I just ordered an 11.8 Revo for my Meucci JS cue. I used my teammate's Revo yesterday, and holy cow, it's awesome! I wish Meucci had a review of their carbon shaft, but no luck with that.
I’m new and always use the cue from their place I keep finding myself winning with regular ones so I started to believe that I need my own cue so under 500 which one would u recommend?
You shoot with your thumb on top of the cue like I do sometimes. You are the only one I've seen do this. Cool. If you were to shoot with my OG 314 (10.9mm) and 2nd gen Z (11.1mm) wooden shafts, you would be amazed by how low deflection they are. 1/4 inch over the length of the table.
Yea it’s a habit my coach told me to quit doing years ago, needless to say I didn’t listen.. Thumbs up shooters let’s go! Lol 10.9 on a 314 sheesh 😲 I love the 314 may need to take you up on that
I use the predator P-3 black with a vantage shaft. Little stiffer than my 314-3 shaft which shoots phenomenal as well. I'm not sold on carbon fiber shaft yet. I've tried a few and the ones that almost converted me were the pinnacle and the SMO ... haven't tried them all but I'm gonna stick with what I know best
The 314-3 was my first LD shaft, and I loved it. I've never tried the Vantage, are you referring to the Lucasi Pinnacle? I've noticed that once you've been playing with something long enough it kind of doesn't make sense to change.
@PoolNerdsTV i have a variety of lucasi hybrid custom cue shafts that also have the uniloc joint. I love them all. Each has its own characteristics... there are times when I will need the skinny shaft, and there's times when I need to use my McDermott stinger jump break cue for deadly safety shots. I also liked harder tips, but I've converted to having the exact one I need for the given shot at hand. Mostly, kamui soft and predator medium I use now.... depending on cue ball mass
Mostly every top Asian player still uses wood. Pros like Allison Fisher, Earl Strickland stayed with wood but due to sponsors and higher profits on CF that's what they must use. Look at Savannah Easton she switched back forth n stayed wood
Give your thoughts on the Rhino shafts..You seem like you have played with the Revo for awhile. Let me know how you feel about the Rhino..Is it close to par, too light, sound really different, quality, deflection on use, fitment on the butt. Thanks

They are totally different shafts, the Z-Shaft is a 11.85 diameter shaft with a conical taper and the Vantage is 12.9 which to me is their kinda standard low deflection cue.. To me the best Predator wood shaft is the 314-3 unless you want a much smaller tip size then go with Z-Shaft. I don’t see any point in the Vantage shaft unless your replacing one or just want the bigger tip diameter and more forgiving shaft
Have you seen the j flowers SMO video it has lower deflextion the the revo, and the cuetec. What I don’t like about the revo is the sound of impact, to me it sounds cheap. I know it’s not. There video was great!! Thanks steve
I run a Curly Maple Grey P3 with an 11.8 shaft, MAKO soft tip. Originally got it with a 12.4 but after a year i went smaller. Its sooooo accurate, but you need to be as well. My teammates tried Cuetec, Rhino n all kindsa cheap cues, but once you work ur game a cheap cue can be a handicap. And after shooting my P3 n loving the feel, several have bought Predator Revos!

Awesome! The Revo is unarguably the lowest if you're looking for the lowest deflection shaft on the market. However, some people like deflection and if you don't want it so low but want to use carbon fiber, the J Flowers is a good shaft. I personally like the lower deflection just because I'm use to it. I will do a comparison on both in the next few days, I'm currently editing a ton of content including the jflowers.

Hey man! How do you feel about the radial joints vs uni-lock? After watching this and trying out a revo friday night for the first time imma pull the trigger on a 12.4 but only butts i can afford are all uni-lock.
@@xtkopx640 Uni-lock is fine it’s probably the most popular however they are known to come loose, I definitely prefer a radial joint but if that’s the only option it is what it is..
@@xtkopx640 also look up cuedsg cues on Amazon you can find a decent Merry Widow radial joint you for less than $200 don’t get the leather wrap tho, it’s garbage go with the Irish Linen. Also they don’t label it radial they call it 3/8-8 it’s the same

Mezz Ignite is still the best. At least for me. I've played with 12.4 revo for 2 years. I've tried the other variations of revo and a few other carbon fiber shafts. but nothing can beat the power and feel of the Ignite. I know it's subjective. Just try one for yourself! All the best!
I've owned all three, and I simply make less cueing errors and make more balls with the 12.9. And, don't let anyone tell you that you can't move the cue ball around the table with it. See Tyler Styer Mosconi Cup member.

It’s like comparing apples to oranges.. The Z3 is Conical Taper like 11.8.. it’s also a smaller diameter like 11.8. However they play nothing alike. I didn’t like the Z3 but I love the 11.8.. I would say the 11.8 is a z3 on steroids
From what I can tell, I think you’re absolutely right. However the JFlowers SMO they say is now #1 in terms of deflection. Haven’t tried it yet, but should be getting one pretty soon
i dont like the glossy finish the revo has, the more time you use it it will loose that glossy finish. I went with the Jflowers SMO. Has the same defleciton as revo and feels more solid specially with the TAOM fusion tip
Yea it does lose the finish, even tho it’s still very sleek. Honestly, I think the wipes that come with the Revo actually take the finish off some, interesting you mentioned that.. I didn’t put include that info ℹ️… I’ve been hearing the SMO is a great shaft unfortunately I haven’t ran across it yet but I’m looking forward to giving it a go

Nice! Which do you like the best? Honestly, I don't trust any of those at-home deflection tests because there are many factors with stroke, and tip placement that may not be consistent when a person is trying to perform a test. What I shared was stated directly by Predator themselves, and anyone can call them and verify. As for my own opinion, I personally can't tell.. Some say the 11.8 is lowest and in my own opinion I don't find that to be true but everyone's game is unique and that's what makes this sport so unique.

Yeah my friend told me the same thing that 11.8 is lower deflection than the 12.4 and 12.9 since it's a thinner shaft and 12.9 would have more deflection since it's a thicker shaft
@@zanethind using all 3 the 11.8 is definitely lower than 12.9 and 12.4, quite a bit lower than 12.9 I'd say. Most guys I know use 12.4 and some are fantastic players so it's just sticking to one and you'll be fine

Started playing at 14 and played heavy until about 21.. then didn’t touch a cue for 10+ years, so I went through the unlearning and relearning phase for a while so I have some catching up to do
Lmao 12.9 too big. Until Predator came out with the 314 shaft at 12.75 everyone was playing with 13mm or 13.5mm shafts. Buy any older cue. Even Earl Strickland describing a cue 30 years ago says shafts typically 13.5mm

12.9..too big. Try to hit the right spot when the balls are locked up together..It's like a broom stick.
