My Dewalt set you have there has lasted me ~3 years so far. They never come off my person even when I'm crawling through crawlspaces, or balancing my way through an attic. I still have no issues with the battery life, sound quality, or connection issues this far in. I've even snagged the cord several times and still no issues 10/10 product.

@@FunkFPV I'm on my 3rd set of these exact same earphones. Ive found if you work outdoors in the elements all day like I do (I'm an arborist), the rubber that covers the volume/power button seems to harden enough to hold the buttons down just enough to constantly be turning the volume up or down or turn the power off. I had to end up cutting the rubber cover off the buttons of my 3rd pair to get them to work again. Probably won't be buying a 4th pair. My LG earphones lasted alot longer and had better sound quality and were alot louder

I have these! I have burned through so many headphones cause the cords are getting worn out. These are the first ones that have the battery to truly last a long time, have the screens to keep the insides clean, and the strain relief on the cables! The neck band is so much better than a wire or even the earbud style.

About 3 weeks ago I got a pair of over the ear headphones on Amazon. When I got them, I charge them for around 2 hrs. They are advertised to have 200 hours play time.
I just wish I had these before I spent over $300 on 2 pair of Steel Series Pro. I loved everything about the Steel Series Pro.
But, they have a design flaw that causes them to brake very easily. The ear cup that goes over your ear is like a slingshot with only one side supporting the ear cup. Then to compound the problem. The ear cup is made of very cheap plastic.
The new ones I got off Amazon for $20 USD are called PICUN B8. Best 20 I have ever spent. I use them around 12 to 16 hours a day and have to charge them about every 6 or 7 days.
Great review they sound great for phone use. All of my battery powered tools are dewalt.

As far as Amazon goes for speakers and headphones it is a complete 💩 show. All the garbage is pushed to the top. I’ve been looking for a decent pair of speakers for my PC. The search only comes up with only $20 junk that’s all basically the same products under a different name.

Tozo NC9's are a good pick. $30-$40, great sound quality with excellent bass, noise cancelling mode for when you're running powered tools, awareness mode that amplifies surrounding sound and conversation.

I'm a Ford Tech here in Houston. I rock with the LG Tone Style (HBS-SL5). They usually last me about 2 years, so I normally buy myself a set every other Christmas. The ability to retract them and get them out of the way is a really nice feature. Once I had the ability to retract them and get them out of the way, it's almost impossible for me to go to a pair without that feature

I do construction and have used wired and the bluetooth wireless like LG that are like those Dewalts. None of them ever last. You will hook them at some point and the ear bud will stop working. About 7 years ago i moved to the KZ iems and still have my first pair that work perfect due to the cables are detachable. If the cord breaks just buy another 10$ cable and good to go. Or just buy the bluetooth wireless over ear and your complete wireless which work just as good as when there wired. I currently use The KZ AZ09 Bluetooth 5.2 Module IEM Bluetooth Adapter with the KZ ZAS IEM Earphones,16-Unit Hybrid High-Frequency 7BA+10mm Dual DD HiFi Stereo Sound Earphones Noise Cancelling Earbuds . They sound better then any earbud ive ever tried.

I have gone though 2 sets of these.
    Pros:
    * "on neck" style always seem to have bigger batteries and stay put better than the "lanyard" ones
    *lots of ear bud option
    *USB-C charging port
*warranty support was no fuss/no muss when i requested a replacement for a broken head (see cons)
*really long battery life. i have a bud in my ear playing something most of the day and often at night for sleep music and have gotten away with a good day and a half before getting the low battery alert.
    CONS:
*the yellow "heads" all break off the rubber neck band in a manner of months. (both sides, both sets i have had) a liberal application of CA glue has seemed to work as a repair
*the neck band is not stiff enough to hang on when on my back, sliding off often. i bent a "hanger wire" around it and taped it on to fix it
*no "mag hold" on the body to keep the ear buds up and out of harms way (pulled a bud off the wire as a result). glued on my own set of magnets as a mod
    * this is a "kinda-con" battery life goes down hill quick after about a year

I prefer the new "bone conduction" style of headphones. They wrap around the back of your head and hug around your ears so they dont fall off and dont get caught on anything. They also have really good sound quality for the size (about the same as on ear headphones, so better than buds, but not quite as good as full over ears). Most of them even have a waterproof rating (as they are meant for athletes, sometimes even swimmers)! They do tend to cost $80+ and have only about 6 hrs of battery at full volume (they dont cover your ears at all so ambient can easily drown it out), but you can optionally wear ear plugs with them though so that is a way to use them.

    • @Unwinter
      @Unwinter 2 місяці тому +2

They tend to become unusable in high noise environment counterintuitively. Unless you use ear protection to block other sounds. Then you might as wel go for a better sound quality of conventional drivers.

They're absolutely not worth it. Bone conduction earphones have been a thing for a decade now and there's a reason why they never took off. I tried a few myself over the years before I fully moved on to IEMs.

Noise-cancelling earbuds, $60 from Anker. I used to swear by wired earbuds because: 1. I could pull them out easily, and 2, I was afraid of them falling out while mountain biking. But with the "passthrough" mode, it's no longer necessary: I just tap my left ear twice, and I can hear everything. In fact voices are even louder than real life. So I just don't take them out, I just pair them to whatever I want to hear: the PC, phone, etc. I use them ~10 hours a day. Also never had a problem with them falling out, even while mountain biking. I use foam tips from Comply for comfort - but I used those with my wired ones too.
Ps. Tip for getting the best seal: open your mouth like you're yawning while pushing them in. Makes a big difference.

It is hard to beat the ONN earbuds from Walmart for $10. You can adjust the bass to 50Hz and music is wonderful at all volume levels. No hassle getting them to pair with phones or PC.

I've had a pair of these for a couple of years now and I'm probably on my 6th pair
To add to the point you had with your Sony earbuds breaking occasionally with wear and tear on job sites, my favorite part of these being DeWalt earbuds is that they have their DeWalt 3-year warranty that can be abused
I'm on my sixth pair of these earbuds in 2 years. Going pretty hard on them, and each time it's been dealt some kind of damage. I've been able to walk into the Lowe's I bought them from and return them in customer service. Walk right across the store and buy another pair immediately after having the amount I paid for them refunded my Lowe's card
If they were any other brand of earbuds I would be about $300 deep in replacements
Since it has the word DeWalt on it though and the knuckleheads at Lowe's aren't the brightest, I've been able to get effectively five other pairs of these earbuds with the same $60 repeatedly
Phenomenal video as always though, huge fan of the channel

Dude you can buy Bluetooth beats with noise canceling with the wire style maybe under $50. You can do noise canceling, pass through and if you set it up with an iPhone they will act as electronic ear pro so if a loud sound happens suddenly your headphones will automatically turn on the noise cancellation.

I got the new ones with the built in speakers. About two months later the rubber ear hooks I selected started falling off. After barely recovering one from a Goodwill parking lot a couple weeks ago, I found it was gone for good later that same day.
Wish list for a future version:
    More secure rubber pieces.
Braided cable sleeves so that the ear buds can tolerate snags and tangles better.
A mono mode so that I can wear one earbud and not make certain content unlistenable (a local news program is particularly bad about this where press conferences have the speaker on a different channel than everyone else).
A way to skip, turn off, or cancel the voice that interrupts your content with “SPEAKER MODE!” and “HEADPHONE MODE!” every time you switch.
Labels screen printed instead of clear plastic stickers that eventually start peeling off and annoying you worse than any shirt tag ever has.
Battery life is excellent. Earbud quality is fine. Speaker quality is serviceable. At times I’ve been wearing the earbuds while unknowingly blasting the speakers at everyone around me. Oops.

I used those Sony ones for the past few years here in Ireland(I'm a smelly builder). Recently I had to get a new pair and the sound quality has really dropped off, I just use them for podcast too. They do slip off my neck a bit till they break in.

You always hear your suroundings and they work with earprotection (earplugs).
I use the one from Shokz for over 1,5 years now and i realy like them.

Have had 3 pairs of Beats X and Beats Flex earbuds since 2018. First pair battery crapped out after a year, second pair got caught on a fence and tore the wire. Have had this latest pair for 4 years and have been shocked that the battery is still kicking. But of course, now that I have said this...
    May try the DeWalts.. 😂

I’m not supposed to wear earbuds at work so I wear wireless raycons and cover my ears with my hair or a bandana. But I’ve spent the last 10 or so years wearing an earbud in one ear and an earplug in the other rotating ears regularly, and having annual hearing tests, I have had no hearing loss in that time while working in a loud environment with stamping presses and running an impact gun at head level. So there is that.

I've got through two pairs of these in less than a year. They sound good, battery life is great, but the quality/durability is not there. Unfortunately that's true of a lot of Dewalt tools i've bought in the last couple years. Miter saw, wet/dry vac, "torpedo" heater, stud finder, air compressor all have had issues within a couple months of purchase
