I'm glad to see that Klein is giving Milwaukee a run for the money! I have been using the Husky up until now and pretty happy with it; I wish Husky had the accessories that Klein and Milwaukee have.
Milwaukee has a rolling drawer base coming in the next couple months that they already showed off at one of their events. Good on Klein for pushing competition and innovation in the market, but if Milwaukee wasn’t trying to get rid of all their regular Rowling bases, we would have had the drawers a long time ago.
not a fan of the idea, you already have plenty of other drawers for smaller items. It's annoying to me because without this drawer it woukd have worked for me, but I guess I'll have to find time to make my own
@@rolobotoman My thinking is that modules should work just as well apart as together. If you have a bunch of big saws, you probably want to keep blades with them. A small drawer is perfect for that. With the way Milwaukee and Flex did it, you need to either have another module that hold those, or have to find a way to store them in the main compartment that isn't a mess. The Modbox version will allow you to keep all the nessessary accessories for certain tools with those tools, but not all just in one big gaping space. I'm sure both versions are good for different uses, but it seems like for the most basic use, this design is a winner.

Thanks 👍 I think a grill cover would work well. I could work out some custom cut tarp piece with magnets perhaps but it would cost more than a whole premade cover that could work
Just went to go take a look at these today at Lowes and I think I'm sold on the drawer system, its much easier to get access to things when I need it and I'm in and out of those boxes all the time. I was nearly about to buy a tough system 2.0 and then realized I think I like Klein's system better.
I ended up buying this Klein rolling drawer mod box at Lowes on sale for $139. It is still on sale till Jan 22 2025. The Drawers and metal locking bar are High quality. This is way better than the Milwaukie Drawer design. I love the 10" wheels. Milwaukie will loose sales until they come up with a better Drawer design. Another benefit for Klein is the Drawer boxes look better because the entire thing is not orange. Black on drawer faces make it much more appealing. Also the bottom drawer is pretty deep.
So glad they came out with this. I grabbed one when I seen it and am stacking 2 multi drawer units on top. I seen in one of your videos you had a handle that mounted to the side of the modbox. I couldn't find it on your site. Can you please point me to it?

With this addition, Klein is looking a bit more useful for my needs in spite of the Milwaukee ecosystem, which is its biggest draw. The small Husky Connect 22 actually works great with the Canteliver unit on top and the small drawers below, the mid size box below, the rolling box on bottom of course. About a month ago I bought a set of 4 drawer units and a medium box in the Ridgid 2.0 system. At the time HD was offering the wheel set for a dollar with additional purchase. I am currently using it as 2 stacks with an additional wheel set for the future. Presently, I am very happy with them. Time will tell in the future. I am probably not going to realistically overload the 150 pound rating but I might. I certainly would look at the Klein system if I was in the market today, but a month ago, Ridgid was the only one who could put the drawers on the bottom and box on the top. A box on the bottom is a deal killer for me as I do not want to have to unstack the boxes to get a screwdriver. My complaints. One drawer has to be pushed down to open or close and the handle in its down position goes all the way to the ground. It acts like a parking brake. Makes it difficult to move them around when I put the cap on my truck. Personally I would like the handle an inch or so shorter so I could easily move it with the handle down. I can see if I was taller, I wouldn't want the handle any shorter to wrestle it up stairs.
I like the look of the casters. They will help position my stack in the garage. I tried the promo code from the end of the video and the site says invalid code.
Does someone make a modbox to packout adapter? I like most of the packout stuff a bit better than mod box, but this is designed a lot better than what Milwaukee showed off. Would be sick if it were possible to just combine them.
The easiest and cheapest way to do it would be to get some Packout feet, piece of plywood, and my modbox cleats.( how I made the custom modbox dolly in video) I’m going to make a short about it later this week
@@JakeWeihe Yeah, but that's such a clunky way to do it. Kind of defeats the purpose of these systems if you have to cludge it together with plywood. Plus, ideally one wants the absolute minimum extra thickness, not easy to accomplish with wood.
I’m glad I waited. I almost bought the first mod box. I own the Milwaukee pack out but I’ve had it for almost two years it’s time to change it. Makita also came out with a box system and it is garbage in my opinion because of their horizontal design.
I really like my Ridgid rolling drawer set up for now. However! the biggest con for Ridgid is that they don't have too many products or accessory to go with it. I'll most likely rock this for a bit and probably make the move to the Toughbuilt later. Also the Price is great with Ridgid, i spent a little over $200 for a 4pc setup: Rolling handle, two drawer box, XL box and a full size screwbox . Milwuakee, Klein, and Toughbuilt are all starting there 1pc rolling cart at $200 or more.
Very very interresting. Two questions : what is the reference of the wheeled box with two drawer ? Impossible to find it anywhere? And is it possible to ordered it back to France ? Best regards
I would love a tool/parts box securing system that completely replaces shelves in transit/ sprinter style vans, while letting me to grab bottom boxes w/o having to move what's on top.
People often create their own shelves for these different toolbox systems. Some with drawer slides. Some not. A couple brands also have e track shelves. But the most complete solution like that may be the Bott smart van setup.
So, the real question is when are you going to make an adapter plate so that I can buy this better bottom drawer system and keep all my pack out stuff to go on top?
You kind of skip over the advantages of the Ridgid. One big one being that they intentionally now have the wheels on the outside to make the inside of the box have more space. There are plenty others as well
This is a video focused on the new Klein drawer. I talk about the advantages of ridgid all the time in other videos. Ridgid also has a an inferior connecting mechanism. And those wider wheels make it harder to roll through tight spaces.
Milwaukee will do it up soon I'm sure. Hopefully just one big slide drawer that's where I keep the heavy tools. M18 fuel 🎉Roofing and siding and framing nailer 😁
Could you return it? Could always keep it as a backup, long term storage, or even turn it into an XL Box if you take off the wheels and attach some modbox feet to the bottom.
I almost bought this yesterday. However, it's EXTREMELY heavy on its own, without tools. Once you put anything in it, it would be a two man lift. They really over built this thing to the point where it is too heavy and kind of useless, unless you are going to keep in in your garage. I'm glad they made this, but they need to trim the weight down by A LOT.
You don't have to be a genius to realize that it's obvious that KT designed their system based on the Packout. They just had to change a few places so that it wouldn't be so noticeable. Milwaukee also managed to announce a single-drawer unit and they keep innovating. KT still has a long way to go to reach the range and variety of the Packout. Competition is always good for the consumer, so we're happy overall.
I want water proof- very resistant drawers. Dewalt has a gasket but the drawers fit like crap and seem flimsy even empty its not hard to build. Turn a large box on its side or back and open the front "lid" to reveal drawers!
I’d love to see a breakdown of who actually makes all these tool boxes. So many of them are made in Israel that it makes me think it’s one company just selling them to whichever company wants them. It’s not really a bad thing it’s just something I’m curious about.
Only a few are made in Israel. Keter is the manufacturer of Packout, Ridgid, and hart stack. Most are made in China and I doubt we will ever know who makes them. Makita will be made in America.
The good sale price on the Ridgid already happened. Wheel unit for a penny with purchase of the drawer unit. Then they sold the two-drawer for $50 PLUS the wheels for one cent. I have extra wheels in my garage that I don't even need. LOL.
Im looking at klein or toughbuilt, my main concerns being waterproofing and raw durability, also considering rigid. But im leaning towards toughbuilt as of right now Also, do we know if toughbuilt is planning to add a single drawer, too? Edit, saw the water rateing for drawers, i might just avoid drawers or find out a fix
Toughbuilt has renderings of several single drawers but I would be surprised if the toughbuilt rolling drawer came before summer 2025. Spring would be nice but it’s going to be tough. All of the normal boxes have near equal water proofness. There are some details I go over in my toolbox comparison video from last year but they all have the same Ip65 rating. I would say Toughbuilt, MODbox and Packout, are nearly equal in raw durability but toughbuilts connecting mechanism is less robust.
If you are in the M18 system then the Packout vacuum is pretty good. But not good enough a reason to join an entire system. Building an adapter plate between the two systems is easy. I’ll do it this week to show you an example with my own Packout vacuum.
@@JakeWeihe Thanks for the quick response! I have old Makita system and thinking of changing it to M18 Yes if you show the build adapter would be great. Is there a Modbox top table like pack out?

Milwaukee unveiled their rolling drawer a few months ago.
😮 omg no wayyyy. That totally wasn’t said in the videooo.
Also, unveiled ≠ available in stores now…
I’m glad I waited. I almost bought the first mod box. I own the Milwaukee pack out but I’ve had it for almost two years it’s time to change it. Makita also came out with a box system and it is garbage in my opinion because of their horizontal design.
I think the boxes will be good. However, It will be good for a different set of people for a different set of reasons.
I got the rolling drawer yesterday at Lowes for 139
That’s great! 👍
@@JakeWeihe and I just bought the casters on your site
🙌🏻 awesome!
I wish klein had a vacuum that would be awesome Milwaukee has one
But Klein is for electricians and we all know they don't clean up after themselves 😂
The only problem is no one sells the KLEIN MODBOX ROLLING DRAWER. Where can we get it?
…. Lowe’s. Pretty easy to get.
can you convert the top to accept packout?
Yes. I need to post my version soon.
You can build your own with “modbox feet” on my website. And a Packout plate
I love my ridgid boxes but The build quality is noticeably better with the more expensive systems.
@@JakeWeihe True, thats why im waiting for the toughbuilt rolling drawer and probably make that move later. But for now Ridgid is worth that money.
Very very interresting. Two questions : what is the reference of the wheeled box with two drawer ? Impossible to find it anywhere? And is it possible to ordered it back to France ? Best regards
Does Klein offer mounting plates
No but I offer mounting cleats.
didnt millwaukee just release a rolling drawer box in their Pipeline event
Did you watch any of the video?? I talk about it within the first two minutes and again later…
@@JakeWeihe i commented way too soon :p
Are these going to be available in canada at stores
I have a dewalt power station. Anyway you can make a mode so i can attach it to the Mod Box system?
I would love a tool/parts box securing system that completely replaces shelves in transit/ sprinter style vans, while letting me to grab bottom boxes w/o having to move what's on top.
People often create their own shelves for these different toolbox systems. Some with drawer slides. Some not.
A couple brands also have e track shelves. But the most complete solution like that may be the Bott smart van setup.
So, the real question is when are you going to make an adapter plate so that I can buy this better bottom drawer system and keep all my pack out stuff to go on top?
I wonder if some of the offbrand packout adapter plates would mount to the top of the box. That would be a slick set up.
Are these available now?
Looks like I’ll have a Klein rolling drawers toolbox with Milwaukee on top😂
It’s easy to make your own adapter plate with my modbox feet.
I'd like to believe that milwaukie didn't decide to release their base drawer until klein decided to release theirs.
I'm already balls deep with milwalkeee pack out. So i can't change now cuz i spent so much on so many boxes etc
build an adapter plate with my modbox feet.
Milwaukee will do it up soon I'm sure. Hopefully just one big slide drawer that's where I keep the heavy tools. M18 fuel 🎉Roofing and siding and framing nailer 😁
Soon… depends on your definition of that
Where to buy in Canada?
What filament will the casters be printed in?
Not PLA.
@@JakeWeihe I would hope not. Would need to know before I preorder.
I print almost everything I make in PETG.
@@JakeWeihe Coolio, thanks.
just bought my regular klien roller and am so sad to see them release it less than month later
Could you return it? Could always keep it as a backup, long term storage, or even turn it into an XL Box if you take off the wheels and attach some modbox feet to the bottom.
I bought my set from Lowe's on labor day. Returned the bottom section for the new rolling drawer and got full refund on it no question asked.
@davidblewett5703 nice!
Got the rolling base for 140 lowes
👍
When is dewalt going to do the same thing...
The sk mod boxes look dope.
Do you have an adapter for Klein modbox so I can attach dewalt toughsystem 2.0 so I can attach my dewalt attachments on top?
weihedesigns.com/shop/p/klein-modbox-feet
Modbox feet- board- dewalt plate- I think Dewalt sells an adapter plate that can be attached.
Milwaukee already has a rolling drawer packout it came out not too long ago
Tell me you didn’t watch a minute of the video without telling me you didn’t watch a minute of the video…
Yes the weight is annoying… but if they trim the weight to just make it more appealing it will not be as sturdy. That’s a bigger downside.
Anyone has the problem with the rolling hand not be able to pull out even when already unlocked? Any solution?
You don't have to be a genius to realize that it's obvious that KT designed their system based on the Packout. They just had to change a few places so that it wouldn't be so noticeable. Milwaukee also managed to announce a single-drawer unit and they keep innovating. KT still has a long way to go to reach the range and variety of the Packout. Competition is always good for the consumer, so we're happy overall.
Milwaukee announced their rolling drawerbox 4 months before this
Then where is it…. 😂 they tricked you.
Hi we're did you get the husky screwdriver set . that you have on the Klein box?
Home Depot. It was on clearance when I got it but I think they have a normal kit now
Do Klein Modboxes have serial numbers?
yes.
Got mine last weekend lol
Cool
The good sale price on the Ridgid already happened. Wheel unit for a penny with purchase of the drawer unit. Then they sold the two-drawer for $50 PLUS the wheels for one cent. I have extra wheels in my garage that I don't even need. LOL.
That was a good sale
@@JakeWeihe dude, those handles are 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks
What happened to the Klein rolling box, if I search for the item, Lowe’s says “this item is not longer sold at Lowe’s”
Does anyone else Will carry it?
Out of stock.. and it’s only been sold online intermittently the last couple months. Keep checking or go in store.

Thanks for the quick response!
Nice but I haven’t original Pack Out. Just wait till Milwaukee comes out with the 2.0.! It’s nice to have options. 👍🏻
Im looking at klein or toughbuilt, my main concerns being waterproofing and raw durability, also considering rigid. But im leaning towards toughbuilt as of right now
Also, do we know if toughbuilt is planning to add a single drawer, too?
Edit, saw the water rateing for drawers, i might just avoid drawers or find out a fix
Also.. toughbuilts color is nice lol
@@JakeWeihethank you so much!
I got one...its nice
Nice review!
Is there a vacuum that would fit into the system like packout?
I’m debating between these two but I need a vacuum.
If you are in the M18 system then the Packout vacuum is pretty good. But not good enough a reason to join an entire system. Building an adapter plate between the two systems is easy. I’ll do it this week to show you an example with my own Packout vacuum.

Thanks for the quick response!
I have old Makita system and thinking of changing it to M18
Yes if you show the build adapter would be great.
Is there a Modbox top table like pack out?
@joseg.5937 Klein doesn’t make a worktop yet but I don’t like the Milwaukee one anyways. I made my own years ago and the process is the same for modbix
I will look for your video of your table, thanks for the quick responses.
It seem modbox are a little bit better than the packout, specially the rollup drawers
Plus Milwaukee's new box does not have metal rails it just slides out and in on some plastic prefixed ledge they just got too comfortable
Klein 2 drawer roller 139 @ Lowes

I just picked it up for $140 at lowes

You should see the maktrak buddy
Lmao. Do you really think I don’t know about MAKTRAK?
