Rolling on the Cox train no matter what direction it’s going!
You know your a beast when Cox says well you know like one of those ones in Texas I won 😂
They just giving up general info an making $$ ain't no fisherman giving up nothing good!!
They should only use FFS to practice not doing tournaments
Luke you went from a guest that sounds like a TV preacher to my favorite cox is the best..
I don't understand....you have a great guest with John Cox and all you do is talk. Please let him talk fishing
Everybody is tip toeing around on this issue, and I get it, livelihoods are on the line. Somebody (organization leadership) is going to have to nut up and set some standards. Of all things that have been banned, restricted, etc…FFS is exponentially superior in every regard. I don’t think that is disputable.
If ur using FFS and snag a fish mid belly Shame on you..
Another great show and Cox is just a natural, I love that ole boy
#BANFFS
I think it’s true. Forward facing/ live scope will have disastrous effects on the fisheries but no one will do anything about it until we feel the hurt. Josh Jones did a great podcast on that. I do believe that should be used for conservation purposes only. At some point you’re taking the hunt out of the sport. It’s why I have zero respect for high fence trophy hunters. It’s easy to shoot fish in a barrel. Part of what makes a hunt, and I do mean fishing as well, fun is the adventure. The over and over and over again try until you nail your personal best or the one you saw for a split second on the surface and you’ve spent weeks or months trying to nail it. We’re loosing what it means to the core. It’s also not fun to watch a 20 year old kid with daddies money look as a screen in silence on TV trolling around. Part of what made the early era fun to watch is the personality. gman has proven that. Bill dance before him. Kieth jumping his damn gatortrax over a beaver damn is TV GOLD YALL!!!
Dang…missed the live. Was busy finishing up catching them on Erie 🎣. Good stuff today. Always enjoy Cox Watch!
Cox could be a better version of Tyler willams , dudes throwing jigs on livescope while everyone else is minnowing
I always looked at a fishing derby to be something where really big fish are present. This 'furor' over a fish finder sure seems pointless.
Treb lures hook them everywhere. Foul hooking is common.
It's water from the lakes in Florida they should be open.
Do you know what I don’t like about this? I didn’t come up with it first.
Cox is such a unique guy..always a favorite 👍
Greetings from the BIG SKY of Montana.
How can anyone not love John Cox?
Only allow them 48 inches of graphs and 1 single ffs transducer hooked up to a 12 volt batter only.
Lmao why do you feel the need to regulate the voltage of the battery
We need a hat that says...Cox on docks. Lol
Luke, have a gummy every time Austin says “content” 😅
😂😂😂😂
How about eliminate FFS on competition day. Only use in practice. Much like rangefinders in PGA competition.
Yea, I’m out on the selling waypoints and giving up juice for money. That’s a very slippery slope. For one, you’re likely not the only one running that water/pattern. Two, maybe Billy bob has been kicking my ass for years on 2 different spots and I’m a sore loser. Guess how many people are getting those waypoints?
Great episode as always Luke. Kind of sad though that you didn’t announce I won that fishing trip with you and James Watson though 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. I couldn’t catch it live Monday, was at my daughter’s tennis match. Watched it last night though. Love John Cox.
The THC was always the concentration factor in the boat < Now its the Edibles < But ya cant go to crazy or ya never make a cast **😅😅😅😅 Peace ! Johnnie cox needs to be looked up too kids ! Learn !
How can you not like john cox and hes fixin get a win to at st johns...oh one more thing in a tournament not how you wanna fish its about CATCHING whatever it takes you can skip docks fun fishing or in practice lol
When the fish have nowhere to hide and everywhere they stop they get casted to fishing will become tougher and tougher. East Texas woods deer get spotlighted, hear buggies and 4 wheelers running around all hunting season, the deer hide in the thickets brush they can find, you have to hunt very hard to see mature buck in most places. Now imagine trying to kill one of those bucks with traditional archery equipment. I'm just wondering how much different are fish in lakes when you imagine just trying to troll a bank and catch fish with older equipment? I know for a fact the more you cast at bass in a pond or a trout off a dock light the less they bite, increase pressure on lakes plus technology allowing you to cast at them all over the lake, I don't know how it will affect them but other examples leans more towards worse not better.
Only way I'd buy waypoints is if they had a warranty or money back guarantee!! Lol
What about limiting the inches of screen? The cost thing could get worked around by being “given” their graphs. With the inch limit there is no way to get around that. You could arrange them however you want but have that limit. 🤷🏻♂️
I think that Austin fella was born to be a football coach and got lost along the way. I’m pretty sure he could actually get a group of young men to literally run through a brick wall if he tried. 😂. He could certainly sell them the motivation to do it.
90k cap including the boat, using every day working man, no discount pricing
Can you image what a 36” red or a 39” snook 😳 going out with my boy in Clearwater in July
Cox going to his stompin' grounds! Good luck on the St John's!!!
Personally I don't think anyone is snagging bass purposely I believe well over 90% of them bit at the lure. With that said we are heading towards a rule that reads "all bass must be hooked inside the mouth." I don't think we need this rule but it's coming.
Fishing for smallmouth with no live scope over half the fish we get to bite will be hooked outside the mouth. It’s a lot less with largemouth
So I am watching podcast “not live” in my cardiologist office. He’s a damn low lifer !!! Small world.
Holy crap! That’s awesome.
I don’t think RC snagged that fish intentionally. I think he was working his bait and the fish swiped at it and those things met in a bad way with worse timing. I don’t see how you could intentionally snag a fish on FFS because you have to have perspective mode and normal mode running simultaneously and be so locked in to that stuff to know when to set the hook into it to even be close to that fish. I think you’d have much better odds of snagging a swiping fish by accident than to actually pull that off on purpose. It may be called a live view sonar but it’s still going to have some sort of delay in what it’s showing with what is happening in that exact moment. It might not be much but 1/2 a second is a massive difference when you’re talking about a fish exploding on a bait and still being exactly where it would need to be. I’m not saying it couldn’t be done, but I know for sure a lot of people have accidentally snagged the side of a fish that was swiping at a bait and didn’t eat it but got hooked anyways. That happens all of the time.
With that said, it’s hard to say that he should’ve weighed that fish in, because he might as well have had it hooked in the tail it was so far back. And it’s also hard to say he shouldn’t because I don’t think it was intentional and he did manage to land the fish
i saw the belly hook, i thought it was on a spoon???
Sight fishing a red is nothing like sight fishing a bass
Another great show. Thanks Luke.
I have some pics of reds on scope
Do we need to see a rule change when people are using a screen to snag bass in competition? The top ten of every event is absolutely chaulk full of FFS users that do nothing else. All of these multiple transducers and salt water transducers, these boats look absolutely ridiculous with all of the junk hanging off of them. If you see a couple of high school kids in the front of a boat you can bet they're using FFS and they know nothing about bass fishing without it. I could keep going and im Still waiting for someone to tell me how FFS is good for competitive fishing.
No one is snagging bass on ffs. The beam is multiple feet wide and the fish aren’t going to sit there and let you hit them. I’ve run an A rig through a school and they literally move out of the way if they don’t want to eat it
@devinwillis7787 If you think you can't snag a bass with FFS your delusional or have never been around someone that is proficient with it. It can absolutely be done and is being done. Even if its one fish an event that is one too many.
@@danielw2120 how would that work? So you’re going to line up a cone that’s 10 feet wide on a bass that is 3 inches wide and you are going to hit it with a jerk bait? Todd castledine will give you 10k if you can snag one with him on the boat. So far no one has taken it. If you’re worried about snagging we should just stop bed fishing because that is really easy
@devinwillis7787 so you think because a cone is 10 ft wide that you can't hit a bass inside of it with a lure? That is your logic and your boy Todd's? No offense but because Todd Castledine says something can't happen doesn't make it so. As far as your other Todd talking point nobody said anything about bed fishing it takes a helluva lot more skill than using FFS..
@@danielw2120 but you’re worried about snagging. It’s way easier to snag bed fishing.
I caught 3 fish this weekend without ffs on a paddle tail hooked through the middle of the back. I’m sure it would look like I snagged them if you want to cry baby about ffs
Hell naw. I caught one on a DT 10 today that had the back hook in the mouth only the first time she came up and had the front hook only right behind the pectoral fin and almost in the belly when I lipped her
