- The Worker was a British sitcom that aired on ITV from 1965 to 1978. Co-written by and starring comedian Charlie Drake, the programmes plot was around a man who is constantly sacked from every job he gets.
This episode "A Host of Golden Casual Labourers" introduced us to his new (and most remembered) nemesis Mr Pugh, played by Henry McGee.
The writing , timing , Drake and McGee, dead pan all Fantastic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brilliant!
Loved watching him as a kid. My granny nearly wet herself laughing❤️
It's a testament to Charlie Drake's comedy brilliance that this is still funny 55 years later.
I still remember Charlie drake. Love his comedy, even his films were good.
Absolutely brilliant and sorely missed comic actor....loved to have seen him live on stage.
He had me on the carpet in stitches as a kid. Seeing this I can see how good his timing was and how imaginative and creative he was.
@Kim Kitten yep...nowadays it's comedy!!
Oh for the memories and I thank you so very much for upload.
This is great comedy. Steptoe and Till Death everyone remembers.
The Worker is just as carefully written, literate and laced with absurdity
There's Mr Pugh pulling up Charlie for the first time.
Absolutely Loved It
You don't even need the sound to laugh. His expressions are priceless!
Brilliant comic so sadly missed
We forget just how clever his comedy was.
So true, so true.
I love this man lol
His ability to take a fall was unbelievable!
Legend
Henry McGee trying very hard not to laugh...
Am not sure if all but some of his shows were live TV
Henry McGee cast entirely on the basis of his chin shape :)
Hello
... I used to think this was funny when I was kid...
Me too..It's not now though!
Tell the world about it...
