When you get around to the Aerialbots, remember what I wrote about Silverbolt's hip hinges on the tfwiki: they will shatter at the slightest provocation and certainly at the force required to turn his legs to transform him. Daft engineering.
I always found motor masters head funny, cause it’s a megatron situation where his actual toy face was ignored and they used his stupid box head kibble as his real face
Menasor has always been my favourite Combiner and I actually liked the Combiner Wars show, but the voice they gave him was painfully annoying. He got a better portrayal in the Devestation game.
Love the Stunticons. Between myself and a couple of friends we had them all as kids. I had Breakdown and Drag Strip. No idea where they are now. Always like Motormaster. The audacity of having the entire cab of a truck for feet was something I always enjoyed.
Great review mate. The Stunticons are awesome, I only owned Breakdown as a kid but always loved the team. My two fave G1 combiners are the Terrorcons (the only set that I managed to complete back in 87 and the Seacons (I love all the weird G1 monster/creature stuff) A close third for me would be the Combaticons/Bruticus.
Optimus Prime still beat Motormaster in a head on collision. Prime had a minor headache after transforming into robot mode but Motormaster was unconscious.
What the hell??!! I owned these guys for decades (before unwisely giving them to my nephews 😣) and I had no idea about that motormaster repair bay mode!!
This was my first Autobot combiner back in the day. Actually, it was the only one I bought because I thought the other's were just rubbish. Interesting to see the problem with Fireflight's wing isn't unique. That happened to mine quite some time ago. It's my understanding the launcher mechanism actually worked in the original Japanese release, but those parts were removed for the international release. The only other combiners I bought back then were the Constructicons and the Combaticons. I found their overall designs and stories from the animation and comics to have been the most interesting out of the lot that used that gimmick.
I still have my old Stunticons with scuffed stickers and missing all weaponry save for Motormaster’s sword (and with Menasor’s left horn broken off for some reason); about the only G1 team I still have together save for Bruticus, via RiD Ruination [did the UK release not paint Menasor’s eyes?]
For reasons unknown to me (pawnshop I think) I owned a G1 dragstrip as a child. None of the others just him. This is unusual becuase I was a bayverse/armada child
I will say, I find it rather funny that you remember the Stunticons mainly from the show, because hoo _boy_ is Menasor ugly as hell in the original cartoon. Bad proportions, legs are a mess, toy-inaccurate, and I swear the animators either couldn't make his elbowless car-arms work as arms or they just forgot half the time, because every other scene he's in, he goes from having car-arms to wearing cars over a pair of white box arms. Most of the early Scramble City characters have character model issues, but he seems to be hit particularly hard.
First G1 combiner I completed. Love Dragstrip and Dead End's G1 figures and Dead End looks much better than the ugly animation model. I loved when they reissued the Combiner teams in 1989/1990 as they scaled nicely with the Actionmasters who I also loved. My Motormaster beat the stuffing out of AM Optimus on a regular basis. Love Menasor's face sculpt. Great review as always 👏
This set had been a holy grail of mine for decades, and I finally got one recently. It would have cost me $140, but instead, I traded in a bunch of crappy transformers(which, let's be honest, is every transformer that's not one of the Stunticons).
I'm pretty sure my opinion on g1 scramble city combiners usually are "look at this loser, they're amazing" YES they look terrible compared to the new ones YES they are undeniably the best
As much as I like the g1 stunticons and do not get me wrong there cool and all but come on there no combaticons now there the best. (This is my opinion other opinions my very)
'Except me, I wanted Metroplex', made me guffaw like a donkey. Noice.
Ok I love the little ending bit of dead end giving his gun to dragstrip so he wouldn't feel left out, It's oddly sweet.

Love the vid but where's repugnus. Where is the funky little guy.
He's very nice. I loved the group and I really wish the were given justice in Combiner Wars

Wake yo ass up comrade, menasor getting a 3rd chance

I do love the Seacons, I'll have to dig them out
There is something about Motormaster. He's so cool.
Why does Motormaster even need to combine, he can crush Optimus Prime beneath his foot, his feet are literally the size of Optimus Prime.
How do I keep on finding you on the internet

Repugnus:WHAT THE SCRAP DID I TOLD YOU ABOUT MAKING PUNS!! 🤬
Menasor was awesome and the only combiner I had completed growing up.
Love the ending of the video. So heartwarming.

Awesome video. I love your videos.
I have a Motormaster and this makes me want to track down the rest of the team (and all the Menasor bits Motormaster has lost through the years)

While the robot modes leave a lot to be desired, the vehicle modes look fantastic!! Not bad for 20th century toy designs 🙃
I had this set as a kid
Were Menasor's eyes always blank like that?
Sure
The truck doesn't pivot at the join between cab and trailer. Prime did that two years before. Sort it out. Sort it.
Wait, Metroplex isn't...
Gavin these scramble city reviews have to stop at this rate I'll want to own all the combiner teams
