Hey Joe , hope everything‘s going good for you. They having to rebuild my engine and transmission, neck, bearings, belt, and sprockets and my rear tire, but most of it is covered by the warranty.🙏🏻
I worked in that area several times and remember those flies but I thought they were mayflies. Fish love them. I’m not 100% on weather they’re mayflies or not.
Have you seen the video of making waterproof tarps? Pretty simple You need a pail ,the size of what you want to use One tube of pure clear silicone and mineral spirits Mix well and dunk whatever you want to water proof Hang in the sun Use disposable dish gloves .. I thought about redoing my rain gear and tent tarp Done bedsheet and it worked great for improvised shelter . Obviously don’t use on tent as the smell might persist Longer you leave it out hanging the better. Keep on riding!
I'll never forget this. Crossing the Mississippi one summer night at Red Wing, MN. I could see this glitter shimmering on the road in my rear view mirrors, turns out it was Mayfly wings. On the eastern bridge the flies were a half inch thick on the road. They were hatching out of the larval stage in the water and ended up in the road. The police were there directing traffic down to one lane because it was like driving on grease. Never saw anything like it.
I was born and raised in DesMoines IA. If you're out in that area, you need to try their local itialan sausage. Called Graziano Brothers Sausage. It is really good. Every time I go home, I get 25 lbs of it. 👍❤️✌️🇺🇸
Hey Joe how did you find the deal on that room? Just a google search or is there a specific site you use? Those unexpected stop overs can be expensive and I'd love to know your technique.
@@dirtymotorcyclevagabond I'll check those out, thanks! I've offered before and I'll offer again; You're always welcome to use my shop or throw a tent in the woods behind the house, N Ga.off 75 halfway between ATL and Chatt.
Illini State Park is in my Neighborhood.....Go through Marseilles all the time....Starved Rock State Park not far from there....Nice twisty roads there (for Illinois)....Another place I go to all the time
Since it appears the new tensioner is same as old one, will you need to replace them every 27,000 miles ? That would kinda suck. Any company make an upgrade perhaps ?
Oh yes! Finding that good Italian sausage with the fennel in it is so damn good! It's like it soaks into your bones and it's all you can think about.. it hooks me just like nicotine does 😵💫😋
1st off surprised the NC750 gave you trouble, they don’t make em like they used too. 2nd off it’s nice to see a “Harley” shop that ain’t hating on you for what you ride.
I always head out west for four or five weeks every year. I waited for it to get too hot this year, so I plan on going in September. I want to visit Sage Mountain in Montana to check it out. I have a couple of BMW motorcycles: a 2005 Dakar and a new G650GS. I always travel on my Dakar; it's the most dependable motorcycle I've ever owned, and I've owned a few. Be safe...Greetings from Murfreesboro, Tennessee!
Hey Joe if your ever in northern Minnesota try Fabroni sausage. You can find it on the “iron range” Hibbing/chisholm Virginia Grand Rapids area…it’s well know for being some of the best around
Another cool video. Just curious did you cross Iowa on route 20. I did last year, pleasant road with lots of nicely spaced towns for gas and food, stoped in Sac City to check out the largest popcorn ball in the world lol.
You must have done a lot of editing to make it look like you knew what you were doing. 😂 It's a good thing it was easy to get out. I've had a tensioner spring do the same thing on another piece of equipment. The spring just cuts its way through the softer steel of the bracket
Lmao 🤣 Usually I throw the mistakes and all in there. I;'m not above looking stupid! But it was really pretty straightforward although it took awhile bcos I was paranoid lol
Trials. You’re within range if scooting through favored route a third time. Rescue available. Realize you don’t want to get further north into this dangerous turf. Culinary adventure awaits.
How many miles do you usually ride daily when traveling to the Sturgis event? Assuming good weather and no Motorcycle issues. BTW $40 for a Hotel room is miraculous. I'm glad things worked out well for you.
Joe, enjoy your channel. What are those ear phones/headset/ear plugs you are using? I need something that works and fits around my neck so I don’t loose them. Thanks
I'd be VERY cautious ordering parts from EBay, I've had a number of experiences and so have friends. For example you may order a part for a Honda and it looks super legit, it even comes in a "Honda" box with "Honda" silk screened on the part but it's fake Chinese made CRAP that will fail very quickly. IMO for internal engine components I would only go thru a reputable dealer...just my $.02
Remove the plug from that clear tube hanging down and let the oil inside of it out. Keep the plug out so oil will vent out on its own and not accumulate like it has.
I'm just glad it all came together before it became catastrophic.
Corey is an awesome guy. One of my favorite people.
Absolutely 💯 thanks for your help putting me in contact
Great vid, Joe. Covered a lot in very little time. Good fix on the bike. Sure helps to make friends, eh?
Yessir 👍
I like the way you convey a lot of information without a million words. Good luck with your bike!
Appreciate you saying that! Cheers ✌️
What would life be without friends! A little breakdown now and then keeps us humble. Carry on Sir!
You got that right! ✌️
Thank God for good friends and good connections. It's good to know there are still people out there that will help out a perfect stranger.
💯
Looks like you caught that tensioner just in time. Phew!
Onward
No kidding! 💯
Hey Joe , hope everything‘s going good for you. They having to rebuild my engine and transmission, neck, bearings, belt, and sprockets and my rear tire, but most of it is covered by the warranty.🙏🏻
Dang man. Sorry to hear that. Glad you’re under warranty (mostly). Hopefully they’ll bang it out soon
Good karma for you Corey! Thanks for keeping Joe on the road, God Bless!
❤️
Good one joe sounds just the same with the clutch deal that I had a small part on the parts ...peace
Yessir ✌️
Dang, hate you had the issue, good the timing was what it was. Haven’t seen a forty two dollar room in ages!
👍
Good to know twin cam Harleys aren't the only bikes with tensioner issues .
Awesome video and awesome content can’t wait for the next video Thank’s Joe
More to come!
I don’t suppose you visited the Iowa Machine Shed? Great home cooking. Or it was about 20 years ago! 😂👍
I’ll try to check it out
Awesome to have great friends and the bike community seems to lookout for one another.
I worked in that area several times and remember those flies but I thought they were mayflies. Fish love them. I’m not 100% on weather they’re mayflies or not.
Glad you were able to get that fixed. I'm glad I'm not the only one who calls it a valve cover and not a rocker cover..
Of course 😅

Great video Joe. I like the way you fully explain, your break down and how you fix it.
You are so welcome brother. Glad you enjoyed it
That was maybe the cleanest shop I've seen. And loved the floor coating.
👍💯
Glad it all worked out for you Joe, ride on baby.
You know it! 😎
I ride through there all the time. That's wild.
Haha awesome!
Great video Joe. Still have this Hot Sauce for you. Bill
What luck to get that part and a shop to do the work in 👍
No kidding! 😅
A lot of strange parts on that Honda Joe. Cam chains? Love the camp cooking. Ride safe.
No kidding 👍 thanks bra
Glad you got it all fixed, that has to be a relief, travel well Godspeed
Thanks bro
It’s an inspiration seeing you tackle something like that, Joe. Big props, mate.
Thanks man. Wasn;t too bad

I have the Choice hotels app, Agoda, and G Maps. If I absolutely have to find a hotel, I'll shop around those apps and compare

Greetings from Switzerland after a ride to the mountains with my scooter 👋
Haha awesome! Cheers ✌️
Love your outlook buddy. Hope to see you in Ocean City Maryland, if not I'll catch up with you at Biketoberfest
SOunds good man. Not planning on it, but you never know!! 😅
Should def be at Biketoberfest
Great I'm glad you got the bike fixed it causes stress, Have a great time in sturgis joe.
Thanks brother
Great fix Joe. Keep up the vids 👍👍👍
Always! 👍

The new one looked a tiny bit different, but it was hard to tell bcos the other was so worn out. Gonna suck if I gotta do this every 27k
Nice tech tip video. Hope Strugis goes well.
Won't be the same without ya bro
Oh yes! Finding that good Italian sausage with the fennel in it is so damn good! It's like it soaks into your bones and it's all you can think about.. it hooks me just like nicotine does 😵💫😋
Hahaha it's addictive! ✌️
Great video Joe! I was just wondering what Country you are going to visit this Winter?
Definitely going back to the Philippines. May head over to Malaysia or Indonesia or maybe Vietnam for a bit for a visa run 😎
1st off surprised the NC750 gave you trouble, they don’t make em like they used too. 2nd off it’s nice to see a “Harley” shop that ain’t hating on you for what you ride.
I find that most real motorcyclists don’t care

Calamus looks like my kinda town!
I wonder if Abe Vrooman is still the sausage king of Chicago?😂😂
Yea I like those small towns too. Not sure lol
I work all through that area (Eastern Iowa).
Cool ✌️
Another cool video. Just curious did you cross Iowa on route 20. I did last year, pleasant road with lots of nicely spaced towns for gas and food, stoped in Sac City to check out the largest popcorn ball in the world lol.

Man, you're welcome to crash on my couch if you come through Indiana again, I am up north in Elwood. Told Scotty the same thing!
Thanks! 😎
Good video joe
Thanks 😎

Thanks man. Riding out here, I was doing about 200-300 per day
@@dirtymotorcyclevagabond Cool
One o . Ottawa ILL . Big outside gun range I've been going to for years out there.
👍🏽
Joe, enjoy your channel. What are those ear phones/headset/ear plugs you are using? I need something that works and fits around my neck so I don’t loose them. Thanks
Current set is a blutooth Anker deal. It works fairly well. I'm getting a lot of wind noise from the Simpson helmet so looking into alternatives...
That seemed to be a fairly simple job on the tensioner. From what I’ve read, that engine is supposed to be half of a Honda Fit car engine.
Yeah it was pretty simple luckily. I heard that too
Vinegar and Pork, Eastern NC BBQ, delicious.
Absolutely! I grew up on it 😅
👍
😎🤙
You dodged a bullet on that one for sure.
Definitely!
Pay to camp, renting hotel rooms, golf carts? You are getting soft Joe. 🤣
You don’t see me doing it often. I almost never get hotels in the US. Wouldn’t have even got that one if the bike wasn’t misbehaving
Those are mayflies
👍
Engine problem like this would never happen this soon in a Honda car engine.
It was kind of a known problem with this model
SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT A HARLEY CUZ! I HAVE 105K ON MY 107 ROAD GLIDE AND HASNT BEEN IN SHOP YET ,,,, STAGE1!
Lol

COuple years ago. The quality wasn't quite so good this time.
