Tanto Point Knife With Mammoth Fossil Handle

In this video I show the step-by-step construction of a knife forged in Damascus steel with a handle made from fossilized mammoth teeth.
I've already presented a similar piece here, but this one has some differences. Among them the longer, upwardly curved blade, the rounded pommel and the engraving, which was made by my friend Rodrigo Silva with motifs suggested by its owner. The skull drawing is my own, adapted by Rodrigo for this piece.
I like this type of model because the integral construction makes the piece very robust, and I recently learned to appreciate the tip so much, which has a great piercing capacity combined with high mechanical resistance.

Neste vídeo mostro o passo a passo da construção de uma faca forjada em aço damascus com empunhadura feita de dente fossilizado de mamute.
Já apresentei uma peça parecida por aqui, mas essa tem algumas diferenças. Entre elas a lâmina mais longa e curvada para cima, o pomo arredondado e o engrave, que foi feito pelo meu amigo Rodrigo Silva com motivos sugeridos pelo seu dono. O desenho da caveira é de minha autoria, adaptado pelo Rodrigo para essa peça.
Gosto desse tipo de modelo porque a construção integral torna a peça muito robusta, e recentemente aprendi a apreciar a ponta tanto, que tem uma grande capacidade perfurante aliada a elevada resistência mecânica.

The pictures and video do not really show how beautiful this knife is. The size of the knife is perfect, how it fits in my hand, and the balance, it is truly an amazing piece of functional art. He was able to take an idea I had, and make it a reality, and the overall craftmanship really shows how much he puts into each of his pieces. I am just blown away.

If I may ask what your propane tank is sitting in I've noticed I lose pressure an my tank starts to frost is this a way to avoid that?

Im not gonna lie id be terribly afraid to engrave a knife because id be so angry if i messed up engraving and had to start over from the beginning
