Panasonic Lumix S5ii + 70-200mm f/4 Lens Real World Review

I had the chance to take the 70-200mm f/4 for a spin with my Lumix s5ii and it was a ton of fun. I take you along the big air event that I filmed and took photos of with the lumix s5ii and the gopro strapped to my chest.
Do you like your Lumix s5ii for photo and video? Have you used any telephoto lenses with this camera yet?

I am glad you enjoyed it. I would recommend the Lumix simply because it’s a native lense and it’s autofocus will still perform better.

Thanks for your thoughts and your video! Have you played with the "individual AF-Settings (Foto)" in the menu? Specially "Setting 3 and 4" could be very interesting for you in these scenarios. You can tweak them to your Liking as well.

Can you share your AF photo settings? Were you always shooting in burst mode? Hello from your neighbour in Sask ;)

I would have liked to hear more about the lens and whether or not you felt like you needed the f2.8 version. Some of the shots had great depth of field and looked clean while others maybe were too dark. How high of iso did you use? I shot photos at xgames in 2018, love action photography

I’d say that f2.8 wouldn’t be necessary for the depth of field but it would help with low light. This lens provided some good bokeh for it being f4. ISO levels bounced around 2000-6400 (sometimes higher for the darker shots)

Did you try taking photos without auto exposure/iso?

Yes out of focus when object moving ....only reason I regret this and not r6 II ...so ye if focus matter consider r6 II even for more money

A recent firmware update came out for the S5ii and it improved the autofocus. I’ll be making a new video soon
