Actually didn't know you should decline the conversion at ATMs. Thank you for that, absolute life-saver!
RH_3D if you accept conversion, the actual atm will adds it's own conversion fee. So always select without/decline conversion. I'm glad it's helped. Make sure to spread the word!
I forgot about it and got stung for 10% before the additional 2% on three occasions in Thailand before checking.
nice review and info. I played it at .75 speed cos she talks so fast and it was perfect . thanks very much
Ayy, gwarn!! One of the best and most informative reviews I've seen on UA-cam about anything lol.
Loved it.
Great video. Thanks for the information! I’ve spent years spending on international fees but thought it was more complicated to setup.
👍🏻
Your video is sweet and short and straight to the point. Thanks 😊
Thanks for commenting!
Well done Maria. Excellent content and exactly what I was looking for. Happy travels. 👍
Just signed up based on this review- thanks ✌️
;)
Very smart and great content, but maybe slow down a bit :)
I live in Prague, but have most of my income coming in Euros. I just ordered my Revolut card and even when using the virtual card has been a huge advantage.
Wow. You are one fast talker lady. I'll have to come back to this.
hey, what about just withdrawing the local currency without the exchange? like exchange gbp to czk on the app, and then withdraw the czk, without the new exchange rate (lets say you exchanged 100gbp when it czk was weak,-so you get more czk for gbp) and when you are in czechia, the current exchange rate is worse for you than the one before, could you then just withdraw the czk from any local bank atm? would it work
Excellent review Maria. Well presented with all the pros & cons. Thx!
Good review. To the point. Will sign up.
Thank you for watching
Great video! Very useful to show how withdrawal at the foreign ATM works.
Be aware that there is a limit on the amount of cash that you can withdraw from ATMs before incurring charges. The limit is determined by whatever account you have and the charges are reasonable but just be aware.
Thank you girl, what a gem!
Let’s assume on my Revolute Card I have £500 in GBP and nothing in Euros
Then let’s assume I just finished a meal at restaurant in France 🇫🇷 and the Bill came to €50
Should I just leave it as it is and tap my Card against the waiters money payment machine or no your better transferring some of your £500 GBP into Euros first then pay the Bill?
You can also get a virtual card on line , you can freeze your card at any time if lost for example .
Can I use the virtual card aboard also? Or do I need to have the actual Revolut Card.
Great video (and useful). Thanks Maria ! (Did you enjoy your visit to Prague ?).
Yes! Thank you!
Well explained. You should get more views.
Thanks for watching, I'm glad it has helped. I have been getting a lot more views recently, hopefully that increases even more over time.
Do you need to exchange the money on app to local currency before going to the ATM or paying with the card ?
No, just go to the atm and take out whatever currency you want.
Revolut has a 1% transaction fee on the weekend. Due to bank closure.
Great video. Thank you for the help!
no problemo.
Good info to know thanks 😊
If u buy first currency of the country at revolut and then u pay at this country it will automatically use this currency? Or 8t will buy gb again and they exchange again?
How do I know the pin of the card? Is it going to come with my card? Or do I have to create it through the app?
Please i have a question, can i deposit cash into my revolut Account with an ATM like i would on a normal bank?
Do you have to make an account for the currency you're going to or can you spend from your local account with the good exchange rates? Like if my local currency is USD and I'm going to UK, should I make a GBP account in my revolut app before I spend or can I just spend from the USD account?
Very helpful thankyou.
You are welcome. I'm here to answer questions if you have any 🙂
No one had mentioned about that no conversion button before
Make sure to select 'no conversion' as the actual atm may charge its own price. Its the same with paying at restaurants.
im waiting on my revolut card how do i select or make my own pin number on the app?
I've ordered 3 different physical cards on my new Revolut account. Can I see which card I have spent transactions on on my Revolut account?
Hi Maria, thanks for a Video. I am live in Germany and i ll be in UK for 4 months. I downloaded revolut and i want to using it. Paying here with the electrinic Card in Advance, in which currency is better to add the Money? in Pounds (meaning i have to pay fees bcs my bank acount is in euro) or to add Money in euro paying here choosing Pound in the pos etc. Thanks in Advance!
hi is it possible to take cash and put it in the card with an atm?
Hi! I am still confused about something. To make sure you don't pay any extra fees abroad, do you always have to exchange some of your pounds to the new currency before using the card, to make sure you get charged in the local currency straight away? Or is that unnecessary as there's never non-sterling transaction fees with Revolut (like the Monzo card)? I'm asking for both situations, paying for stuff and withdrawing cash.
When using this card to pay for stuff and withdrawing cash you do not need to convert any money. The card does it automatically. So if you are buying something in eur but the currency of your account in gbp you just use the card like normal, no conversion needed :)
Great, thanks! So I guess my other question is: what's the use of the Exchange function then? Why bothering converting your money into any other currency when you travel?
I've often wondered the same thing. I'm not entirely sure....I think it could be to help the user make the best of the exchange rate. For example, by converting 50 gbp into eur on the app, your kinda locking the eur in if you think the value of the gbp might decrease. I know of some people who converted thousaaaands of gbp into eur just before brexit because of the same principle.
That makes sense! Thanks a lot for your clear answers!
@@RatioMatter There's a small mark-up fee on weekends (when Forex market is closed). So if I plan to use the card in a foreign currency, I convert money on Friday, so that I use it during the weekend without that mark-up.
Also, you can use it as a budget feature. When you go on a trip, you can convert the exact amount of money you're ready to spend. So this way you can easily see how much is left and if you're overspending.
thanks
Also how can i deposit cash on the revolt card?
Hi, do I need to use my Revolut card in the UK before leave for USA. First timer ✌️
Do you use the standard free one or do you pay for the upgraded version? and also can u still pay internationally with the standard free one
Hi, a very useful video. My son is travelling to USA next week and we are going to add some money to his card which has just arrived. Does he have to convert to dollars before he goes or can he just tap it at restaurants to pay for meal and it will automatically convert to dollars from the amount on his card in GBP. Thanks in advance. Just don’t want him struggling whilst he’s there. From a worried mum
Is it possible to deposit money to a euronet atm with Revolut or not ?
dope vid thanks
If I top up with my debit card, will my bank charge a fee? Great video by the way, you've got a real style to your presenting.
+Mark Richards topping up to your Revolut account via a debit card has no fees. Thanks for watching!!😊
+Mark Richards if it is a USD top up I believe the fee is 3%. Credit cards also have a fee.
Maria Avi ... Thanks Maria ... I'll stick to using my Debit card then. Have a great 2018!
So you don't convert to local currency before you go away?
Top review ✌
Thank you!
Thank w
Can you deposit physical cash at an atm machine ?
Great vid
Thanks
Thank you
You're welcome
Well explained
Thank you!
Does it transfer money to Africa eg Nigeria
Hi I'm new to this revolut, how much max a day can i withdraw from an atm on my revolut account in my own country
what if the atm charges a standard withdrawal like $2 fee for every withdrawal? Does Revolut avoid that charge aswell?
I don't think so.
Great video
Thanks for sharing.x
You’re welcome 😊
How do you find your Pin on a Revolut card it keeps saying it’s not active Someone help I’m fed up ffs
Can u deposit though? On an atm?
Can you use this in Maldives
Can you withdraw cash in GBP in uk atm machine with Out fees.
Misba uddin yes you can😊
Maria Avi thanks.is there a charge and which atm accept it
Hi Maria, i want to ask few things: is it possible to top up Revolut from PayPal or someone else account ? 2. is the choice of accepting conversion or declining conversion comes also when you pay for eg in restaurant?? 3 . Is there anyway to put our converted currency back into the account
I have just checked on the revolut community website and the general consensus is that you cannot top up from a paypal account. However, there was one person who said that they were able to. You can top up your revolut account from more than one card account (Barclays Santander....) You also have the option of requesting or sending money to other revolut account holders.
When paying for things, I have had the option to request what currency I would be charged in. However, this was not always the case. Either I did not have the option, or the person who was operating the card machine had requested a certain currency without my consent? I cannot remember if i have had the option to accept a conversion or not.
For the last question, do you mean currency you have already withdrawn?
Thank you Maria
I am from Czech Republic woah
😊thanks for commenting
Is there any fees for using this card in German ATMs?
+Crypto Prophet you will get the interbank rate when exchanging from GBP to Euro, just make sure when taking money out an atm that you select 'without conversion'. Make sure to check the terms and conditions before you start using your card abroad. Revolut is a relatively new MasterCard the terms and conditions may change. Hope I've helped 😁
Yes you will get a Fee by the Sparkasse München and some more. In you want to avoid this fee, you will require a other debit or credit card like the dkb Visa, N26 MasterCard or a card of a local bank
All nice and all....Revolut card does NOT work in shops in Thailand. Disapointed....highly:-( you can withdraw cash....but stil get charged 220 bath fee from most thai banks. However paying goods in shops does not work!!! Tried in bkk....pattaya and hua hin...in 8several shops.(7/11..tesco etc etc)
Hi, may you know if can I sell bitcoin from coinbase to revolut card. thanks
No you can't
Hi I've got the app to deal with crypto but I'm struggling to link my bank, my cards are linked! Any ideas? Hny
Do you have a premium account? Or have you invited 3 friends to join revolut via your standard account? Once you have done this you should be able to buy crypto currency. Thanks for watching 🙂
Maria Avi yeah no I don't want to buy via rev just use the exchange then move to where I need it ie coinbase etc, but when adding beneficiary it won't do coinbase properly! Also can I add myself as a beneficiary as in my barc lays personal acc? Thanks for ur help! HNY
That is unusual. I think it might be because Coinbase dose not support bank deposits or withdrawals of GBP. I think the next step for you would be to add another currency (EUR) to your Revolut account (This can be done via your profile on the app), and transfer your crypto from your new EUR account? And yes you can add yourself as a beneficiary. I have done it myself!
Maria Avi sorted now! Done transfer from bank and from rev to coinbase so all sorted! Thanks Maria!
Anybody know if I can top up with my credit card? Or just cash?
You can but I believe revolut will take a fee of 2%
Hej just want know. How i can find my code PIN.
I have new card
Thanks
Is there an option to set it up in the app?
They wrote wait till card arrive 09 june. But i get my card yesterday
do you still us the bank and have you had any issues.
I haven't used it in a while as I have not traveled much this year. If my memory serves me correct, the last time I used it was late winter 2020 with no issues.
Can you lodge money
Not sure what you mean by this?
@@MariaAvi no you cant i checked digital payments only
Do they up the exchange rate on weekends
I am sure they do :)
Awesome information indeed! Does this company need verification with id or any other docyments?
+Ronni Zag I did not need any id when creating my account 😊
Great but when it comes to withdraw money or to raise your limits do they ask for any documents then? Thanks
no, not for me anyway. It could change as they are improving their security.
+Maria Avi interesting. I'll try this card possibly!!
If you do create an account could you please use my link!
revolut.com/r/maria2fn!crypto
Thank you!!
Hello please can someone in Nigeria download the Revolut app to receive money from a relative abroad??
I'm not too sure. I'm sure there are better options if the sole purpose is to receive money.
@@MariaAvi please what are the other options to receive money?.. My cousin in Dublin wants to send me money for Christmas but I don't know the easiest way to receive the money.. Please any suggestions?
how to deposit money ?
on the Revolut app
Do they deliver debit cards to nigeria
I should think so.
@@MariaAvi what do you need to signup
can i get a Revolut card issued by Visa?
I don't think you can specifically request a revolut card issued by Visa. My revolut card is a Mastercard, although I am aware that some revolut cards are visa.
Thanks for clarifying that.
cll
Wonder how they make money
They offer premium accounts that come with a monthly fee, one way they make money.
Another way is there is a 0,5% fee for weekend conversion. I have to add that even then the exchange rate is still better than rate of my local bank.
How do you deposit money to this account?
You do it on your phone via the app :)
In Germany you shouldn‘t usw. this Card, when you want to get Money on every atm. You will require the dkb Visa card
You can and should use this card in Germany. It works like any other visa card.
Maria Avi bitte You will get a very high fee. I try this Card and after 8 € of fee i give this Card back. I would more recommend the n26 MasterCard, Comdirect Visa and v-pay Card and the visa Card from the dkb
Hopefully I'll be travelling to Germany this year. If I do I will try to use my revolut card.
Maria Avi i can give you one tip, avoid some of the save and loans Banks for example the Sparkasse München and go to Unicredit or Commerzbank, it will be much cheaper you will only Pay 0 € or in the badest situation only 2 €. In germany should you use Cards like the n26 MasterCard or others
Prague :-)
Check out my vlog channel 'Maria Avi Vlogs". I vlogged my time there!!
It takes a lot of 1% currency savings (at best) if they "lose" just 1 wire of top-up from you....
What do you mean.🙂
When i tried to contact Revolut via its live app - i was told there would be a 30 minute delay.
What kind of live chat is this?
That was enough to confirm how rubbish it is.
🤔
Put the speed up on this video
LOL. I don't think that's is the best thing to do.
Euronet are the worst lol
sorry who!
@@MariaAvi you used a euronet atm they give you the worse exchnage rates
