I saw someone sitting in this imaginary chair position and it baffled the crap out of me; had to find out how it was done, and now I know. My goodness, I thought the person had some super powerful muscles, at first, and then I was like, oh hell no, this can't be. Thanks for sharing and taking this load off my very inquisitive mind. I won't give it away on other videos. 😉

Did you guys not see him get up from the sitting position? This means if he got tired he can just get up and stretch for a bit. (When doing this trick you're supposed to be sitting leaning on your elbow[s] on your knee[s] like how'd you sit during a boring meeting without anything to lean on except on yourself so you don't have to make the trick hurt your posture by trying to sit up pretending you're leaning your back on nothing.)

Hi Johann, what amazes me is how that curved metal piece at the top of the frame doesn't cut into his butt? Even if it has padding, your resting all your weight pretty much in that spot for a long time.
But among the many things I'd love to know is one thing about magicians.
If they don't tell their secrets, how do you learn magic tricks? There are the very basic tricks everyone could do because they are so common, but beyond a simple, well known trick, how does one get into magic and learn the fundamental techniques to fill up your 'portfolio' of tricks. That's what I have always wondered.

there was a contestant at my high school talent contest 47 years ago who did something similar. He called it "driving the invisible car." The steel plate his foot hooked into was on bearings and was moved around by a giant magnet his partner was moving around under the stage. I was the partner. He did the performance on stage because he only weighed 110 pounds and I was 225 so the trick would work better with him. Plus I was never able to master the smooth discrete way he slipped his foot onto the anchor point (our term). He came in 2nd place though. The Ventriloquist with the talking pet rocks came in first.

As a welder if your going to try this make sure you grind the surface of steel weld contact points to remove "scale" or the weld beads might not penetrate.

You show the metal sole clipping into the base, but when you have your shoes on how does it then clip. Is the bottom sole of tennis shoe cut out so there's access to clip in place? Great work btw!!!
