Finally someone does a video on Garmin coach... thanks for the upload.. made me buy a garmin watch
@Akhmad Rizky Hamidan pretty straightforward. Just choose your trainer and plans get uploaded to app and your watch. As soon as you start exercise your custom plan is loaded. You can also skip or rearrange as you see fit
Thank you for this. You really nailed for everyone who started to look for this feature.
Thank you, most informational video I've found on this yet!
Glad it was helpful. Let me know if you have any questions.
yes, I have a question, you missed one thing. How you actually switching between workout sections like WarmUp, Run, CoolDown. For me it finished training by pressing up button….
Thanks for such detailed and practical video on Garmin coach
Great vid! Please create a vid on how to use stride repeats
Thanks for the video. I love to run with music which is on my phone. How does the coach function tell you that you are entering the different parts of the training such as lap etc? Is this a beep or the watch vibrating or???
exactly the information Io was looking for. Thanks. 1 question unansered. durring the session does your watch tell you when to move on to the next step or do you have to keep an eye on the time?
Hi .. Thanks for this I’m a returning runner starting at 5K .. my first post benchmark session shows a run walk followed by repeat twice and cool down. Do you know if the Garmin 245 will automatically do the repeats or do I need to do that manually? - Thanks again 😊
Thanks. Nice video. Do they have a triathlon training program or coach on 245m?
Excellent video. Everything that you need, nothing extra.
Thanks for the great video. May I ask what watch face are you using?
Does anybody know whether the Garmin Coach adjusts the upcoming workouts based on runs or other exercises I do outside of the Coach feature? For example, if I go running with friends I don't want my watch to constantly buzz me with instructions, but it would be nice if the Coach takes that activity into account as it determines what I need next.
What is the watch face called that your using in this video? Is it a stock one that is on the Forerunner 45 when you first take it out of the box?
Do you have a Garmin coach video that talks about customizing the data screens and fields when using Garmin coach?
Thank you for video. Garmin coach is available on vivoactive 3 music or not.
One question. are the phases in one training generated based on pace or personal feel? Can the heart rate be used to define a phase?
Thanks for the video. I have the Fenix 6 pro but pretty much as your video shows
Does the Garmin coach use voice coaching while your running?
Can you play music while doing the runs or even do the training from your phone. I like to run with music...
Thank you! It was a useful video.
Does the watch give spoken instructions about pace , hr zones etc. if connected to my Bluetooth headset?
This is great - having a 10K plan on the watch is one of the main reasons I was interested in a Garmin watch. Great video 👍
Thank you, I'm glad it helped you!
@Akhmad Rizky Hamidan me too. I am interested if watch vibrates or beep after each stage.
@@perezes83 yes it does vibrate at each stage. very easy and intuitive
Im doing the 5k training works great.
But the cycle training wont allow me to Resch. Days for training. Its say i can resch. But it not easily seen.
Sometimes sch. Change and need to move the days
Is there an option to get audio guidance through headphones instead of the beep or vibration? Like what runtastic does, letting you know when you completed a mile and what pace it was... I find it weird if I must check on the watch itself while running... It would be really convenient to be able to listen to music, run without a Care and get audio cues about the workout phase all through bluetooth earbuds...
yes it will do that if you've set up Audio Alerts in your device settings. Yes for sure.
4:05, i really love that watch face, does it drain the battery or not?
Possibly related question- I set up a 10k program and did the first "benchmark" run today. After finishing (2min warm, 5min hard, 2min cool) I kept the activity going as I walked back to my house. I got the prompt on the watch that the program had been completed. Now I am wondering, though, with all that "extra" walking the avg pace of the event was significantly lower than it would have been if i had stopped the activity right at the end of the cooldown. Now I am wondering if this has screwed up the recommended paces for my future events? They seem awful high. Should I "re-do" the benchmark run?
Thank you for posting this
Does this work for Garmin Fenix 5X or just the 5 don’t know if the same or not
Do I need to pay attention to the watch face to know when to start/stop warmup, run, and cooldown or will the watch buzz/beep to inform me? I have the Venu Sq.
So I have added the widget for Garmin Coach on my watch, it tells me to set it up on the app AND I literally do not have the Training as an option on the app. Please help
Hi! Thanks for this great video. Wondering if you can shed some light on the following: “other: lap press”. What does this mean? It’s on my Garmin Coach workout as a step after warm up but before a cadence drill. I have no clue what I am expected to do running-wise or if necessary, the button I need to press on the watch. Any guidance you can offer would be fantastic. Thank you!
Hello. Have you found out what this means?
Hi, I have a forerunner 735xt gramin. Is it possible that I don’t have under the training plan?
Do I need to have my phone with me while using the Garmin coach during my running sessions?
How to delete garmin coach plan, and to set it up from scratch
Hi there, I have a Vivoactive 4s and am on my second coach plan the 10k. The plan is Jeff Galloways which recommends a run walk run style of training. Whilst in the running section of a work out, based on the pace that I am aiming for, I should run for 1 minute then walk for 30 seconds. I know that I can choose intervals to have the watch vibrate when I am running just on a normal run and its great. But if I am using a scheduled workout, I can't seem to add the interval notifications in. I tried running the workout in normal mode then have it recognise it as part of the program in hindsight (as I used to do on my fitbit) but coach does not seem to be able to do that. I would love some suggestions as focussing on running takes enough energy without having to look at the watch every 30 seconds to keep a consistent run walk run pattern.
Do you think they'll implement something for rowers and Garmin Coach?
I have a foerunner 35. Is this compatible? You don't mention on the video
Thank you for this! Just got thr vivoactive and there's a lot of info to take in 🤣 thanks a mill!
You're very welcome! Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for watching and please consider liking and subscribing! :)
I got Vivoactive 4s. If I want to run longer after finishing my training, I have to save the training and start new run. Is there some smarter way how to count it as one run?
hiii! my garmin coach is not updating the plan even though i did a benchmark run. actually i’ve tried three times already. i definitely choose the coach widget and do 2-5-2 run and my run is on the phone as a benchmark run, but not synced with coach. what should i do?
The germin foreruuner 245 had some more workuot like a full maraton ?
Why can't I see my pace when training with Coach Galloway for 1/2 marathon? I am running slower than usual because I can't see it. I am running during the warmup but can't adjust my pace.
Great informative Video, new sub now... TY sir... 💪❤️
Thank you! Awesome video! How do you do "repeats?" Like when it says do this 3x? Does it automatically repeat or do I have to hit a button? I am doing the Jeff Galloway training for half Marathon. I do run/walk/run.
Sorry for the delay in my response. You will only need to use the lap key to start this section of the workout. Once stated it will automatically repeat. Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
@@GaugingGadgets Hello sir, is it possible to track the hr, pace, time/distance during the these workout program, since at your demonstration I only saw time and distance.
I recently bought a forerunner 45 and had the same question . Did you figure it out in the end ? do i need to hit the lap button during the drill workouts ?
@@MatthewNash92 I never figured it out.
I am also lost
Video doesn’t show how to bring Coach into widgets. Coach is under widgets but I need to move it to Activities so I can use it.
Thank you for the very good explanación. Lets see if i can come back to my training after 12 years. 😅
You're very welcome! YOU CAN DO IT!!
How do I delete my coach plan if I dont want
I have the FR 45 and when i push start/stop button at garmin coach widget a white triangle apears and push back in time mode. Why this happens? Also i can't find the training plans tab in my garmin connect app,i have a xiaomi redmi 4x
Problem "solved", the watch doesn't support Greek language at garmin coach widget yet so when i want to use it i turn to English language
Cool video. One question, when it come´s to the Run/Walk/Run day. Does the watch automatic tell you whne to run, when to walk, and in what pace or do you have to put in the run/walk alarm yourself?
When I started the 10k training coach with 'Jeff' it gave no guidelines on how to manage the run walk run. but after the 1st or 2nd run, it gave me a video or reading which then gave the guide on the recommended run walk run times based on the overall goal pace. I now would like to know if we can add the interval run 'buzzer' into the workout plans as it is a pain having to be so focused on the watch when running. I can pre program it into a non scheduled workout and it was so much easier to focus on my running.
@@joannakuriger7095this has been my challenge. Were you able to figure it out. I am not concentrating on the run becoming I am always looking at the watch
why they dont have a Full Marathon training plan?
When I do my Time Trial runs.. after my 0.5 mile warm-up I don't know what to do to begin the 5 minute time trial. I pressed a button and it slipped through to the cool down ruining my stats.
I just skipped my warm up that way. Hoping I can figure this out!
I think you say where’s the lap Button! In the Forerunner watch, there isn’t lap Button, and you need this Button to pass to the next activity in some trains, sorry about my english.
What if i want to do a run outside of the training plan, how does that work?
It won't affect it. You would just start the run activity like normal. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching!
Can I jump a workout?
Heyyy, representing Pensacola. Great video! I'm about to give the 5k training a go, however I'm afraid this is more suited for people who aren't already involved in running. I want to get my mile time down, but I feel the coaching is going to be a hindrance with the minimal time/distance spent running in the early stages.
from what i saw in the video, users can choose to A) run/walk, B) run only, or C) run with a target time. Maybe option C) would be better for yourself - I'm guessing that you can select the time you're aiming for and the app will tailor your plan to your requirements?
Hi all, I have a Vivoactive 4 and am doing the 10klm training plan 'Amy'. Can anyone help me with this question please? All was going well to week 4 and I got to the first 'time trial' workout and completely mucked it up. I did the warmup which was 3.2k easy pace and then the rim of the watch face went grey, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to do anything or if the watch was still in it's program so I waited a minute or so and still nothing so I pressed the upper button thinking I might have to do something and the program stopped and recorded my time trial as only the warm up. I still had the 1.6k time trial and 1.6k warm down to do, these i did anyway but they didn't get recorded sadly. My question is, should I have more patient?
Hi Im not sure this answers your question but I have noticed that when I accidentally stop the program by bumping the wrong button ( I have Vivoactive 4s which I believe is much the same as yours just with a smaller face) I can restart the program by pressing the stop/start button again. I have effectively paused the workout once when I met up with a friend, the only thing I had to do was choose no to the auto save feature when it came up. Hopefully this is a little helpful.
Does the watch notify you (audio/vibrate) when the warm up/run/interval/cool down is complete and it’s time to move on?
Yes, it will vibrate or make a noise, depending on the settings you have configured on the watch. I found the vibration to be enough for me to know when to change from one to another.
I didn't find the vibration or beep useful (garmin 645). Its slightly annoying that the watch beeps on wrist rather than through your headphones like lap announcemetns might. However, that said, I just rolled up my jacket in the winter and kept an eye on it - you don't need to check it that much
@@GaugingGadgets Yeah this was a key piece that was skipped in the video; led to believe you have to watch your entire watch during the run. Not good for beginners or safe. So during the workout, who/what/where/how will prompt you that your WU, CD, workout, interval, event is complete? Also, you need to include that Do Not Disturb must be turned off in order to get prompts.
Can you compare the garmin coach with the polar one? Thank you 🙏
I tried a Polar watch once but was very underwhelmed by it. IMO Garmin is the best.
Is there no full marathon training program?
Yes, you can add custom plans like marathons, via webbrowser logging in with your Garmin info. connect.garmin.com/modern/ .
I work a rotating schedule. If I’m scheduled to run on a day that won’t work for me, can I switch the workout to a different day?
Yes, you can do this. Just go to your program and check the settings within it. You can change the workout date or even pause your program. I had to do it several times during the holidays when I was traveling and unable to workout.
Gauging Gadgets ok, sounds good. Thank you so much for replying so quickly.
I've got a vivo 4s once started on the program on the watch it say press lap button Where is it? Why doesn't it just vibrate for each change of activity? Or does it HElp please
Press bottom right buton for lap.
@@terezamikusova7342 thanks
It is also avalible on Garmin Instinct
Correct, it was recently added to the watch. One of the many things I love about Garmin is how they are constantly adding features to existing watches.
It is quite some time. In july 2019 I completed 12 weeks 5k training. I started training in april 2019.
Is there a way of not including the warm up distance and time in the actual run?
Of course, just push the lap button after as long warm up as you like if you like 0 warm up just press it after start. same with cool down. or any other step in the work out.
You deserve 1 million likes
Is this available for fenix 6 yet ?
yes
watch says no plan. cannot start on phone. GRRRRR
How the actual fuck do I do this on an Instinct 2
The guide trough the workout is pure rubbish when you need to alternate run walk it is not clear…. So not intuitive
