
Through the fire and flames
"Doth My Lute Hath The Courage To Shred?" is almost as bad as "Noweth in bottles."
The th ending is an archaic form of the s ending in the third person singular present tense, so hath means has. That mistake is so common that it's a surprise when it's done right.
XD hahaha nice
Does the Shamizan Shred?
Its a Japanese String instrument :D

"...and guitarists" while showing Davie with his bass is peak comedy
Bass guitar is a member of the guitar family 😉
@@brandonacker Sure! But Davie has always joked about how "Bass is the superior instrument, better than those pesky guitars"
Ah well in that case...I challenge him to a duel!
@@brandonacker Things are heating between the Bass-Lute fan clubs!
But unironically: yes please! I'd love to watch a video with a bass-lute duel!
@@brandonackerDavie would definitely take you up on a duel!
Thine luting is of such a splendid shred I was most compelled to listen not twice, but thrice instead.
SOLID GOLD, Sire.
Hahaa!!!
Yes, I concur!
It's so crazy how good some of these old instruments sound and how they've been mostly forgotten. Need to bring a lot of them back into mainstream music.
like the dulcimer
hurdygurdy les gooooo
@@DeterminedDIYer Dulcimer is still pretty popular in folk music, even in American/Appalachian folk music at least. Such a beautiful instrument.
Actually a lot of power metal bands incorporate classical instruments into their music such as lutes.
the theramin needs to be back
“LET IT BE KNOWN
As the plant comes from the seed…
The lute doth shred, indeed!”
Love that.
I already knew it can thanks to Need for Speed music from 90s. Lots of them have traditional instruments mixed into the electronic music and the people who made the music even tho are Canadian they are actually Greek and from the music you can hear that Balkan flavor mixed with hard rock and techno of the time ...
There were other video game soundtracks who did this but specifically old NFS music stuck in my mind when it comes to this topic.
If you people don't know what I am talking about search 90s Need for Speed music playlist or OST and enjoy the flavors of sounds ...
Lesser known fact, Brandon actually invented metal with the lute shred back in the 1650s, But i guess the world just wasnt ready yet.
😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😅😅😄
"But your kids are gonna love it!" - Marty McLute
He's actually an immortal vampire which is how he plays old instruments with such precision and why his skin is so flawless.
I knew it, he's a vampire that has survived for centuries
@@archemedes2533I came specifically to say this
Wait, wh-...why isn't this longer?! It sounds SO GOOD.

'Tis the worst sorrow, is it not?
As an avid folk metal fan, I say there needs to be an album. I'll buy the hard-copy!
Celtic metal ftw
Please, Brandon, make an album. Some of us metalheads have been wanting something like this for our entire lives
Lute metal? I am confused but intrigued.
Hold up, what about Folk Metal? There's many different ways to do it, with some investigation I'm sure something will turn up.
This gave me flamenco and gerudo valley vibes, and I want a *lot* more of it.
Yes! I would buy that album in a heartbeat!
Folk metal has had accordions, harps, flutes, and all kinds of other instruments. Why not lutes as well?
more bard metal please!
All about this!
💯 I love early music and classical sounds in metal, so a whole metal song on lute is something I need in my life
Yes please more
@@princealigorna7468 Have you heard Sitar by Bernth? ua-cam.com/video/o0KHncY92LY/v-deo.html
Im surprised this isnt a thing already
There is something so beautiful about old instruments making modern music ...the beauty of history and tradition while accepting the future and walking both in harmony.
This kind of art is soooo good
No wonder the bard's greatest ability is inspiring his allies. I'd be inspired too if I heard this in the heat of battle
same concept with gym music.
Come on, we all know the lute has the guts to shred!
I see what you did there… 😌
That is GREAT when I read this I spit out my soda. LMAO
You win the internet today!
Well played Melissa.
Clever one! 👏
Full version please!!!! I was so hooked, NOT ready for that to end! 🤩
OMG YES!! This sooo much! I LOVED what I just heard, and want to hear more!
yes please
Yes! Please & thank you.
maybe a version without the backing music too because I can barely hear the lute
@@chaoinspace2 Or at least the lute just cranked up a little bit more in the mix.
speaking on behalf of all metalheads, we NEED an album. at least one published song please we need this
But doth it djent?
With that many strings it's gotta djent.
GURREN LAGGAN yes.
"Majestic as the king's decree, this sound enchants both you and me." This is just so adequate 😂
I heard it in screamo.
thinking of a cheesy medieval story where a metal shredder from the modern time suddenly travels back to the renaissance and begins a journey of lute shredding through the kingdom as he attempts to find a way to return to the 21st century
Excellent!
I want that to be a movie. Thats more creative than anything Hollywood can come up with
And Keanu Reeves is the one who introduces him to the lute 😂" 'tis excellent, celebrate on fellow"
Sounds like a great Anime!
@@Artchiifulthere is an anime with a heavy metal soundtrack.
It's called Bastard Heavy Metal Dark Fantasy.
This means that its possible that at least one musician in medieval times played like this.
It is not the instrument that shreds. It is the artist whom shreds.
The lute is often a very pattern based instrument. Guitar is too. Shredding is just the process of playing pattern based licks really fast. So, of course one can shred on the lute!
Looks to me like it's a lot harder to do it on a lute, but as long as you're sticking to the high strings, it's basically the same.
@@elhoward7440 Yes His technique takes eons to master, he clearly has mastered it. Bravo, mad lad bravo.
Except he didn't. He just played reasonably well.
@@keithwood6459 , what a sh*t take. Lmao
@@SamBrockmann Look, he plays well. I'll give him that. The lute sounds great. The piece of music was pretty cool. But he put himself beside Charles Berthoud and other major talents, and I'm sorry but he's not competing. If he's going to put himself on par with such great musicians, he needs to bring more to the table than that. His finger picking is solid, but nothing there was shred-level. JMHP. Edit: Based on his other videos on guitar I would have expected much more. He has the shred in him for sure. Just needs to really bring it down on the lute.
Is it possible to shred on a lute?: No.
Is it possible for Brandon Acker to shred on a lute?: Yes.
You just made my LIFE! I was working a show in 1999! the Director vetoed me using a Lute. I am an old fashion metal guitarist as well. This is Amazing!
Tell me Thy Lute Shreded indeed!!! Why isn't this longer!!
I LOVE this mixture of modern and historical music!!!
What a cliffhanger at the end. We need a longer version of this.
I read some time ago that metal fans and baroque fans tend to have similar personality types. And I've certainly seen quite a lot of comments from people who identify chiefly as metal fans saying that they enjoy some baroque videos on UA-cam, particularly Vivaldi's music.
As a metalhead who loves Vivaldi I can confirm
Another metalhead who loves Vivaldi. Forgotten for centuries, that man wrote some of the baddest stuff ever. But let us also not forget Monteverdi and Handel. (forgot about Bach, sorry).
Combine the two and you have baroquen metal
I'm pretty sure most metal musicians can play other genres quite well too, e.g. they can do great ballads if they want to. And a classical music education helps with all music.
@@elhoward7440 Quite so! I was classically trained on the cello, then had to teach myself the bass for a piece we were doing and from there, I decided to teach myself everything else. I went from playing classical to jazz, bluegrass to rock, alt and metal, you name it. Right now I'm in a dream pop and syntheticwave phase, but I still stay up on alt and classical, which are my go tos, and peek in on the metal scene from time to time, for new, unexpected talent.
The most chill man on earth: I used to be a metal guitarist.
Bro we need this into a full LONG song! PLEASE!!! This music swims in my soul, I need it like I need air
I watched this with a friend and we both just fell silent because we were so taken aback. Now I've heard you shred before but this is a WHOLE NEW EXPERIENCE and I would love more of it!
He learned how to shred directly from Vivaldi
Try Scarlatti for much earlier concepts. EVH lifted Cathedral idea, classically trained.
Il liuto ha un suono evocativo di epoche antiche e ricche di sentimenti forti. Ci trasporta indietro nel tempo con potente nostalgia.
I keep coming back to this! Would you ever consider making a full version of this solo?
Brandon is the only one I trust to answer this age old question
Hearing lute in a heavy metal context pleases my ears verily! 👂 Brandon doth your musical knowledge know no bounds? Haha i loved this :) ! Your playing is so spectacular ! You've got a great sense of humour too 😂
The section at 1:39 was so tense! That was awesome and reminded me of plenty of metal guitar solos :)
This is incredible! I’d love to hear more!
That's so awesome that you and Jared conected artistically.
That's a lot of shred in on one bill, amigo!
M'lord! This was indeed quite the exceedingly adequate shredding! 🔥
Hear, hear
Dang! That sounds awesome! The tremolo fits really well in there
I agree
That tone still resonates after the video ended... organic awesomeness! More lute videos please

I am extremely impressed. Not only shredding on a lute, shredding with classical style music. BRAVO BRAVO

The algorithms sent me the goods this morning!!
The sounds from thine luth trickle through mine ears. And maketh me most enchanted!
The lute absolutely would be a perfect instrument for an interlude partway through a metal song! Then again, it's perfect all the time anyway. I always love what you share!!
I love open-minded musicians and people with a sense of humor.
Thank you for this delightful musical moment !
This was GREAT! Thanks for sharing it!
That was beautiful!!! Would love to hear more shredding on the lute.
As the plant cometh form the seed, the lute does shred indeed!

This showed up randomly in my feed and I didn't know what to expect but WOW this was amazing! Gotta sub now!
Imagine the bard busting this out in the kings court
Holy crap man. Did not expect that. Good work!!
Beautifully played.
I reckon you are always “shredding” in your own way mate. I listen and play to a great deal of diverse music and I have come to believe that everyone “shreds” once they reach a certain level of creativity, understanding and technical proficiency. Which you most certainly have reached a significant time ago. 👍
This is the coolest thing I've seen in a long time!
That was glorious!
Wonderful. I was applauding at the end, and the commentary notes were brilliant. Well done, a most worthy contribution!

And I thought you were going to make a 'Bach in Black' joke
I like the old English words! It’s so funny to me. Awesome video as well!🤘🏽
that lute did not shred. You have to hook it to a distortion pedal.
Sorry but the title is so painful to read. You wrote “Dose my Lute Has”.
What a beautiful instrument! I've never really given the lute much thought until now.
the world needs more of this
Thy talent truly showed and shredding your lute bestowed.
That sounded so awesome! I love the language you used in your subtitles, aswell. Very apt.

I honestly didn't know that I needed this in my life. Thank you.
Absolutely stunning
I've watched this in awe 10 times+ in the past hour. Both the creativity and skill are superb. I second the requests of hearing the full version of this ... "piece" 😁
And thus, a new genre was born that day.
