Great information because this will reduce hassles with currency conversions in some countries. For instance in the Philippines most places will refuse Dollars that are older than 2013, dollars with a little ink blemish or otherwise. Not to mention the one million questions you will be asked and the payee checking each dollar 1000 times before giving you your money. Other crazy hassles too long for me to detail here. So WISE is the way to go.

Hello Hogan :) To make an Ltd. in the UK people have to make a UK business bank account. Can I make only a Wise account instead? Will they accept that in the UK? Don't you know? Best, Adam

Not sure if anyone is going to see this but I was looking for advice on whether I should create my Wise account now (in USA) or after I move (to Japan). I ask this because Wise asks about where I live most of the time and also what my phone number is for account security purposes. Well, I will be living in Japan for at least a year. And once I move, I will no longer have my US phone number as I need a Japanese one to open a bank account there for my salary.
Will it matter if I sign up in US now and then edit my details after I move or just wait and create one while in Japan with my Japanese address and phone number? The ultimate goal is to be able to send Yen from my Japan bank to my US bank account as USD. Thanks!!

Hello. I’ve been using WISE for 2 years now however whenever my client sends me my salary the conversion is way below the realtime conversion (USD-PHP). On the other hand, my other client sends exactly what i should be receiving. I don’t know if it’s on his side or mine since he always say that he sends the exact amount in USD. Pls help

Good question. I set up a Euro balance to send money from UK to a relative in Europe. I was surprised that the transaction took 6 seconds. I was expecting a few days. The limitation is that the person you are sending to needs to have a Wise account. That is a hassle if your relatives use a variety of other services like PayPal or Revolut.
I noticed that Wise sends a code by SMS each time I log on and also asked for the password to be entered again to confirm a transaction. Did your Uncle and cousins try Wise or did they end up using something else like PayPal?

For you to send, you should have a verified account. Your receipent doesn't need a WISE account, since you can send the funds directly to their local bank.

As receiver you don't need to have a Wise acc. You just need to have a bank acc to where the money transfer goes. You'll only need a Wise acc if you're sending in or transferring money elsewhere.
You need to top up your account with money before receiving your account details

My Korean friend said she cannot link her korean bank account to her wise app. How so? I thought Wise is quite international.She can only receive money from overseas and deposit the money into her Korean bank account. My sender is from Canada and he wants to send me money using his Canadian Bank. Is it feasible for him to send US Dollars using her Canadian bank account? I'm from the Philippines
They can create a Wise account by following this video. Then, they will be able to send USD to you (Philippine bank account) using Canadian dollars.
But it maybe better for you to also have an Wise account that they can directly send to. So when they send you USD you can convert it back to PH currency at a better rate then your local bank.
Or maybe its better if they send your CAD to your Wise account. Then they dont need to convert to USD. And then you just convert CAD to PH.

Most cases, not needed. I have successfully sent funds without entering their email. it's normally just to send them the receipient an email notification.
