You could have done SO MUCH with CLICKBAIT and been very fair . This video had SO MUCH MORE than a beautiful swimming hole. I was leery of that price for the falls but WOW ! I have had sailors tell me Pass on American Samoa and go directly here, and now I see why !
We haven't heard anything good about American Samoa but Samoa was a real surprise! Such a gem of a place! We hope more sailors stop here in the future!

Your channel was my favourite content to watch for these past weeks. Samoa is wonderfully beautiful. 🎉 However I'm a bit confused,and I don't confuse easily. You were soooooo excited, and often in tears as issues developed in the refit period, to get to the Tuamotus and the Marquesas Islands, yet you did not seem to spend a bunch of time there to deeply explore. Is there a reason my bride and I should be aware of so we don't make a mistake?

Without applying for a long stay visa we only get three months in French Polynesia which we spent a month in the Marquesas, one month in the Tuamotus and one month in the Society Islands. We chose not to apply for the long stay because we knew we didn't want to spend a year there as it would have meant we stayed in the Marquesas (out of cyclone belt for cyclone season) and we knew we didn't want to spend 5-6 months there, so we opted to keep moving and see more of the South Pacific.

. Apparently US citizens can move there to the no problem. Checking flights. haha Seems to have an awesome mix of nature and civilization and speaking English, too. Forgot that Hannah's first sail was an overnighter. ;-o. That ring you found: peoples' fingers shrink in the cold water and rings slide right off. At al lot of popular beaches the metal detector divers come out at sunset.
This is Samoa, not American Samoa. Am Samoa is a lot smaller

@@joephillips7612 yea they have ferry’s and planes that go between the two. It’s really strange how different the two are tho. Both drive on different sides of the road. Samoa is about 4-5 times bigger population wise

Am trying to figure out what bringing on a deckhand who has never sailed before achieves.
Paying it forward. We all had someone help us in the beginning. Unfortunately this sentiment has been eclipsed by the monetization of life- sometimes we forget that self preservation requires altruism

All I heard was that they were taking on a deckhand then it was mentioned that the deckhand had never sailed.
It is a legitimate question and a genuine curiosity as to why SV One Life would take on a novice hand.
Hey there! That is right, Hannah had zero sailing experience before her arrival but that didn't concern us. We also had zero experience when we bought One Life. The thing that was the most important to us was her motivation and willingness to learn. Even though she didn't know how to sail upon arrival, we greatly appreciated her help with every day boat chores such as cooking, cleaning, hoisting the dinghy, etc. Every bit helps! But our biggest reason for having her join us, is because after a couple sails under her belt, it was our hope that she would be able to stand watches during our big sail to New Zealand. This would be super beneficial as our 4 hours on/4 hours off would turn into 4 hours on/8 hours off! Stay tuned :)

Hey Dave! That is a great question. Our longest check-in process was probably in Mexico. It ended up taking two full days, required a trip to the border and drug dogs onboard. Longest check-out process the award goes to Costa Rica. It took us two or three days but because there wasn't a set process and we had to go back and forth between offices and the bank to pay fees, Mexico check-out was a close second! Our easiest check-in was Puerto Rico because we are US citizens and could do it via the ROAM app on our phone. The easiest check-in outside of the US would probably be El Tigre, Honduras. We only had to go to one office and the whole process took less than 10 minutes, we paid $10 USD and we were on our way!
