Exactly. Because I saved so much money bill sharing with my parents I paid off my second mortgage at the age of 27. Jokes on who exactly? Someone who moves out on their own at 18 and only scrapes by a living working in Wallmart or someone who's savy and still lives with his parents and invests all his savings in stocks and real estate?
B WB says the fact you have to pay for plane tickets? Everything this guy does is to save money on travelling but at no point do they say he’s flying for free. There’s no legal way to fly for free, sorry to tell you.
life isn't just about being a better person. maybe he rides planes and travels a lot just because he loves to. success is a broad word. the truth is, there are "measurements" for success. some succeed when it comes to relationships, jobs, wealth, personal life goals in doing what they love, etc. No one says "don't eat your favorite food because it won't make you a better person."
Don't eat on the plane and once you get on the plane set your watch to local time where you are going and stay awake or sleep according to where you are going. Works great for me and I am usually fully adjusted to local time with 24 hours of landing.
He should become a pilot. All I know is that when I travel I want to spend time experiencing the sights, people, food etc.. Spending one day somewhere is not enough time. Seems like he spends more time in airport lounges, planes and hotels than actually visiting any city or country. I only see flying as a means to get there.
@@mohd_allearz8403 he essentially made frivolous complaints to keep getting free cash compensation of $200 or $400, and when United caught on after he bragged about making over $10k in vouchers to the NYT, they banned him.
Here's an example: person opens a CC with 50,000 sign up bonus points for $5000 spent within the first 3 months of opening it. Use the same CC to buy $5000 worth of GC's. Purchase money orders with the said GC's. Money orders cashed and deposited to bank account. Pay off CC's in full. Use gained points for travel. It's a cycle.
Even though things have been tightened up a lot in the last 1-2 years, I think it's generally agreed that getting the most out of travel hacking works only if you're based in the United States. The sheer range of credit card 'benefits' (if that's the right word) aren't all that common elsewhere, except perhaps if you're a high net worth individual. Otherwise, you're likely to be someone who has to travel a lot...for work.
where the hell did he get the money to put on the credit cards, and continue to use them without an income cause im sure buying hotel rooms and plane flights definitely costs money
You pay bills and needed purchases on the cards to get the points. Once you have the points, you use them for cheap/free flights/stays. Additionally, when you use an airline enough, there are a lot of amazing perks like additional bonus points or even free flights and bumps.
+vetis24 He advertises credit cards through his blog and he also owns a company which helps other people to redeem their miles for whatever they like, mostly because they don't know a lot about this world and just want to save the hassle

Cool concept. Not sure I could do that for a living. But to each their own. My wife and I travel hacked in preparation for our year long honeymoon. We ended up getting the following flights for free: Shanghai to Seattle, Seattle to Atlanta, Atlanta to New York, Seattle to Guatemala City, and Quito to Seattle. We flew economy but we we're backpacking and budgeting pretty tight to stretch our time on the road. I ended up using Upgraded Points and a few other travel hacking blogs to get ideas to maximize the points and plan what credit cards to use. Most Americans can do this and it only takes a little discipline to plan out. Just be sure to pay off the credit cards each month.
That's great... and the airlines are paying notice. Just wait... less than 5 years from now all of a sudden there will be a whole slew of restrictions on lounge access and tickets.

This also takes a lot of time and micro management. You have to constantly keep up with every little bonus and trick and you have to spend lots more time planning which cards to use where and which airlines, and where you want to go. It's just a ton of variable to consider. Plus most of these credit cards have Annual fees.
how much is that blog of his raking in? geez. I prefer destinations over the journey tho. flying can be kinda fun, but its basically a loading screen for real life. like its cool to be in the air and all, but its just a cramped hotel room at best.
Ok what people don’t understand is it’s not about how much you spend it’s about how often you fly. These people rack up tons of miles because of how often they fly. By doing that you can fly first class for the price of coach. However, credit cards do help but it’s all about how often you fly and how many miles you travel.
Mark Santucci no he doesn't have that card, because that is actually one of the worse travel cards out there. But it's is brilliantly marketed by the company. Yes you get double miles for every purchase but not all miles are created equal especially when you trade them in for air miles or point to buy plane tickets. For points earned on the venture card you are getting a value of at most 1¢/ point whereas for chase or Starwood points for example are valued at a little over 2¢/mile
This lifestyle is so wack. Although flying many places is fucking dope, you have to keep track of 40 credit cards your on a constant move all the time so you don’t really have a break and I guess it can get stressful. And your only in places for like a day so you don’t really build up relationships and stuff he’s traveling but it’s nothing on the long run no career involved just keep on moving and moving and moving.
This is his job! The lucky duck :) He travel hacks with credit cards and writes about it on his site. His forty cards probably came with sign-up bonuses, and his travel is likely funded by his site. Because he spends a lot on travel, he gets a lot of points. I believe he also uses a process called churning where you take advantage of sign-up bonuses by signing up for multiple credit cards a year while keeping track of the cards you already have and the categories, annual fees, and what-have-yous for each card. Ideally, with a nice little spreadsheet. Still, it's not too difficult to get free trips every once in a while even without churning, especially if you know what cards to choose to maximize your points on different categories. If you spend a lot of money on Amazon, for example, you might get a card that gets you 3-5% cash back on Amazon. You'd be spending the money anyways, but now you're getting more money back than you would with a card that gets you 1% on everything. Then, there are also different credit cards catered towards travelers, like United's MileagePlus Explorer or the Chase Sapphire cards.
