- Pool Handicaps | Winners and Losers | IMPROVE and LEARN
This video is my opinion on how pool handicapping effects the game we play and love. As a player who perhaps is receiving some kind of handicap, use it as a learning experience and improve as a player.

I’m just getting back into pool after a long hiatus. Years ago I was ranked a 7 in apa 8ball, I found myself in a thought situation as I’m trying to get back into competition. I was asked my ranking, I felt the best thing was to be honest and tell them my old ranking.
That has been both good and bad. On the bad side, I don’t have the consistency I used to have, i find myself missing easy shape or shots regularly that someone of that rank shouldn’t. Hat makes the tournaments hard to place high in. On the good side, I have left myself no room to play down to a lesser opponent, I’m forced to try to play at a high level each match. And then I get that surge of accomplishment when I run a good rack or two and beat a good player.
Great video, my opinion that a good handicapping system will make all better. The good will never get to play down to an inferior player, forcing them to hone their craft. And lesser players will have a chance to learn and hopefully love the game enough to better themselves. The more players we can get into the game, the better for all of us that love pool.
I couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks for commenting! 👍✊

Lol 👍
Throughout the years I have figured out that the best answer for any pool related question is “it depends”. 😂
Yup. It depends on the player...and just like in your last video, goal setting and mindset are important.
Nice video bud.
Thanks old friend!
Please do a video on keeping the pool ball on table during an 8 ball break. I have a great break but here recently I have come down with this disease in which I send cue balls to far off places via air mail every damn time I break. Please help!
LOL🤣🤣. Where are you breaking from? Head ball...second ball? And what English are you putting on the cue ball if any? We have to cure this disease🤜🤛👍
@@HereAfterBilliards I usually break straight to the head ball because my second ball break is not great. I try to hit just a tad under center. Usually I break from the center of the table at about 1st diamond. Usually off the rail.
I disagree a bit. Fargo doesn't benefit the good players any more than the weak players. It benefits most the players that are improving the fastest. By the time their fargo is updated, they're always a few steps ahead of that. If you stop improving, you're sunk, no matter where on the spectrum you are.
Yeah for sure. So it goes to my point that it depends on you. I think we're saying the same thing but in different ways😂
@@HereAfterBilliards I dunno sounds like one of you is speaking Spanish and the other Portuguese.
