I saw Kavus play in a cow shed(!) in Northants last year (Tannerfest), I knew him as the new face of my beloved Gong and I was sceptical going in - Daevid is always going to be a hard act to follow - but he was fantastic! Organic, natural, properly 'out there' and a brilliant showman. I caught him after his performance and bought from him the Utopia Strong CD and his own 'Hip to the jag' CD. Both being incredible works. Only later did I learn of his involvement with Cardiacs (much to my delight) and the natural follow-up band Knifeworld. Blows me away the reaches of music that he goes to and how well he gets there. Really nice bloke too. Doubleplusgood if you will. All power to his heels and long may he continue. L&L and BB to the geezer and thanks for everything!
He is brilliant.. and i have loved Gong since my college days back in the 70's. So many line ups...and amazing musicians..Too many to mention.. Steve Hillage..Bill Bruford..Mike Howlett.. Alan Holdsworth.. the list goes on. Gong were and still are fabulous and never a week goes by that I don't listen to one of their very many albums.
Public schools were originally created by the well-off for the less-fortunate. Praised as a charity, the social prestige of the schools rose until the privileged began sending their own progeny to them while retaining the name public school. I learned this reading Daniel Pool's 'What Jane Austen Ate and Charles Dickens Knew' to my wife.
I played a few places on bills with Kavus and saw him in various projects over the years before I actually had the courage to talk to him, and he really is one the loveliest and most modest muzos you're likely to come across. He seemed really taken aback i mentioned his label and his release Exquisite Corpse (which was like that drawing parlour game but with music,) he happened to start his contribution on that project after JG Thirwell (Foetus,) and he was incredibly humbled by that, by pure chance he got to collaborate with one of his heroes. We shared the same mutual admiration for JG. Kavus is as genuine as they come
@EveryoneLovesGuitar 😂 met Kavus unexpectedly as ended up most fortuitously going to a Miranda Sex Garden gig literally the same day I made this comment, my drummer loaned the promoter a drum kit for the evening so I got invited to attend. I was stumped what to talk about, most ironic
I make it 14 other The Monsoon Bassoon tracks not on I Dig Your Voodoo (not counting Aladdin). That's an album of greatness in waiting. Then there's the Authority and Miss Helsinki stuff. Get Dan on the case! Also, Don't Land On Me is great. REALLY missing Knifeworld.
Gong seems like another time my first purchase of Banana moon and Camembert Electrique 45 yrs ago blew my mind so experimental and the whole counter culture it seems that the 80s synth pop, metal etc was so disappointing, generic it's good that Gong like the Grateful dead have carried on from that wonderful 60s counter culture but they will never capture the spirit of that period ah well ! Good luck kavus with Gong. Peace !

Kavus is a lovely fellow but I don't know if have the stamina to listen to him for 3 hours! :-)
Do hope you get round to the Monsoon rerleases.
They were my favourite 90s band and I still play them all the time. Really hoping all the unreleased stuff comes out properly.

Right on @jameswarner5809, thanks for listening! 🎸💥🙌🏻
Just wondering what the diff is between Music Reboot and Taxi, which I first saw back in the 90s (? I think).
