It's a commonly known fact that prior to launch of AEW, Tony sought out Cornette about coming in but, Cornette declined.

The fact that Eric is interested in what TNA is doing, says AEW has dropped SIGNIFICANTLY as time has gone on.
And TNA is finally attracting some buzz with the names they've signed. They deserve it for the amazing shows they put on.
@nbaldwin45 I hope and pray TNA has turned over and grows. They have a method for distribution digitally that WWE has only just started doing with their weekly shows and AEW needs to do. That venue for Hard To Kill probably seated about 5K. But it was filled and people were energetic. So I hope someone comes in and moves TK aside and changes some things.

TNA is primarily through streaming. They are on digital platforms like Triller and Axios (sp?). They've launched their own app where you can watch their weekly shows. They have distribution through Endeavor. Despite their lack of "mainstream," they've become independent to a point where weekly ratings on TV is non applicable. So let's rejoice that there's momentum, they're attempting to reestablish good faith that was lost during the Dixie Carter era, and they're bringing in people (IE, Nic Nemeth) who is generally respected by ALL wrestling fans. I see NOTHING but POSITIVES going forward due to their production, story telling, and in ring presentation.

When Collision debuted, there wasn't any chatter amongst wrestling fans demanding another show.
The fact that TK can't relinquish any booking control while only adding Rampage, Collision, Battle of the Belts, ROH.....is only literal insanity.
About time Connie takes Tony's peace out of his mouth and actually defends Eric. I was subscribed to add free shows for 2 years but got really tired of Connie's not taking AEWs booking choices to task like he has with WWE.
He doesn't take modern WWE booking to task, no different from AEW. This has been addressed before. He's not going to be critical of the stuff his friends ie Schiavone, Prichard Ross are currently involved with. Old shit is up for grabs though
There are a lot of bad decisions that led to things going downhill in 1999 WCW, but people also have to consider, it was not Eric’s money to do whatever he wanted with. Whereas TK has an endless supply of money and has total control over his product. Not excusing Bischoff”s shortcomings but the situations are not as similar as some want to make them out to be.
Tony Khantana is more like what would happen if Herb Abrams got to run WCW instead of Bischoff. He is speedrunning every single mistake any major promotion has ever made
But thats the point. How are you calling out someone when in your case you cost the network money. Khan cost khan money. While khan isn’t doing the best job he could…he’s also not digging into someone else’s pocket. On top of that what happened with TNA, it was brought to new lows with Hogan and Eric, Dixie, Russo, etc cus they implemented the same issues that led to WCW’s exhaust.

2. Jey “YEET!” Uso turns on Cody at… some point. This gives an excuse for Cody to go after the Bloodline. Setting up wrestlemania 40, Roman vs. Cody
3. Night one of wrestlemania = Punk vs. Seth. Punk wins. Damian comes down with the briefcase. But, just AFTER he cashes in and it looks like he’s going to win, Drew McIntyre comes in, bears the hell out of Damian. DQ! And, Punk retains the belt because it doesn’t exchange in a DQ or a count out.
4. Night Two Wrestlemania = Cody vs. Roman. Tons of back and forth and then… just as it looks like Cody is going to win, after ALL of the Bloodline have been sent to the back, C/M PUNK comes Down to the ring and hits Cody with the GTS!! Ref doesn’t see it! Roman, 1,2,3! Roman wins! Roman wins!
5. Cody and Punk back and forth on Raw. Priest in the picture.
6. 3-4 months go by, Roman beats Hogan’s record.
7. Cody makes some deals and gets himself traded to Smackdown!
8. Some… event happens at MSG. And… CODY BEATS ROMAN!! CODY BEATS ROMAN!!
9. Wrestlemania 41 = CM Punk vs. Cody to see who truly is the greatest champion of all time.
10. Depending on how storylines are received , you could play everything out and have Champion Punk vs. Champion Cody at Wrestlemania 42.

I can't believe FTR is echoing the typical Young Bucks talking point that people like Cornette just want a job. It's a lazy take. Corny has stated several times. He talked with Tony when this all started. He wanted no part of it even before the conversation took place. Less so when he realized what Tony's plan was. Cornette is doing quite well for him with what he is doing and anyone who has listened to him for any amount of time knows he doesn't want to leave the house. Under any circumstances. Much less to work for AEW.
Dax just used the podcast to get more money than Tony. That's it. Once they re-signed, they took it down. It will be back up come contract negotiations.
When he was doing the Podcast all I saw were thumbnails of Triple H. NXT, and other WWE related stuff.
I'm sure alot of the kids there weren't happy either, he accidentally exposed Jungle Jack as one of those guys that don't like being told what to do when he talked bout Punk coming in.

When Tony Khan can say he took the WWE to their very limits as a competitor then he can say he did something. Regardless of any fuck ups in WCW in the end. No one can take away the fact that you Eric had Vince Mcmahon sweating at night having nightmares that WCW was going to do his company in. And you didn't do that in an underhanded way. You did it as a businessman hired to be a competitive alternative brand. It was all fair game. Khan is not causing the Mcmahon family any tension I assure you.

Totally agree. There was so much goodwill and interest in AEW in 2019. You would think the guy would be smart enough not to alienate potential viewers, but he can’t control himself from these insane child like meltdowns he has on Twitter. Then as you said also, the lack of discipline and structure where they are allowed to pretty much do and say almost whatever they want in the ring and on social media regardless how reckless it is.

If you ever need proof that TK is just getting milked by clowns like FTR Bald this is a perfect example. Literally none of the toy wrestlers TK pays to be friends with ever say “Tony doesn’t deserve this criticism because he is good at his job and he’s made a successful business”.
