You forgot the most important feature of the Iron mass. Any weapon MTX skins or effect on your main hand iron mass will also apply to your skeletons wielding it.

fun fact about the march of the legion tech: the +5 to aura gem does no specify active gem and indeed works on awakened generosity and therfore getting it up to level 10 wich provides +2 to supported aura levels bc that bonus is provided every 5 levels of those awakened gems. normally just very hard to reach. common start used to get the mana cost under control is the, used a lot more in hc in general, timeless keystone "Power of Purpose" wich reduces your maximum mana and therfore drastically reduces the cost of the blessing
worth noting for those that haven't played around with it already, awakened generosity in the march of the legion boots grants additional gem levels at higher levels. With +2 to aura gems, a dark seer and ashes or +1 all in the amulet slot you can get Awakened gen to at least level 10 which grants +2 levels to the aura it supports. This setup lands you a total of 10-12 levels depending on whether or not the boots are appropriately double corrupted for an absolutely massive level 30+ aura!

Unfortunately Abhorrent Interrogation doesn't work with minions, the unique mod says "Enemies take 4% increased Elemental Damage from *_YOUR_* Hits for each Withered you have inflicted on them"

Recently, I have been considering how Iron Mass can be used without Summon Skeletons, mainly as a lower budget item to do a chaos-hit-based build with a physical spell like Reap, EK, or BV. Some of the tentative ideas I have put together have looked really promising at a low budget.
Another suggestion for items: t0 uniques that arent used, drops from older bosses such as the Elder(his bow,wand etc), weapons from the other (non chayla) breach bosses(the ul-netol Scythe or axe whatever it was, the bow from Xoph, the shield from Esh etc) and the green boss from delve(i think he is only farmed because of the ring)

Alberon's warpath for permanent skeletons. After some testing, Gem level stacking Skeletons, is still far stronger than Iron Mass. Even Min-Maxed. You can In-league, get Lvl 40 Vaal Summon Skeletons with the only BIG investment obviously being Lvl5 Awakened Empower. It's still fine at Lvl 39 With a Lvl4 Empower which is fairly cheap. This also gets past the final break point for Max Skellies on the gem at 39.
Since the changes to Unholy Might it seems possible to play with this as a Skeleton poison build. Maybe this is the usurper for the throne after Poison SRS?
@@hdes937119 Shouldn't be an issue. You only need to hit with Iron Mass once every 4 seconds to get triple dmg, and using Haste + 2 12 passive minion clusters with tier 1 atk speed/35% effect will make any minion build have insane atk spd.
Love the idea of this build! The fantasy of being a warrior leading skeletons into battle with thunderous fury! Though like you said the playstyle with how the skeletons behave might be a big no no. Hmmmm it’s on the maybe list for sure
I think a good deep dive would be Nebuloch and its synergy with the reworked endurance charges. A DW jugg can get 7% reduced elemental hit dmg per endurance charge and you should comfortably get 10 charges on charge stacker. Outside of the insane amount of armour, chaos res and phys as extra fire
Reduced elemental damage taken per charge on Nebuloch is not the same stat as elemental damage reduction from endurance charges/jugg ascendancy, that layer of mitigation is applied after EDR in the calculation
I played an iron mass skeleton build this league, was crazy at points, but had issues. Also do the Sire of Shards next! I have always wanted that item to be good!
This is one of those niche cases in which this item is actually very good but falls into a strange niche build like a melee skeleton build. I’m thinking of thinking of like some sort of aurabot skeleton summoner might be pretty good

Wouldn't Wilma's Requital be a good option for a build like this? Probably a bit stretched, but something along Wilma's + conduit and a bit of frenzy + eldritch battery should give tons of AS to minions, obviously on a necro. Considering the high DPS values of lightning attacks on a build with tons of mobs, gaining high attack speed should increase significantly the damage.
Iron mass' built in converting phys to chaos and applying wither on hit weirdly makes it worth using for early map coc reap / exsanguinate builds that go on to use unholy might in other ways, completely ignoring the minion mods.
My enthousiast item is Incandescent heart. In a elementalist ignite setup it's so good and I don't really understand why not more people use it. Tho it's not rare, just not as common.
I had an idea to make a Saboteur build with this sword, skelies and pyroclast mine of sabotage but I`m too lazy to try. This mine has huge added flat damage aura to enemies and it will be trippled with this sword. Smite will provite up to 470, and pyroclast mine up to 3k on lvl 25.
this definite lack of mention of rallying cry =( . Not only for the dps boost but also the taunt that would make use of the taunt ascendancy on the champion that you mentionned
And the covenant for the unhole might setup? A lvl 25 added chaos dmg would be nice, but dual wielding and having no defenses on the chest would make the build super squishy 😂
for people who are interested on how min maxed you could get with the support auras setup, iron marches + smite + wrath. Iron Marches (+5 Aura roll) Double Corrupted with +2 Socketed Aura gems and +1 Socketed Gems Wrath 21 Vaal Smite 21 Awakened Generosity 6/23 Awakened Empower 5 equates to: Wrath 36/23 Vaal Smite 36/23 A. Generosity 14/23 A. Empower 6 for a grand total of, if I can trust PoB: 137 to 2,426 added lightning damage. You can get it to be lucky, get an Ashes and additional +Lightning gem on different gear pieces, but this is the max i could get with what jumped into my mind. The highest weapon i could find, 2 handed and all, was 47 to 884 lightning damage on Standard. It has a crucible tree, synth implicit, 15% increased explicit elemental damage modifier, additional lightning damage on the tree. thats a LOT of damage. but the price would be astronomical. Prices in Standard: March +5 with the corrupts would be 1.2 mirrors A. Generosity 6/23 is 35/150 div, depending if the people would sell it or not. A. Empower is 1.3 mirrors Vaal Smite 21 is 40 div Wrath 21 is nothing, a div maybe of you dont want to do it yourself. Thats 2.5, lets be generous and say 2.6 mirrors for a SINGLE slot for the most damage setup just for the auras. Pretty expensive if you ask me. Is it worth it? Probably.

No you couldn't, because the triple damage only applies to hits with the weapon and the skeletons will only wield the weapon when you have it equipped in your main hand. A level 20 skeleton normally does about ~1020dps while this sword does approx ~1000dps based on rolls(prior to any added damage)
Even ignoring the fact that you wouldnt want to sacrifice support link like that in main skill - automation can only support instant cast spells - it wont work for skellies.
i honestly hope they give a decent nerf to adorned, this game has literally become Path of Adorned, literally 90% of the builds in the game lead to a adorned build, otherwise they are just inferior in every way to a adorned setup of that build.
Just use the hidden blade ;) The only problem is that you must play skeleton....which currently suck. They die all the time and barely do any dps. Sure adorned can be interesting here but the life is horrid of skeletons and they will live for max 2 sec. The best weapon for this is the hidden blade, since you will constantly attack automating the weapon. But all together is....poo

Attack rate is like night and day thought, and the whole point of going poison is about stacking attack speed.

I built around Iron Mass two leagues ago. I truly enjoyed how active the gameplay is, however, it felt very expensive to bring that build to ubers.

Actually, Awakened Generosity gives +2 or even +3 (with perfect double corrupt) to gem levels when socketed in March of the Legion.

Doesn't Alberon's Warpath make skeleton Warriors permanent and follow you? Wouldn't it pair well with the Iron Mass.
They're useful for mapping because you can then convocate the skeletons
In theory it sounds good. In practice, I'm not sure you can get defense and life high enough to ensure your skeletons survive.

This is an extreme glass cannon build. I played it last league. You have zero defense really and hope the skeletons 1 shot everything.
Would Perquil's Toe synergize well with the lightning version ? Rolling twice should work really well with Volatility and Lightning imo

Unfortunately, the modifier on Abhorrent Interrogation only applies its dmg buff to your elemental hits.

Have you actually tested this? Because it says "hits with this weapon", and you're hitting with the hidden blade not iron mass.
