Specifically heroes like Captain America, Iron Man, Batman, and The Flash benefit quite a bit from live action. Captain America is grounded in military warfare for a lot of his lore, boots on the ground combat, World War 2 scale mayhem, he's is and always will be a soldier at heart, live action war film techniques work great for him. Iron Man is all about tech and engineering when it comes to his suits, you definitely have a lot of freedom in animation with that, but grounding it with realistic metal sheen and defined moving parts adds such a presence to the armor. Most of Batman's adventures are grounded, human to human fights, little in terms ridiculous action moves, he's a realistic non-powered human, with only his villains providing the "special effects" with their abilities. The Flash's speed feels far more visceral when you can do effect shots like in the DCEU movies and (when it was good) CW Show, grounding that speed in relation to a realistic physical world makes feel all the more _powerful._

7:00 Yeah. One thing I love about Across the Spider-verse is that the characters are constantly using their powers in casual day-to-day manner. Like the scene where Gwen and Miles literally sitting upside down a building, or them casually talking to each other while webslinging upside down thanks to their reflexes and spider-sense, or that big reveal of the spider-society where we see hundreds of spider-man just casually walking upside down, on walls ...you know, they are Spider-men. You can't do that in a live-action movie because that would cost CGI budget. But in animation you can.
Spider-Man media imo actually would work a whole lot better as a series rather than a movie (spider-verse being an exception). A series I'd love to see would be the Ultimate comic book run faithfully adapted as a higher quality animation series, 3d or 2d either or I'd be happy asf to see it
Id honestly really love to see a Superior spiderman run, im getting tired of all these failed (except our near perfect gift of spectacular) peter parker runs that feel soulless and completely miss the point. Definitely looking at you Marvel's Spider-Man and Ultimate Spider-man. Though Ultimate at least had a couple decent moments
One thing I really think Spider-Man specifically benefits from animation is facial expressions and movement. MCU Spidey tried to fix this with the "expressive lenses" but there is only so much you can do with that before it looks uncanny in live action. In emotional scenes you either have to have the mask damaged or taken off to see their emotions, animation doesn't have this problem since you can make the mask as expressive as you want without it looking off. As for movement, there are a lot of exaggerated poses and moves you see Spider-Man do in the comics that can't really translate super well into live actions.
The thing I really liked in the Spiders Verse movies is the expressive lenses. You can do so much with just a mask in animation compared to live action
I think animation is just better in general. Its like that invincible meme, live action shows have to use heaps of CGI to mimic a fraction of the power animation has.
Imagine a dark Cyberpunk-genre Spider-Man 2099 animated series... damn, I would love that. The cyberpunk aesthetic of Nueva York just lends itself to a dark, gritty, yet surrealistic take on a possible future of the Marvel universe. 2099's time period is also a period very ripe with storytelling potential. A world post Human vs Mutant war where Mutants and super-powered individuals are ostracized? a corporate-led world where the police is so corrupt that they have a "shoot on sight" orders on Spider-Man on the daily? A world so bad that Dr. Doom is literally considered one of the good guys? Like come on, it's such an interesting world to adapt.
Animation just let's that story's creative shine both figuratively and literally. Apart from budget there are no real limits when it comes to animation. You can do things that simply wouldn't be possible with actors or just CGI. its why so many animes are hard to adapt to live action there are just some things you can do in animation that you can't do in live action.
Even if animation has a low budget, those animated movies can look a lot better than live-action films. Puss In Boots The Last Wish had a budget of 90 million, which is pretty low compared to live-action blockbusters and yet it’s one of the best looking movies I’ve ever seen.
Animation really is a beautiful medium because there's so much love and passion that's taken to the next level, sure traditional cinematography also has that but there's so many limiting factors for what you can and cannot do not to say that any of the live action spidermen are bad but you can really see how the writing generally makes or breaks each interpretation with some aspects being good and there being some really bad interpretations, it's honestly crazy to think how beyond the spider-verse is gonna be the end of an era despite it's major impact on animation in general let's hope they go out with a bang
something i love about spiderverse is how many smaller creators are coming up on my twitter & youtube feed bc of it. i’m finding all kinds of goldmines. this shit goes hard + u got a great voice
I totally agree with, animation is the best for this type of stories the creative freedom animation gives to the authors is unparalleled and with Spider-Man it really seems as the obvious choice tbh.
Yes but that fact is exactly why animation is better for spiderman. Because the things you can do in animation that you can't do in live action are better fits for spiderman, I thought that was the entire point of this video
If anything, that IS the reason you can compare them, the differences between them is why they can even be compared, if they were the same how could you compare them.
I feel like in animation you got all these tools and possibilities to make a lot of things and portray some other things that might look weird or simply wouldn't really work in live action. But when it comes to live action, there's no better way to translate the feeling of wonder of seeing all these fantastical characters moving and interacting with the real world.
Animation is the best medium for Spider-Man in general. Spider-Man does somethings that just wouldn’t work for live action. In animation you are pretty much free to do anything you like. Animation is more creative, expressive and it presents Spider-Man the best way possible.
8:12 This is a great video but I always seem to wonder where the hell were Peter Parker’s parents at so that was actually interesting to see. But yeah across the spider verse is definitely the best Spider-Man movie and best movie to come out this year. I really liked tasm2 but my biggest problem with movie was the green goblin stuff.
@@Yuh_zhimmy No, the stigma’s been around long before that. Even Walt Disney lamented that he was stuck making family films instead of big ambitious works.
I like what u said in the video, I also think that instead of movies Spider Man works better as a tv series if they want it live action because there's so many spiderman storylines and villains that cant all be put together in a few movies
Makes sense. No way home, was the only live action to have all the characters feel natural together. 3 and Tasm 2 woulda benefitted from being in parts or a show
I like that in spectacular spiderman, peter doesn't become spiderman right away. The show takes place a whole summer after he got his powers. He isn't just a dork who got bit by a spider and just woke up the next day buff and filled with confidence but he got time to learn his powers and improve himself off screen.
animation is better because it has more freedom when it comes to animating, while live-action can only do so much without being fully cgi and looking fake.
There were many moments in Spiderman no way home where if i didn't know i was watching a movie i would have thought i was watching some Spiderman gameplay
its funny because i never watched a single spider man live actions (i never felt interessed on it), but i remember watching every episode of The Spetacular Spider Man, i loved it. I also freak out with spiderverse and watched twice in cinema and a lot more at home
Animation is definitely better if you are trying to adapt every part of the Spider-Man mythos (clones, aliens etc) but if your going for a more grounded, realistic setting then I feel live action would work better Tasm1 is a good example. That being said, the spiderverse movies clear every single live action Spider-Man movie.
I find the same thing with TMNT as well. -- with me I love live action for MARVEL just as much as animation but man, animated shows are allowed to do way more crossovers, do more stories DIRECTLY inspired from events in Marvel Comics -- and have less restrictions in terms of which characters that can put in stories. -- now most of this is because of MARVEL not having the FILM RIGHTS to the Fantastic Four / X-Men buuut -- I do see what you're saying.
Yep. Robin, specifically Dick Grayson is my favorite fictional character and I’ve been waiting for years for him to get his due in live-action. He’s one of if not the most integral part of the Batman mythos and Bruce as a character. Heck he was created before Alfred and the JOKER were and yet, the live-action films avoid him like a plague in fear of not being taken seriously. I find that line of think pretty stupid because Robin in the comics has been taken seriously for decades and in pretty much every medium outside of live-action
There are shots and scenes that can be beautifully shown in animation that simply would not work in live action. Spiderverse can make Spider-Man do crazy shit and we believe it and get sucked into it because it's animated.
animation is just better for all super hero movies. You can do way more fantasy elements in animation than in live action. It's made for it. Live action super hero movies just look weird. Comics to animation transfers very well it's the medium it's meant for
Finally someone said it, after watching the spider verse movies and spectacular Spider-Man and comparing them to the tom Holland and toby Maguire movies, animation does such a better job of embracing the character and. You can do so much more with animation when it comes to action and abilities that you can't do with live action. I think live action studios try to make the movies more serious and dark as if the movies aren't about a guy in red white and blue spandex shooting webs from his wrists. Animation has so much more potential and while still keeping my last point in mind I think it would also be cool to see some darker and more serious superhero shows and movies for some of the more serious looking and/or acting heroes from the comics. I think the potential for animated superhero movies and shows has been overlooked as easy content for kids when in reality it has potential to be popular with all age groups if done well. Animation goes far beyond Spider-Man in my opinion and could (and should) be done with many superheroes, Spider-Man very much included as I think we've seen with the spider verse movies. Also as I start to pay attention to the live action movies more its a lot harder to believe that the actors are supposed to be anywhere from sophmores to seniors. The oldest looking people at my high school still don't look like toby Maguire.
im with you on this. i like all the live action spider-man movies, or at least some things about them, but animation makes spider-man’s unnatural movements look smoother and less forced.
my man, i always had the same thought, in my vision, animation its like a comic book alive, the live action movies cant represent exatcly how the story is, the cgi for some scenes would be impossible and the cost to do that specifc scenes would be out of this world, they could still do it, but in animation the story can be identical to the hq, has more liberty to do complicated scenes with much effects, and the thing i think its the principal problem in movies, its that every director has their own style, so they make the movie in the form that they interpretate it, but how i said, in the animation everything can be done without problem, representing the character without problem with the essence of the character predominating to the original content.
This seems a lot easier to say right now. I can say that many superheroes are animated well and definitely can be done better as far as being animated but there are also times where I feel like I can relate a lot less because of them being animated when some of the live action stuff can be done so well. Take batman for example the best batman movies by far were with Christian Bale and it brought a real feel to it and although I love some stories and arcs of animated batman Ive never had that same connected experience with them.
Well batman easily translates to live action. Comparing that to let’s say, If they were to make a live action Plastic Man or blue beetle movie. Shit would be trash (blue beetle does not look promising)
@travennnnn6407 thats fair too for sure. Im hust saying in light of how great the Spiderverses are its easy to just say that the live action isnt nearly as good too. Like Iron Man has been amazing as a live action character. So has black panther and many X-men like wolverine. But yeah I see what you mean.
@@sawyerquint381 yeah I get what you saying. RN animated movies are a lot better than Live Action it’s just about who’s up at the moment and because of the spider verse its very easy to say Animation is up.
I really hope spider-man freshman year turns out to be great. It's a different take on adapting a comic book art style to animation but it still looks so good. Especially love the ditko influence after reading his run on spider-man
The way I see it, animation is better suited for comic book adaptations than live-action. Both in western animation with comic books and anime with manga. Both comics and animation are closely related, as both require artists to draw the concepts, characters and stories. One tells the stories in panels, the other tells it in moving pictures. On top of that, the animation artists can imagine the choreography unlike what live-action could ever possibly achieve. Imagine how the fight scenes being drawn were unlike any other fight scene we've seen, like Spider-Man vs The Spot, who can create and control portals. I'd say my favorite fight scenes, throughout Spider-Man's multimedia franchise, are from The Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon.
The baby part makes a lot more sense when you remember that not only is she super strong & super tough but the baby probably inherited her powers like Mayday (+ for most of the movie she seems to have taken a more ‘mission control’ role)
I think animation works super well for anything fantastical but also spiderverse really takes it to another level the way they play with backgrounds and colors
Live action comic book movies/series feel limited. In the Secret Invasion series, the Skrulls are supposed to be Avengers level threat but there are no heroes present which I think is a wasted potential. The Civil War movie (which I think is good but has a limited cast of heroes) and the abscence of the F4 and X-Men (which is understandable since they had no rights for the mutants at the time). I just hope the MCU do justice to Secret Wars.
As Guillermo del Toro said in his Oscars acceptance speech "Animation is cinema... not a genre for kids, it's a Medium" Hoping this one wins Oscar again
The Marvel/Disney Television Animation show Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur was animated with the style and vibrancy of Spider-Verse in mind. That’s about as close as we’re getting for a while.

Animation is just better for fictional franchises in general. Live action is limited by all of the constraints of real life whereas animation is only limited by the animators skill and time they have to work. Also, animation is often used in live action movies/shows in the form of CGI anyways as it’s needed in order to create things that can’t be done practically. So even in live action, animation is often better at capturing fictional ideas.
Awesome video! You should add some more music next time, something like "Aruarian Dance by H1gh". I was listening to it in the background and it fit so well with the vibes
i'm not gonna lie before even watching this video, every animated spiderman cartoon (except 2017 spiderman and maybe ultimate spiderman) is really good. Live action just can't capture it the way animated shows do
We've already established that animation is the greatest product for a movie........ (the unlimited potential)......... live action TAKES A MOIST CRAP on all of that, Thank you and Goodnight
If we're being for real this true for 90% of all superheroes

I totally agree with, animation is the best for this type of stories the creative freedom animation gives to the authors is unparalleled and with Spider-Man it really seems as the obvious choice tbh.
Bruh, this video is doing scarily good.1k views and 60 subs??? Thank you for watching.

Personally, I don't think they can be compared. There are certain thing you can do in animation that you can't do in live action and vice versa.
true
Yes but that fact is exactly why animation is better for spiderman. Because the things you can do in animation that you can't do in live action are better fits for spiderman, I thought that was the entire point of this video
you just proved his point
You pretty much just proved his point lol
If anything, that IS the reason you can compare them, the differences between them is why they can even be compared, if they were the same how could you compare them.
My man’s just woke up after seeing all the spidermen movies out there lmaoo
My god they did Goblin terrible .
They typically die when Peter is 4-5 years old
In all honesty, when trying to adapt comic books accurately. Animation is the way to go.
I adore small youtubers bro we're all in this together it's beautiful
Yes. No other medium can fully capture the fluidity of spiderman like animation can.
Animation is a better medium for a lot of things. But people have such a stigma towards it as kids stuff.
You can blame movies like trolls and the minions for that lmao
@@Yuh_zhimmy No, the stigma’s been around long before that. Even Walt Disney lamented that he was stuck making family films instead of big ambitious works.
This true for literally every Batman animation. Almost every Batman animation adaptation I watch is very good imo.
Exactly, I just dont see live action being better
There were many moments in Spiderman no way home where if i didn't know i was watching a movie i would have thought i was watching some Spiderman gameplay
its funny because i never watched a single spider man live actions (i never felt interessed on it), but i remember watching every episode of The Spetacular Spider Man, i loved it. I also freak out with spiderverse and watched twice in cinema and a lot more at home
ong falling asleep to your voice. not saying your boring but your ong soothing
Not just Spider-man tho I do think animation is the superior medium in making comic book movies
Right! Another good example is Batman. There’s hasn’t been a live action version of Bats that accurately captured his speed and skill.
Animation is definitely better if you are trying to adapt every part of the Spider-Man mythos (clones, aliens etc) but if your going for a more grounded, realistic setting then I feel live action would work better Tasm1 is a good example. That being said, the spiderverse movies clear every single live action Spider-Man movie.
these videos are all hitting bro, keep up the good work
Thank you 💯
Animation just works for more fantastical concepts in general
I heard that change your damn alarm batery i know damn well that shits driving you insane
Bro's voice git built in bass boost
You were talking about hoping vids would gain traction. And boy did this one gain some!
so true. can’t wait for more spiderman content enjoyed the video man
Thank for watching gang
Fantastic video! Didn't even realize this was such a small channel, because the quality was so good!!
animation is just better for all super hero movies. You can do way more fantasy elements in animation than in live action. It's made for it. Live action super hero movies just look weird. Comics to animation transfers very well it's the medium it's meant for
Live action can definitely still work, but these directors don’t how to do it right.
@@Yuh_zhimmy Yes it can but no matter how good the directors are it will always be worse than animation
Given a good animation director as well
Spv 1 & 2 are GOATed
This is fax
3 too. I'm from the future.
Honestly you can say this about all superhero’s tbh
fr
Anything is better animated imo.
Animation frees you from the constraints of real world
Finally someone said it, after watching the spider verse movies and spectacular Spider-Man and comparing them to the tom Holland and toby Maguire movies, animation does such a better job of embracing the character and.
I love the animated spiderman way more than the live action spiderman.
Btw, I like your voice and how deep it is.
1:38 as a Florida resident who just heard thunder outside I am sweating
9:57 Real
dude holy shit you just inspired me to finally start my channel again, thanks man
damn bro hearting this reminded me i didn't do shit 💀
i also think in animation, spider-man can be more expressive with his mask on.
I think we all would get bored of all the live action superhero films by the MCU, and maybe we could see a change, rise in superhero animation films
incredible video,i could feel the bass from your voice in my bones 9/10
I don’t think the spider verse movies would be as good had they made them as live action movies tbh
The baby part makes a lot more sense when you remember that not only is she super strong & super tough but the baby probably inherited her powers like Mayday (+ for most of the movie she seems to have taken a more ‘mission control’ role)
7:23 bro your smoke alarm is dying lol
Once the spider verse is over we need the same people to make a new spider man animated movie.
Marvels probably gonna turn things around since phase 4 was a horror show.
You can’t get away from from MEEEEE!!!
I’ll chase you to the end of the earth!!
SHOCKER!!!!!!!
You gonna be big real soon
Time will tell
Great job man! Genuinely I loved the take on this whole thing. I hope you get that traction there you deserve it
Thank you💯
As Guillermo del Toro said in his Oscars acceptance speech "Animation is cinema... not a genre for kids, it's a Medium"
Hoping this one wins Oscar again
Animation is the best medium for everything
You sound like miles trying to lower his voice talking to his dad
I’ve journeyed far and long for someone who gets it, now I can rest easy 🙌🏾
The Marvel/Disney Television Animation show Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur was animated with the style and vibrancy of Spider-Verse in mind. That’s about as close as we’re getting for a while.
Imagine dude with the new sub count after 59 🤣🤣
Must be wild, crazy good video, loved it ❤❤
This guy's voice is deeper than the OceanGate sub
💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
I'd definitely say so, you can do a lot more animation-wise regarding a story and even the animation itself. You can go really wild.
Animation is better but seeing live action is more in a way kinda eye opening because it’s more real
My only gripe with the movie is that Christopher Daniel Barnes isn't in it at all. We already have GOAT Josh Keaton, but GOAT CDB deserves the love too.
You deserve WAY MORE SUBS LIKE GOD!! The Only Critique I Have is that your voice is a tad too deep and sometimes it is inaudible. But other than that 8.7/10
man I kno 😂😂, UA-cam is inadvertently helping me speak clear tho.
bro i didnt even notice ur sub count. i thought it was around 18k
Hopefully we'll get there one day.
I cant imagine a spider tv series on the same level as spider verse. That would be so amazing. I could wait for that.
But yeah I love spider verse and im somehow already sad that there will only be one more spiderverse movie
Feel like you can say that for most superhero’s
I love how you don’t meat ride Spider-Man 2 or Tobey migurie like every other Spider-Man fan
love those movies to death, they never really hit the Spider-Man mark like the shows
Because it's a good movie? Sorry you Spider-Verse fanboys can't accept that. I feel the same way about ITSV 😂
@@ericdxfan511 Tobey is a mid tier at best and can only portray a good Peter Parker
@@Nexusstorie Let me take a guess, he doesn't joke enough as Spider-Man
@@ericdxfan511 that is one factor out of many
This is amazingly put together oml! Your voice is calm your timing is great and you kept me evenly entertained the whole 10 minutes! Which- is really sad to say because my attention span has dwindled so much lmaoo,, but nah, good on you for growing like you did! Now you’re at a little over a thousand and I’m confident in being apart of that :] you just got a new sub 🤠
I usually save music for last while editing, got lazy towards the end tho.
@@Akain777 fair enough lol
This dude definitely reaching 50k plus by the end of this year fr
That would be crazy
ur so awesome keep it up man u deserve more
Thank you
i'm not gonna lie before even watching this video, every animated spiderman cartoon (except 2017 spiderman and maybe ultimate spiderman) is really good. Live action just can't capture it the way animated shows do
That's what I'm sayin 😂😂
Bruh, I didn’t even realise your under 1k subs, your video is so good it’s on the level of most bigger UA-camrs. Love the video btw
Spiderverse, Insomaniac Spiderman, DC animated Batman movies, Arkham Batman. Hell yeah animated is superior.
Great editing!!!
Thank you
We've already established that animation is the greatest product for a movie........ (the unlimited potential)......... live action TAKES A MOIST CRAP on all of that,
Thank you and Goodnight
this guys voice genuinely got my speakers boomin
animation is just a better medium for storytelling
It’s a huge mix of animation and cgi so there not only in the booth there’s quite a bit of physical acting that gets cell shaded .
fr? thats cool.
Netflix in canada still has the 3 rami spiderman movies, both amazing spiderman, and homecoming
this commentary is great I can see this channel getting to 1k even 2k
another decent vid or 2 maybe ill make it there
Ironic how you were talking about the period were you’re just hoping for traction and this video took off, good job gang you deserve it+*
