John Myung starting to show some signs of aging and finally looks about 25 now.

Glad to hear Myung speaking and to know that along with mangini they have have a Lot of music on their brains still ready to find the correct time to use them

Having just heard the entire album today, I can happily confirm the rest of the songs are amazing. There's so much content in them and some unexpected twists. I'm trying to compare AVFTTOTW to previous albums but I can't, which is a good thing imo.
I can honestly say, DT never disappoints me and always exceeds my expectations.

Agreed. I love literally every album, I think they're all uniquely genius and extremely entertaining and satisfying to listen to over and over.
View From The Top is DEFINITELY their best "Mangini" album. Plus, the production is fantastic for a change. SWEET sounding album.

I’m so excited for this album!
I love the creative headspace they’re in. I hope that as I refine my playing and writing abilities, I find myself with other musicians who are on the same wavelength like these guys are. They seem to quickly agree on things, not out of indifference but like-mindedness and appreciation. That sounds like heaven, so it’s no wonder why the musical result sounds so heavenly as well.

My favorite part was how you could audibly hear the mic gain level increase during the JM responses because he was so quiet 😆

Go Roie! Great interview and yes we are excited to hear the new stuff. Guaranteed that any new DT album will be on regular rotation all that year and sometimes the only album that's on rotation. Each one is an epic.
the production is so brilliant the second round of that opening riff the guitar is lowered a tad and the synth is loudened love the subtle spacey texture that comes in. mad

You guys are awesome. So music skilled. Talkin about metrics snd tempo. True professors...personally as a former drummer I love to learn every single thing Mike has to say. Great great drmmer and awesome he knows such felow giants like Tool's Danny C.
The material on the last album DOT gave me alot of confidence in the increasing cohension in DT with Mangini. I still don't think the songwriting is close to the stuff they did in the 90's but that was 25 years ago. Progressive bands don't play the same album over and over again and nor would we want them to. Looking forward to the drop.
I'm looking forward to this new one and seeing them live again. It has to be really hard to come up with new ideas after all this time and so I understand why the want to revisit old ideas and see what they can do to update them. Great band!

"Only good musicians who understand music love them.." I'm a very low level guitar player and i'm an hardcore fan of them. You don't have to be a good musician to appreciate good music.

I never thought that a Dream Theater album would bore me as much as the new one. For years, always the same melodies. This is so sad for me because I really wanted to like the new album and listen to it every day, but unfortunately it is not so !

I love this band. Next to Tool, Metallica, And Rush. The musical journey these men take you on is just astounding. I have a fond appreciation of their musicianship
and the detail they bring to every album. And the emotion. I will admit i have cried listening to some of their songs. I have just grown to appreciate just how talented
they really are. It's the one band whether i didn't like everthing on every record, I still look forward to new music from them every time they release an album. This is
a band that should be in the Rock N Roll hall of fame along with Portnoy.
