Schwinn Pea Picker Krate w/rear disc brake and accessories - AFTER restoration

- All original 1972 Schwinn Pea Picker with rear disc brake after cleaning, waxing, and lubricating was done on Memorial day 2017. I really enjoyed taking it for a ride to test the shifting, spring fork and seat shocks and brakes and the bike operated smoothly with plenty of people asking questions about it. It rode extremely smooth. Love all the accessories it came with as well, and both front and rear generator lights work too. It took many hours to make the bike look like this so be sure and see the before video to see how crusty it looked when we got it.
Thanks for watching and be sure to check out my other classic bike videos. - Авто та транспорт
NICE!!! Takes me back. Great memories.
Thanks!
WOW that is the perfect bike. Love the green metalflake on the seat and handle grips!
Thank you!
What a machine. chrome in the sun looks great.
Thanks very much for the compliments!
This reminds me a bit of the Schwinn Stingray my Pop's bought me in 1968
Very nice job on the Pea picker!!!
Thank you!
Thanks for bringing me back to a favorite childhood memory! I saved up and bought a used '72 Pea Picker from the hardware store in '75. I lived on that bike for the next few years!
My pleasure, I'm glad you enjoyed it. The 70's were a great time for sure!
That is a beautiful bike
Thank you!
Nice pea picker, love the vintage stingrays- class schwinn's👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the nice comments. I love em too!
that is the holy grail of bikes as far as i am concerned..nicely equipped too...
Thanks so much for the compliment!
my best friend had a pea picker. I was in awe when he first showed it to me even more so than when my brother showed me his 1979 corvette
I'd love to have that electric horn for mine. So rare today.
Thank you!
A beautiful bike!
Thank you! Appreciate the kind words!
Another Beautiful Schwinn!!
Thank you!
Beautiful ...credit to you.. You Americans certainly love and are good at style when it comes to any form of transport, from cycles , hot rods to space shuttles .
Thank you for the kind words!
Awesome Bike. love the color, the chopper look, the shocks... brings back a lot of memories.
Thank you!
Nice bike! I had a '71 Pea Picker, It was $100 new.
Thank you!
Looks good, brings back some memories.
Childhood dreams and memories
All the bells and whistles (and headlights and mirrors and speedometers and hand break cushions)
When you zoomed in on the rear brakes I was looking at the rim and I got a whiff of chrome polish!
Eric Underwood class of 81 Downey High School California 👍
I had this one exactly as a kid but I added super tall sissybar w schwinn turn signals and headlight, oh I wish I had it now
Great Job,,, Always wanted one as a kid...
Our family was too poor to ever afford something like this. But I grew up always wanting one.
I sure can relate.
My older brother had one,
And the idiot didn't lock it up
And was stolen.
I wanted a Schwinn and a mini
Bike.
@@ou8126 I know that breaks your heart thinking about that sometimes.
It sure does!
@@ou8126 These bikes were stolen all the time.
I was poor as well. I got paper route and walked it for a 4 months till I could save enough to buy one.
Awesome looking bike
Much appreciated thank you!
Beautiful bike sir.
SWEET BIKE
That bike is as clean as it gets. The only problem is there made for kids! I have a stingray, and I love that damn bike. Luckily I'm just big enough to still ride it around the neighborhood.
Thanks! The Schwinn Krates may have been intended for kids but adults love them too...they are so much fun to ride!
Sweet ride!
It's pretty unreal how Schwinn bikes clean up, I've seen some pretty ratty ones that I've been able to bring back. The most impressive part to me is how good the chrome is, just goes to show ya the difference between a bike made in the USA versus somewhere else.
I'm excited because my mom got me one for Christmas and it's sitting down in the garage torturing me
cool, I had a lemon peeler and loved it
Nice bike man
I have a 1976 stingray ray junior that I converted to 5 speed stick
Very nice of you to say...thanks!
Mine did not have dics brakes, I did have the green metal fleck. Best Christmas present I ever had!
Very nice!
Thank you...Much appreciated!
Una jolla 😍😍🇲🇽🇲🇽
Thanks very much!
TOP SHOW
Thank you!!
I'm wondering if this was the bike I sat on in a bike shop a a kid. I'm thinking it was a 3-speed, but I remember it was green, had a stick shift, and was a Schwinn. Oh, I wanted it, but it was too big(I had trouble reaching the pedals. Maybe the seat was too high), and maybe too expensive. Man, was it COOL.
Nice
I think the 76 is the rarest bicentennial one the only made it one year.
I have and had earlier models both black my would have been a 67-68 with the skinny tires/rims my father sold my first one when I was in the Navy and my 68 CT-90 trail 90 step-thru (registration was down to $7.00 year)
I never cared for the skinny 20” tires.
Is there a way to convert or acquire OEM size tires reasonably?
Thanx
Excellent I'm trying to find out if someone else has a bike that I saw Back in 1971 or 72 maybe 73 it was a Schwinn Stingray on the frame double shifter I think it was 5-speed and then the other shifter was either a park and a drive right next to it I thought that was so cool man I don't know if that was a aftermarket accessories or did Schwinn actually have a double shifter Schwinn Stingray or Pea Picker I don't know I believe I was either 9 or 10 years old so if anyone seen something like that be nice to see one of those.
Buena bicicleta
No hub cleaner with reflector?
So my stingray was blue and gold if i remember correctly and one color faded into the other and it didn't have the gear shifter. Anyone know anything about that model? It was around 1968
I had a grey ghost
bella
Thank you!
I have that bike. Where can I get it restored?
I had a pea picker in about 1976 or 77' not sure if it had disc brakes or not but I wish I had now lol
Very nice bike, I just purchased a 1980 pea picker. Is my pea picker a different green? The guy I bought it from didn't really know about the bike as he told me it was a 1999 pea picker but I looked up serial number and it is a 1980.
Wich part in OHIO sir? Me olso living in OHIO with my schwinn coal krate
I wish?? I have like this plybike even am old🙏🙏🙏
Any idea on the value of this bike,I have a Cotton Picker in similar condition
A quick eBay search for Schwinn Krate's sold recently shows a 71 Cotton picker w/disc sold for $4900 and generally a nice original one sells for around $6000-$7000
is a 20 or 16 inch bike
Do you still have this bicycle please comment back thank you very much for this video I had one of these when I was a kid please let me know
Yes, it is currently hanging from the ceiling beam in my son's living room!
Green >
😯👍🚴♂️incredible !
Thank you!!
Thumbs up liked.
front hub looks like a dino hub
Had a Lemon Peeler in mint condition in the late 70's with rear disc, speedo, 5spd. Traded it in on a new World Sport 10 speed in 1981. The dealer gave me $50.
$ 50.00 SMH.
those bikes never lose value.
Back in the day when this was AMERICA we used to take them generators off they were troublesome and problematic in general and they would wear out a tire faster than you would believe we had our pretty bikes with all the accessories and then our old bikes we would trim them down and those was our Wheelie poppers and jump bikes and all around trail bikes ! You see kids I grew up in the country you may have heard of it....... AMERICA! Yes indeed I reckon I'm going to restore that old Schwinn stingray I got out there one more time and make me a trail riding wheelie popper jump bike and fly through the air one more time! Hahaha
Let me guess, you grew up in America.
@@kpri101 ABSOLUTELY!
I'll give you 1500.00!
I had a new one. Somebody stole it.
Someone stole mine as well, bastards!
