Liquid Metal was the very first magic presentation I learned and practiced and whenever I perform it it just hits different... It works both close up and on stage...
I like liquid metal, but I think it goes too far. Open til now I've been performing Banacheks Routine. But if I'm a 100% honest. I usually only do 1 or 2 phases. Because after that I feel like it's overproving. It starts to lose its significance with the audience.
The first time I met James Randi was at Tannen's, and it was the first time he showed Tony Spina key bending. I remember Tony being a little disappointed, saying he had hoped they guy was real. I once broke a woman's only car key: don't try to bend an aluminum key!
@magicorthodoxy That's very flattering, but I don't know. Genuinely, I am not a magician, as such. Just to give you an idea, I know what a double lift is, but I couldn't execute one! That's about the extent of my conjuring knowledge. I'm a purist mentalist, counting on performance rather than skill or ability. 😊
Hi David. What a great review! I agree with you that an actual book library is a valued addition to any and every magician/mentalist tool kit and collection. Books are timeless. No need for VHS or Zip Drive or DVD or Thumb Drive or Specific Comouter Program. The books I've been collecting since I was 9 years old are still as useful and accessible 63 years later. Thank you for your meaningful, insightful, thorough, thoughtful, informative, candid and enjoyable reviews. Thank you for all you do! Your friend, David
Just ordered mine. Most of Geller's effects were exposed early on in his career through Martin Gardner's Confessions of a Psychic and its follow up, Further Confessions of a Psychic (writing as Uriah Fuller), but I'm always interested in anything PK magic related. As a Gen-Xer whose interests in mentalism started in the late 70s when I saw Geller & Kreskin on TV, this is a must buy.
This is a great book. But I really wish they had Jerome Finley in it. He probably has the best spoon. Bend on the market. No questions asked. I shouldn't say it's on the market. Cause it's in one of his books that is very difficult to get.
Looks really great! Super tempted to get one. Are instructions easy to follow? I was never good with written magic trick descriptions and guides.. so that's a bit of a concern But overall, gorgeous looking book!! Might actually pick it up.... especially if it has essays from Mr. Richard Orsterlind!
Uri Geller unethical Conduct should neither be admired nor emulated. He tried to present himself as a real psychic while running a scam, fought his critics vehemently throughly the court system, and never apologized for his behavior, admitting to “being a magician” only after being caught.
@@magicorthodoxy He's kind of waffled on it, but also he's provided box quotes for metal bending products and a couple of people that studied under him are openly magicians.
Magicians throughout history have never revealed themselves to be fakes. Many of them live their acts in private and in public. I find that many people either Fall on the side of this that James Randi and his group are perpetuating. Or they fall in the middle like Burglass does... or They understand geller for what he is. And they admire his ability to live out his act. You obviously fall on one side which is the side of James Randi And that's okay. You don't have to go on this crusade of saying everyone else wants to hurt other people because they don't reveal that they're not truly doing magic. I'm in the health and human services field. I have fancy college degrees and yet. I disagree with the idea that we have to tell everyone. What we're doing is fake.
Here are some of my favorite magic books : amzn.to/3QA6nJV

Interesting book🤔
even if I got the Beckham reference wrong? LOL
...Bend it like Beckham was soccer, not tennis lol
I don't know the sports
This sounds interesting. I will comment that Gellar is controversial with his deceptions.
To all his critics, Mr. Geller has usually said that he does not care what they say as long as they spell his name right
Uri Geller unethical Conduct should neither be admired nor emulated. He tried to present himself as a real psychic while running a scam, fought his critics vehemently throughly the court system, and never apologized for his behavior, admitting to “being a magician” only after being caught.
oh he DID admit to being a magician?
@@magicorthodoxy He's kind of waffled on it, but also he's provided box quotes for metal bending products and a couple of people that studied under him are openly magicians.
Oh, just buy the book - or not... and miss out.
@@magicorthodoxy implicitly. Geller released magic lectures and in an interview referred to himself "as entertainer"

I know its my problem but i struggle with the 'Geller facade'. I simply don't have time for him. .,., Unlike your reviews of course.
lol
13th like and 2nd comment! Today I'm not in late like yesterday...

Finally, you reviewed this. 🥄
