I recently acquired Klein insulated shaft screwdrivers. They are the best screwdrivers I have ever used. They have not slipped, even on Phillips head screws! I am planning a large purchase of them for Xmas this year.
Packout still sets the standard for now, but it's nice to see some competition. I'm always happy to see new, useful innovation, like the upright slots in the handle as an example. They've got a long way to go before justifying those prices, though.
Klein sent out a survey about two years ago about the different modular storage systems and asked for input. I’m happy to see that several of the suggested features made it into the production models. (The survey may have been through a Reddit channel or discord server) I recall having conversation about the different mods that people have done to their other systems that they would like to see from the factory, the upright organizer for conduit benders and levels was one, as well as the removable handle.
I wouldn't call pack out setting the standard, but it maybe started the movement. This box from klien has way more customization, options and features that packout lacks.
Pack out is nice and lots of options. But it’s too expensive and they never run any sales. I just got a three piece set of dewalt for about $160 on sale. I’ve been watching packout for a sale and nope doesn’t happen. Maybe Klein won’t drop the ball here
Lowes rolling out Klein Tools (which HD previously had an exclusive on) is a big win for them! I agree with the previous comment that Lowes has to roll hard on this as I think the battle to win more Pro business always starts with product and the specific brands that are going to drive traffic. Pros buy for projects, and not always for specific products, but incrementally adding in Pro brands like Klein...like Sharkbite...like Dewalt are all moves in the right direction. LOW stock is up 12.1% YTD vs HD's 2.2% so wall street agrees these moves are accretive and creating value! Great video, thanks VCG!
Happened to drive by Lowes. Those boxes are freaking solid ! They roll so much smoother than Milwaukee packout. Willing to commit, but they are missing drawer type boxes. Having to unstacking is not cool. My favorite part is the handle.
@@SportyJasontheir website says "coming soon" on the 2 and 3 drawer options. They might want to make it happen quick because both Milwaukee and DeWalt have it ready today with a base system that's a few dollars cheaper.
A friend of mine is a regional Klein sales mgr and he said they have drawers and lots of goods in the pipeline. That convinced me to go ahead with there system… I have Milwaukee and Rigid but the features of the Klein are worth going with them.
After seeing your video on the Craftsman Tradestack boxes and all the abuse you threw at them, I bought them on clearance and have been very happy ever since. Especially how they connect to tstak/versa stack boxes with the adapter. I haven't ran mine over yet but I know it would survive if I did thanks to you! But the mod box looks pretty high quality too
Picked on up and love it. I keep my levels in the back by pipe bender. I have a hard cap lid that closes on the back of my Tacoma, so it is tough for me to get large toolboxes in and leave it closed with the removal of the handle on the mod box. It is a solid solution. Pack out low profile box also fits in the back of my truck, but the handle is cumbersome and leaves a lot to be desired. Milwaukee is definitely no slouch in the game but Klein is definitely coming out swinging like Vince said
A shame Klein Tools isn't going to have a big selection at The Home Depot anymore. Just wish Lowes had more stores to find the stuff at. I guess most of my Klein Tools shopping will be done on Amazon.
Hey bro, not sure if you're aware but there is lots of screen tearing and frame skipping in this video. Makes it hard on the eyes to watch. Your other videos are super high quality so not sure what's up with this one.
Unfortunately it's more expensive than packout and worth even less options. Only those who enjoy that blinding shade of orange are going to cough up the extra dough for these, until they see the Rigid system.

My local Lowes has Flex boxes as a mainstay item now. Just saw the ModBox at Lowes today and have been wanting to see the pricing for a while, I’m heavily invested in Packout but for the work I do the ModBox is worth every penny of their asking price. Now to sell off my packout……..
Bro, this system looks Hella better than PACKOUT. I've got 3 pc pack out and some storage bins. Lots of storage, but pain in ass to have to remove all boxes to get to another one Hopefully KLEIN thought that out and will be better priced than MILWAUKEE. Also, it blows that H D doing away with KLEIN. W T H are they gonna replace them with? Crappy line of SOUTHWIRE and GARDER BENDER products? WIHA, KNIPEX, GEARWRENCH, or something Hopefully really good comes in behind KLEIN. I mean damn, this pushes me over to LOWE'S to buy KLEIN, But still gotta go h d for MILWAUKEE lol

The Lowes next to my house has the new Klein tool section way on the opposite side of the store from the tools and electrical supplies tucked next to the pro desk. Looks like they are setting up Klein for failure.

Klein is switching from Home Depot to Lowes. That's why the Klein stuff has been on clearance in Home Depot. I was in Home Depot 2 weeks ago by chance and saw all the clearance prices. Scored some much need Klein gear!!
I'd like to see some drawers for it, I use the 3 drawer packout for my larger 18 and 20 volt drills/impact wrenches and I like that a lot more than just a box that I'd have to unstack to open up cause I need my right angle drill but grabbed my regular impact drill the first time. If they ever do that, it'd give packout a real run for its money- I love the slots on the handle for things like my level and fiber sticks, and that's the easiest slide out handle I've seen yet on a packout-like system.
