The Cory Band began as the Ton Temperance band; named after the Temperance movement of the late 19th C. Then a car rental business funded them and they took that name. It's back to The Cory Band now and they're Wales best and one of the UK's finest brass bands. While they play traditional Welsh fare the band's strong commitment to playing contemporary music means they have an impressive line of composers writing special band commissions. They're on tour in Australia conducted by Philip Harper.
