Taking the literal meaning of Master and Crafted, The Z-Flex Master Crafted series is made up of unique boards by unique skateboarders.
The ‘Masters’ of skateboarding are the pioneers of the sport, the skaters who paved the way for skateboarding today, and the skaters that are still out there ripping 20+ years later. There’s only one ‘Master’ that we could possibly start this series with, and that’s the original seed of skateboarding himself, Jay Adams, in collaboration with the legendary skateboard craftsman, Paul Schmitt.
Jay and Paul worked hand in hand in creating a unique board for Jay’s style to help him skate better than he’s ever skated before.
This graphic was conceived of and themed by Jay Adams, and was created using reference photos supplied by Jay. The theme revolves around Jay pulling his “Zipperhead” open, and allowing parts of his life to be shown in the escaping smoke.
The final product is a board fit for Jay coming in at 9 3/8” wide X 33 ¼” long and a 15” wheelbase.

Without question Paul Schmitt is thee MASTER of skateboard deck design and manufacturer. Hes been doing it for so long and still innovative. In the eighties when i was really into skating...Schmitt made decks were all the rage. His side rail design was what everyone wanted. Concaves and shapes. Hes the man.

Received my 9 Inch Z-Flex pool deck the other day. Not this model. Took it out today. Started back after years off. It's amazing to kick turn like that again. It just feels right. Made for a surf style, rides that way.

now im regretting not getting 2 of the re-issue....one to run with some 8.5" tracker axis just like jay would run. And a second one with no risers just big/smol enough wheels to clear since there arent any wheel/grooves in the re-issue...or ill make my own. Risers+rails on one....and a second naked prob 159 standards since they dont bite like aces/ventures do with 56mm. Definitely going to be running 159 standards/conicals, venture 6.1s, stage IV 151, and possibly buy some ace 60s to try with this deck im going to baby it in the quiver. "willing" to try those axis trucks maybe even 9" with indy conical bushings just for the hell of it.
