My parents were Rockhounds when I was a kid in the 60s. We lived in the Mojave desert of California but traveled to other states. We had our own lapidary workshop. I absolutely loved it, I licked alot of rocks as a kid
That last piece, the sea agate, was mesmerizing! There were a hundred different worlds in that one rock, I could spend hours looking at this. What an artist Mother Nature is. Loved this!!
I literally screamed when you unveiled the "moss agate." And then you revealed the seam agate.... I JUST CAN'T EVENNNNNNN! Breathtaking. Seriously. It took my breath away.
Thanks Kate! Glad you liked them. The Moss agate is more of a plumey jasper but I stuck with the local terminology. I have a lot of the Moss agate if you ever want to trade. I have to go back and get more of the seam agate.
Yay, time to cut the Lobster Agates!!! The seam is insane, seriously fabulous, my jaw is officially dropped. It's exciting to think there's more of that out there. You're stoked!
Amazing video my friend!! You did a great job, good for you! Beautiful rocks!! Keep up the good work you're doing!! I just signed up for your channel!! Greetings from Greece!!
That last one was a huge rock to cut and you did an amazing job with it. What a nice pattern inside. It looks so good rough I can't imagine when it's polished and even more beauty is brought out.
That banded chert has some smart colouring to it...don't know why I think of Gucci lol That hike was well worth the effort for those results, gorgeous agates indeed! There's so much choice in that one slab alone, it would be hard to find a favourite spot on it :)
I would love a chunk of that seam agate. The color is so awesome and the patterns are something else. I wish that I knew that you had such beautiful agates there when my folks took a trip to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, but I think it was in 1998, a little over a year before my dad passed. Keep up the great videos and God bless you and your family.
dude that last one is just wild, its amazing how solid they are with no fracturing. Mind blowing rocks!!! I love them all, but the big seam agate and the plume jasper agate are just works of art :)
Those are gorgeous specimens Jason! The seam agate was stunning. I had to sit down when you said you were considering including a piece for your 2K sub giveaway. Thank you for another great video. Happy hunting!
The saw used in this video is an old core cutting saw built in the 70's. But hi-tech diamond sells very affordable beginner saws, 6" and 10". The link to their website is in the description of this video. Good luck!!
Oh man no cracks in the moss/plume! Rad!!!!! I’ve really learnt a lot from the lap club about cracks haha. So many of mine have cracks that mean lap work will be super hard unless they’re really small.
The saw used in this video is an old mercury 14" core cutting saw. It's a bit awkward to use as you can see in the video. Not really practical for cutting slabs but it's the biggest saw I can get my hands on locally.
That’s awesome that last one was very beautiful! I was actually just at an agate plume claim that has the same colorings!! I’m still cleaning rocks up and cutting and polishing some this weekend! Love the rocks, just subscribed.
So you doubled your subs in 6 months from 2k to over 4k?! Wowza! I can easily see why. You have great content and have a very friendly likeable personality. That's the most amazing banded chert I've ever seen and the turquoise colored chert too is pretty epic. Sad I missed my chance for giveaway on that mind blowing wicked cool plume agate. Love the yellows running through it. Excellent video. Cheers! 😁👍
That Seam Agate needs to have "Splendid" added to the front-end of the name! I will definitely try to get in on the 2K give-away... and if that doesn't work I may need to send some $$$ out there for a slice (or an entire piece, :-))?
I will go back for more. I'm giving the end piece away in the giveaway and the rest i'm going to polish and put on display in my cabinet. I'll get more though and make it available when I set up our etsy or ebay store.
I love you're videos! Do you by any chance offer cutting services? A couple months ago, I found a huge chunk of moss agate at Blue Beach that I'd love to have sawn. It's about 8x8 inches, and too large for my poor old saw lol.
If your diamond blades are doll you can peenin them with a rasp medium to large size steel file by striking the blade with the edge of the rasp I found that striking it every 16th of an inch or so all the way around the blade is grate
The saw I used in this video is a 14" core cutting saw made in the 70's. You can't buy them anymore. Something similar these days would be in the order of 1000's of dollars.
Is there a way to get in touch with you, either by email or phone? Nearing retirement and want to get into rock cutting and polishing. Would really appreciate advice!
You are a true rocker!
My parents were Rockhounds when I was a kid in the 60s. We lived in the Mojave desert of California but traveled to other states. We had our own lapidary workshop. I absolutely loved it, I licked alot of rocks as a kid

@@RockhoundingLife I wondered about the plumey jasper, but then I figured I just didn't know Nova Scotia rocks. :)
@@RockhoundingLife Keep up the good work! :)
The "mossy plume" agate was spectacular. The seam agate looked like an impressionist painting. Ain't it grand when there aren't any fractures.
Thanks Todd! You are absolutely right. Not having fractures opens up the possibilities of what you can do with the rock. Thanks for watching!
Awesome rocks!!!
Thanks you!!!
love the seam agate
Thank you!
They are all beautiful but the seam agate is totally awesome 👍😀

That looks like a heart in the first piece of cut ploom agate
I can see it! Good eye!
There's so much going on with that Lobster-hole seam. I could gaze at it, for hours ! You guys worked really hard for that stuff. Well deserved !
Oh man did we ever work hard! Over an hour hike back with packs full of rocks! Thanks for watching!
There's a little mossy person in the left turquoise slab you were holding 😁

Gorgeous stuff, the last rock when I first saw it made me think of some Pharoahs tomb with all it's artistic splendor. Magnificent piece.
Oh wow!! Cool analogy! Thanks for watching!
That last one was a huge rock to cut and you did an amazing job with it. What a nice pattern inside. It looks so good rough I can't imagine when it's polished and even more beauty is brought out.
Thanks Kim! I think this one is a good candidate for the vibratory lap. Have you been using yours?
By far the most beautiful seam agate I’ve ever seen! So awesome!
Thanks Cheryl!
What an awesome place! That seam agate is just lying around and you can just pick up what you want! How cool is that?
Yep!! Getting there is the hardest part.
they all turned out beautiful! i did have my doubts about them when you guys picked them up,, i learned my lesson
That big seam agate didn;t look like much when I picked it up. Glad I kept it!
That banded chert has some smart colouring to it...don't know why I think of Gucci lol That hike was well worth the effort for those results, gorgeous agates indeed! There's so much choice in that one slab alone, it would be hard to find a favourite spot on it :)
Totally! It's a big piece so lots going on! Thanks for watching!
I would love a chunk of that seam agate. The color is so awesome and the patterns are something else. You'll have a chance to get one. I'll be giving a piece of this one away in a soon to be announced giveaway!
dude that last one is just wild, its amazing how solid they are with no fracturing. Mind blowing rocks!!! I love them all, but the big seam agate and the plume jasper agate are just works of art :)
That's the good thing about finding the source, no fractures. Going to look nice polished up.
Those are gorgeous specimens Jason! The seam agate was stunning. I had to sit down when you said you were considering including a piece for your 2K sub giveaway. Thank you for another great video. Happy hunting!
Thanks!! Yes the end slab will be included in a soon to be announced giveaway! Thanks for watching!
Great video
🤙
Love this. Where can I find a mini version of the saw? Thanks for sharing!
The saw used in this video is an old core cutting saw built in the 70's. But hi-tech diamond sells very affordable beginner saws, 6" and 10". The link to their website is in the description of this video. Good luck!!
Awesome rocks as always! Congrats on 2000+ subs
Thanks Kate!
Man, that last one is amazing. I’m new to the rock hounding and I love you content.
Thanks Jeff! That last one surprised me too!! Wasn't expecting that!!
Great cuts! #coolbeans
Thanks Tim!
Jason! I’m here late but I’m here brother! Here we go!
Man how rad are rocks... honestly just rad. I like seeing the ones I don’t see over here. Real pretty. The chert is prettiness!
Oh man no cracks in the moss/plume! Rad!!!!! I’ve really learnt a lot from the lap club about cracks haha. So many of mine have cracks that mean lap work will be super hard unless they’re really small.
Ooopht! The seam goodness! Dude!
Really pretty Dude! Thanks heaps man for sharin, and say g’day to the boys mate!
I love chert. It's so under appreciated!
Great video! Can you provide information on your saw? Thanks!
Thanks a lot! And thanks for checking us out!
Man, I really love that Chert or Churt. Can that be found 🤔 in any other lake area such as St Clair or Erie? The sea Agate is spectacular!!!
Not moss agate in BC either....beautiful
🙏
that last agate looks like cake-
Ha! Lots of colors going on. Thanks for watching!!
So you doubled your subs in 6 months from 2k to over 4k?! Wowza! I can easily see why. You have great content and have a very friendly likeable personality. Love the yellows running through it. Excellent video. Cheers! 😁👍
Thank you so much! We are just thankful that there are enough people out there who enjoy watching us nerd out on rocks!!
The progress bar called the seam agate, sea maggot!
Do you ever cut them in a sphere? That last agate would be beautiful as a sphere!
I don't haveca sphere making machine. Someday maybe!!
That last one was nice, the others must have looked better in person because on film they were a bit plain.
That Seam Agate needs to have "Splendid" added to the front-end of the name! I will definitely try to get in on the 2K give-away... and if that doesn't work I may need to send some $$$ out there for a slice (or an entire piece, :-))?

Stunning rock looking to purchase from you
I'm working on it!!
I love you're videos! Do you by any chance offer cutting services? A couple months ago, I found a huge chunk of moss agate at Blue Beach that I'd love to have sawn. It's about 8x8 inches, and too large for my poor old saw lol.
I’ve been trying to find a larger saw like yours what kind of saw is that and where could I pick one up if you don’t mind my asking?
The saw I used in this video is a 14" core cutting saw that was made in the 1970's. You can't buy them anymore.
How thin can you cut them the last one would make a great pendent
There are no fractures so with a slab saw probably pretty thin. The blade on the saw is used is pretty thick.
If your diamond blades are doll you can peenin them with a rasp medium to large size steel file by striking the blade with the edge of the rasp I found that striking it every 16th of an inch or so all the way around the blade is grate
I've tried that. It works for a bit
How much does a saw like that cost and where do you buy them?
The saw I used in this video is a 14" core cutting saw made in the 70's. You can't buy them anymore. Something similar these days would be in the order of 1000's of dollars.
Indonesian agate lovers monitor 😍😍♥️
Salute from Indonesia fire opal lover and crypto tron/Forsage tron community 😍😍😇👍🇲🇨

Epoxy onto light box
what is the brand name for your rock saw
The one from this video is an old mercury core cutting saw from the 70's.
Awesome but slabs!!!
💯🙏
What is “seam agate”?
Seam agate is Chalcedony that is deposited in fractures rather than nodules
What saw it this?
The saw used in this video is an old top cut 14" Mercury saw from my work. Built in the 70's
Thanks
