The Secret Barrister is an anonymous author, blogger, and junior barrister specialising in criminal law. Their 2018 book, Stories of The Law and How It’s Broken, and their 2020 book, Fake Law, were both Sunday Times Bestsellers. The Secret Barrister was named Legal Personality of The Year at the
annual Law Society Awards and in 2020 created the Channel 4 four-part documentary series, The Secret Barrister: Disordered Justice. They write frequently for national newspapers and were twice named Independent Blogger of the Year at the annual Editorial Intelligence Comment Awards.
They will be addressing the union on the title: "The Slow Death of Criminal Justice - Why Did We All Stop Caring?”
Thank you to all who pre-submitted audience questions. You will have received an email if your question has been selected. Given the Secret Barrister's secret identity, they will not be physically present at the event, which will be delivered using a combination of voice actors and pre-submitted questions. We look forward to seeing you all at the event on Monday!

This speaker did a great job of reading! I forgot that she wasn’t the original writer of the script

This is brilliant. Is there a Secret Prison Officer to invite?

What the police/CPS are permitted to do by the Ministry of Justice in these times is a million miles away from what we all expect of them in a democracy.
The fact of the matter is that no one is safe from rogues within the Criminal justice System, and they quite enjoy that situation of their demonstrable unlimited power to abuse, assault and ruin.

I have worked within the CPS for over 25 years and can attest to every word of this as being true.
There will be small undiscovered ancient tribes of neolithic beings inhabiting lost Forrest's and jungles somewhere who have developed a better criminal justice system than Britain's!.

I strongly believe SB is female. Either that, or it's deliberate and determined obfuscation and ambiguity.

In any country, there are absurdities in the judicial field. I really wonder who the author is

Really interesting subject, Thank you for bringing this matter to the public arena. One tiny criticism for the lady speaking on behalf of the 'The Secret Barrister.' The word 'anything' does not have a 'k' at the end of it. Sorry, just something that annoys me.

If we may. Everyone, whether man or woman, possesses understanding and will; but with the man the understanding predominates, and with the woman the will predominates, and the character is determined by that which predominates. Thank You 🙏

      To the OP.
      What a gross generalisation!
Everyone's brain is unique and posseses it's individual combination of 'masculine' (left hemisphere) and 'feminine' (right hemisphere) forms of thinking and reasoning.
      It's like a spectrum.
There is no person who solely thinks in a 'feminine' way and vice versa.
And what of those who have what neuroscience now call 'balanced brains'?!
