"Killer nanny" Yoselyn Ortega addresses court during sentencing in deaths of 2 kids

- A former nanny convicted last month for the brutal murders of two New York City children has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Yoselyn Ortega's victims, 6-year-old Lucia Krim and 2-year-old Leo Krim, were found in 2012 by their mother in their apartment bathtub.

Those are self-pity tears. The only time this woman expresses emotion is when she talks about her own life and fate and NEVER about the children whose lives she took.

The nanny will be forgiven if she sincerely repented to Jesus but she is gonna have to pay the consequences of her crime. The Word of God says that what a man sows he reaps. This woman murdered innocent children and she is dangerous to the society. I don't know if she is mentally ill like she claims but she is nothing but a ticking time bomb. And no, mentally ill people shouldn't be walking the streets!!!!

I don‘t believe a word of what she said. She made up excuses for her crime, no remorse for the pain of the Krim family , only for herself.
Am I missing something did she just turn an apology into a blame on the parents cause she missed a doc appointment 😐 firstly one doc app is for a lil but of info, that woman would have needed extensive psychiatric attention and medication to deal with what was goingg on in her head. And secondly it proves what an evil person she is. Still trying to not accept responsiblitly

It's very difficult to vet anyone, let alone a deranged, bitter sociopath, But assuming that the immigrant lady with money troubles ,and 5 children she can't care for.. will be a loving and responsible caretaker for your privileged & well loved children was unfortunately, a fatal mistake for this family.
Those ‘facts’ would have fallen apart with a decent attempt to vet.
The Krims probably feel lots of guilt over that. It's awful that they were deceived. Perhaps background checks of yoselyn and her "references" would have been helpful. Many people take on nannies and sitters without issue. They just wanted a little help and they didn't realize soon enough that they weren't sufficiently thorough. If I heard right, yoselyn was recommended to them. This story shows the need for due diligence among other things. Unfortunately, even those we think we know can horribly betray us.

I think this nany was a very lonely person who saw happy people around her but she couldn't be happy herself, and this made her more and more angry over time. A live-in nanny situation gets challenging, because how can a nanny have her own life? So it becomes a situation where resentment can build up and this was a worst case scenario.
Seriously!? She could've had her own life by getting another job. No one was forcing her to be a nanny.

I think everyone has forgotten about mental illness. What she did has no justification however it’s clear that she was gradually decompensating. Mental Health is a huge unaddressed illness that has been ignored and overlooked by society. All of a sudden, with COVID, mental health is now being addressed.
She deserves all the penalty in the world but I must say I have not heard anyone comment about mental health
I sympathize with her mental distress and struggles but not with her murderous actions. Her basic needs are now provided. Living in the free world was too overwhelming for her. Some people thrive in prison, believe it or not.

I don't know what you're complaining about. They paid 18 dollars an hour. It was only part time. They gave her gifts and plane tickets. They offered her more work for more money. They even recommended her to friends. Some friends employed her if I'm not mistaken. If all these are facts, the Krims were very generous.
