As writer myself, I agree. I'm a softer powerscaler just because my style/take on the rule of cool gells better with that, but I do agree. In general, in serious, non-comedic moments, I try to divide characters into broad tiers where the tier above them is basically impossible to beat in a one on one scenario through normal means. How much exactly is a little screwy, but I do follow this rule, which leads to obvious narrative events.
“Powerscaling is mid” is literally the most annoying bot take I've seen I don't hate people for simply disliking it or not taking interest it but having a strong hatred for it is sad as fuck
Definitely true powerscaling is important but what makes it better is the progression of powers in the narrative also you may not remember me but we argued awhile back in your comments back then I was under a false agenda of Dragonball so just wanted to tell you this
