Thanks for a great shock rebuild video. The only other thing I’ve seen, which is done by x-ray is they thread the shock shaft through the O-ring and twist it rather than just push it so it doesn’t tear the inside of the O-ring. Might be worth trying.

Can you do a video on advanced driving techniques, competition style?
There are a lot of videos on setup, but nobody really teaches you how to drive. .
Also, this vid is great, answered questions I’ve had for a while!

Timmy Woo had a really good tutorial. I learned heaps from him and really, outside of that, is learning your setup. Learn your transmitter, your gyro, alignment and shock settings.
On top of that, make little changes at any given time and test often. Make a change? Make time to test your changes.

Great video. I learned a few new tips and I’ve been rebuilding shocks for years! I like how you set the ball cup to match the cars droop. 👍🏽. Keep the videos coming.

Awesome walkthrough - I’ll be using this to help teach other people how to build their shocks (so I don’t have to anymore)!
Another good tip to mention for beginners to significantly prolong damper life is to store your car with the compression fully decompressed. I see a lot of guys store their cars with loose in bags/cases under their own weight or even strapped down with the suspension fully compressed - their shocks tend to need rebuilding far too frequently. I store my cars with a seatbelt pad underneath and I’ve yet to have to rebuild my shocks on car for wear/tear reasons. Any type of cushion or stand that fits under your car and allows it to sit with the suspension uncompressed will have the same effect - it keeps the pressure off the o-rings and significantly improves their lifespan and performance.
I hope this little tip compliments this excellent video and keeps more drivers on track!

Great tip Brandon! We all definitely keep our shocks elevated when stored. Keeps the diaphragms from divoting. - Mitch

Thanks a lot for this tip I am new and just built my shocks. Cheers. Great video. Model car drifting is no joke, and little tips like this I’m sure will go a long way.

Like seeing a company grow, like to see more, very informational on this video, keep it up!
Can you do a video of ride hight and suspension calibration?

Us off-road guys usually build the shocks with no rebound to help with landing from jumps and loose surface racing. Loves this tutorial and will also be directing others to it to learn.

Thanks for the info Sawyer! Might not be so useful for drifting but may try it out one day to see how it affects the car. - Mitch

@@RollingGarageRc definitely would agree it’s not going to be useful for drifting lol

@@Soysaucerc May try it anyways for experimentation purposes. Been looking at your guys emulsion and bladder shock builds. Definitely much different than drift shock builds.

How often to you rebuild the shocks? I’ve been running the same Yokomo big bores but only have 6-8 hours on them.
Can you also do a review of your MC-1? I’ve have one too and am curious on what your setup is like.

curious, you dont set any preload with your shocks when putting the top cap on? i know some people will do preload while i see your build you just put the shock all the way down

How many mm are your shocks?

    • @taimaishu-nao1922
      @taimaishu-nao1922 Рік тому

55mm, if I’m not mistaken. It’s a Topline shock so they’re spec’d similarly to TRF.

The reason why we racers buikd with no rebound is because the rebound duty belongs to the springs only and the shock absorbsion duty belong to the shocks itself
