ReveD Hub and Axle Install on MST RMX2.0S RWD RC Drift Car

  • This turned out interesting!
I noticed that one of my front wheels spun more freely than the other one on my MST RMX2.0S drift car.
A free spinning front tire is very important to the overall speed of a RWD RC drift car.
With this in mind, I had already replaced the bearings in my factory hubs. Still, the sides of the car still behaved differently.
My guess is there must be something bent in either the hub or the axle itself.
    Enter the ReveD products!
    We picked up three items:
    1) Front Knuckles / Hubs: rover.ebay.com...
    2) Axles: supergdrift.com...
    3) Axle Nut: www.rcmart.com...
EDIT: Since this video, I have done a BUNCH of testing on different bearings and bearing oils. Check those out here:

Bearings can wear in, especially if they have some excesssive/ heavier grease. Drive Hard!
Great ideal for the testing protocol.

If you look at the Japanese drift guys they use a bearing oil rather than grease granted the bearing could be cheaper or could be too thick a grease in them ?

Hey it Shannon. If the bearings were packed with grease from the factory you need to clean that out. Blast them with some parts cleaner and use some highspeed bearing oil to lube them up. You'll be good to go. Hope it helps.

you can take the seal off of one side clean them out put a couple of drops of speed oil in them leaving the seal out put them back in with the sealed side facing out great less drag not too much oil is important and it is very important not to over tighten them thank for the videos troy chris

    hi Troy, i got question,
    after use bigger bearing,
is MST RMX stock front axle fit and can be use to that ReveD knuckle?
it is 5 mm inner diameter bearing right and stock RMX axle also 5mm diameter?
but don't have clue on length of axle

what kind of servo are you running? looks like its not happy working with the gyro. I had a Savox on my setup at first and had that same wobble when the gyro was turned up over 50%. Made the switch to a Yokomo one and it's working great now.

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  4 роки тому +2

      Thanks!
Yes, it is a savox. Certainly has a wobble that is normally smoothed by setting it to a smooth return. However, I have some slop in the steering that I am not sure where it is coming from.
Still - I agree that a better servo would help.

WD-40 will take out the factory grease and make them spin much better. You can always put in thinner lubricant after you hit it with WD-40 if you're concerned about wear on the bearings. I've seen people pop out the rubber seal and WD-40 the bearings and just run like that. Other than that, you could get ceramic bearings.
