@Ems Life it was not the mob what convinced the jury for the result of guilty. It was all the videos they had to watch every time. One step at a time for them to see the violence, arrogance and prepotency of Mr Chauvin. Just because he was wearing a police uniform he thought he was entitled to act violent with no body questioning him
I actually thought they worked for the state. That goes to show you how dedicated they are as professionals and devoted to justice. Incredible people 👏.
I think it is amazing, and speaks to personal convictions, that not only did the lawyers and several of the Prosecutions' experts donate their time in service of justice, they did a spectacular job! They really put in the work, not caring that they did not make a cent, and they presented thorough evidence to back up their findings. I was surprised the defense witnesses were paid as much as they were, Mr. Blackwell and Mr. Schlueser were able to pick apart their theories pretty quick. Those men did a great job for Mr. Floyd!
Those two prosecutors did an outstanding job in proving their case against Chauvin. He had a chance to do the right thing and get off of George Floyd's neck and he chose to be the judge and jury. He should never be allowed get out of prison.
@Deplorable are you gonna write on every comment jury intimidation? Maybe the jury saw what the public all saw a brutal animal who continued to kneel on someones neck for over 3 minutes after he had no pulse! Only acceptable verdict imo!
I also think that Dr. Tobin should get kudos as well. To me, his testimony nailed the coffin shut for Chauvin. I don't know where this would've went if he didn't testify.
@Deplorable I'm so sick of seeing your posts saying "jury intimidation". NO INTIMIDATION AT ALL!! The Jury heard all the witnesses, saw all the video's & other evidence & that's why they came back with a guilty verdict on all 3 counts against Chauvin. Deal with it!
Mr Schleicher and Mr Blackwell were awesome on top of their game, built for this moment. I love them, Mr Schleicher in the closing arguments brilliant.
They were trash. Emotions ruled the day and the prosecution failed to prove Chauvin had anything to do with Floyd’s sudden cardiac event. If you thought they were brilliant you must have missed most of the trial

And I enjoy mr Schleicher when he was asking the witnesses questions in a polite way and that smile that he had on his face, and in a compassionate way,and mr Blackwell was also excellent great job guys, we love you both.
Mr. Schliecter with the smile, came for them, systematically through seemingly mundane fact finding, which constructed a fool proof case, that made the defense witnesses seem stupid, and drew out powerful testimony from the state’s witnesses. Jerry Blackwell, humble, self effacing, respectful, seeming very harmless, was so thorough, and squeezed every tiny bit of information, and clinched it all with a beautiful bow. He was the clincher. Scleicter got the story, Jerry clinched the deal. They were all awesome! Glad Blackwell closed. The jury instructions by Schleicter was phenomenal, took away the mystery of “reasonable doubt!” Then Nelson came and introduced confusion, but Blackwell cleaned it all up, forcefully. It was a risky but powerful decision to have Dr. Tobin there on the final day. The way the team handled the case should be required viewing for law students! Magnificent!
And Steve Schleicher is not???? There was still quite a bit of racism seen - those who saw the video over and over again and still blamed George for his own death - just because he's black, it's nothing to be proud of at all.
@@karendegenerous600 So Karen, I'm just wondering what it is about the op that caused you to write that comment? The op didn't say ANYTHING good, bad or indifferent about Atty Schleicher. It was a compliment to Blackwell. The ommission of Schleicher in the comment didn't connote ANYTHING about him. Are you, perhaps, exposing your own implicit bias?
@Deplorable maybe by the police...if at all. The public doesn't know the jurors' names or even what they look like. The police were allowed in the court room and would be able to figure out who they were and where they lived. But despite all of that, they still convicted a police officer.
I'll never forget these two faces and voices. Their heroic work was so impressive. I envision one day Floyd will shake their hand and they will hear the words, "Well done, they good and faithful servant!"
@Kev Burrows in the Christian faith, if we truly repent and accept Christ’s way in our heart, we are forgiven..he made changes in his life from those years ago and moved to MN in an effort to further better himself. The death of his mother, loss of job, and Covid affected him negatively in terms of drug use, but he was not a violent person...(and the lady was not pregnant)
@Kev Burrows that was many years ago..we have Christ and his forgiveness, and on earth moving forward I’d hope others wouldn’t eternally condemn me for mistakes I made 10 years ago and served time for. As for Chauvin, I believe that for him also if he does find a place in his heart to accept love and forgiveness. His soul still has a chance. No one knows for sure, the true state of his heart. Just going off the video, one could assume a couple different things..1. That he’s supremacist and/or had mindset of you don’t comply you die and because I’ve gotten away with my ways many times before, I will continue to no matter what OR 2. He’s just high on his own power and had the mindset of I’m in charge, and no one is going to tell me or intimidate me into backing down. I think and hope it’s #2 in his case..that he was literally too drunk on power to clearly think about the permanency of what he was doing because he was too busy thinking about his ego, his tough image and showing his dominance with the new officers My opinion is his chances for salvation are better if it’s #2
@@stevea2488 If you go back an listen to jury selection you will understand that the jurors were thoroughly vetted. Not everyone is influenced by media/social media. There are those of us who can listen to the facts presented in court and come to a conclusion based solely on those facts. Not everyone is a sensationalist.
@juul nicotino lol!!! Didn't meant it that way!! 😂😂 with all respect beauty has nothing to do with his intelligence! I listened the trial in full. Day by day, and couldn't believe that still are some people doubting the results of this trial. Brutally is not acceptable, not matter what skin color we have. I'm from California and also Hispanic. I have had one bad experience with a police when I waved him for help with my car. And the police was also Hispanic. I had to put him on his place and a nice Caucasian sheriff came over to me to protect me. Is not about the looks, is about the integrity of the person
Integrity? Moral people? Beautiful souls, etc.? You people must be joking. Lawyers are liars, it's a useful stereotype. Jerry Blackwell seems like a genuine enough guy, but this might have been more of a career move for Steve Schleicher. It's conceivable that the prosecution secretly have their doubts about whether Chauvin is truly guilty. Floyd was saying "I can't breathe" before he was on the ground, when he was sitting in the car. The coroner said Chauvin died of a heart attack, not asphyxiation. The likely cause of death was a stress-induced heart attack that was exacerbated by Floyd's fear of police, being suddenly awoken in his vehicle by police with guns, his poor arterial health, and an overdose of highly-deadly fentanyl. The coroner further noted that if he didn't know Floyd encountered police, he would have concluded the cause of death was heart attack by drug overdose. Restraining Floyd on the ground for 1 minute or even 0 seconds was probably enough to kill the panicked Floyd...forget the 9 minutes and 29 seconds. Simply the emotional and physical stress of resisting arrest was likely enough. Again, reasonable doubt is the standard for justice here. I would argue that the police are perhaps guilty of having literally "scared Floyd to death," but does that constitute 2nd or 3rd degree murder? Not according to Minnesota's own legal definition. Which is why the Attorney General hired these two guys to manipulate the emotions of the jury into mentally ignoring the jury instructions (the real law) and voting "guilty on all counts." Minnesota couldn't afford the public image of another BLM riot. Chauvin is reminiscent of the "fall guy" trope. The attorney general is like the "brains of the operation," Schleicher is like the "doer" and Blackwell is like the "performer," a la 'Chauvin has a small heart.' Perhaps some people are more predisposed to seeing the facts of life without infusing emotion. It's called science. If we start to discriminate between people by the size of their "heart" i.e. soul, then it's clear science has exited the courtroom.
Many, many thanks to these two men and the whole team. Thanks for running a clean, competent, thorough case. It helped a great many of us understand what happened to Mr. Floyd and how it came about. Police violence is a terrible blight and it undermines confidence in our safety and our government. The prosecution did something towards restoring that, as well as shining a brighter light on the need for police reform. I don't know what I would have done if the prosecution had been fumbled and Chauvin had gone free, I think I would have completely lost heart.
I'm disappointed though. I so would have love to see and listen to Chauvin on the stand. I was hoping to see how Steve Schleicher and Jerry Blackwell would have crush him to bits. Soooo disappointed, as there was a game plan.
Watching this I just keep saying in my head "George, people stood up for you. You were worth standing up for. You Mattered" I wish with all my being he was just sitting in that empty chair RIP George Perry Floyd x
it sure was... it will go down in history no doubt... I know for myself I felt some closure being able to watch... the humility, grace and intelligence of these 2 gentlemen along with the many many others who, as Steve Schleicher says all came together, every single witness, every single member of the prosecution team.... it was simply an honour to watch and such an antidote to the horror of Mr Floyds death (although of course nothing will ever wipe away what happened)
These guys are such heroes. Also doing it pro Bono: wow! ❤️❤️❤️ Blackwell was insane with the crossings of the witnesses. The way he picked Fowler apart was just so brilliant I think I’ll go back and rewatch it some day just for the beauty of it. And with Schleicher I agree with what others said: such a nice and sweet smile and then the toughness hit just out of nowhere 😂 I am also so impressed with Ellison and his devotion and his take on the motive and his compassion and kind heart, being able to say that he felt bad for Chauvin. What an amazing balance of perspectives within that man. And I’m impressed with judge Cahill: so collected and focused on doing his job the entire trial. He doesn’t get to be the hero like these guys, he’s the one doing the touch but so important job of safeguarding the system, and he did it flawlessly. I really feel for him the enormous pressure he must be under for sentencing now. Also on a personal note, when I watch Blackwell and Schleicher it makes me sad to not know them personally. Like they seem to be such intelligent, compassionate, sharp-minded and thoughtful people, and think how wonderful it would be to get to have dinner with them and just talk to them. @Deplorable Stupid criminal policeman made bad error by kneeling on someones neck for 9 minutes. The jury were probably sold on guilty just by looking at the video without any witnesses. 99.9% of humanity probs thought Chauvin guilty, just the 0.1% without a brain or a soul thought Chauvin did nothing wrong.
Jerry Blackwell has never done a criminal case before?! I am floored. I thought he was the best attorney out of some really top notch attorneys. Mr. Blackwell if you read this you should really consider going in the criminal law direction.
I watched the trial multiple days mostly the prosecutions side & you did one hell of a job! Congratulations. You worked wonderfully together! You deserve this countries respect & admiration for a job well done! Pro-Bono is huge +! I felt your compassion for this family in my soul & I learned a great deal! Watching your love your practice was clearly evident! Thank you for doing such a great job & ridding this country of this individual. It was a flawless trial because you made sure your case was airtight & ethically done.I'm a Neonatal ICU RN & oxygenation is a human infants first breath is vital & I was highly aware of his oxygen deprivation & very conscious of it & the timing!. The first time I watched that video I clearly remember thinking "OK, let him get up now……let him get up………Gosh Damnit man LET HIM UP! LET HIM GET UP!! GET YOUR KNEE OFF HIS GOSH DAMN NECK! I knew he was dead! I've never witnessed such a callous disregard for a human life than that video! It's genuinely heartbreaking!
I also watched but remain concerned about something. I studied physics and when I analysed Chauvin's body position and force vectors I come to a very different conclusion Dr Tobin. Basically, I don't see the force on Floyd's back as described by Dr Tobin. I am also dubious that Chauvin had half his weight on Floyd's neck because it's easy to shift one's weight from one knee to the other without it being noticeable. I'm no doctor and wanted to know if Floyd could have died by being in the prone position alone? I also noticed that Floyd was still breathing for some time after the leg reflexes which indicate brain death. Is this possible? These are genuine questions to satisfy my own curiosity.
So, I will say, let's give Chauvin the benefit of the doubt. Sweeping faith that he did nothing wrong in his presentation of his body on Mr. Floyd. Just for argument's sake. What convinced me, beyond a reasonable doubt was when the other officer told Chauvin that he didn't feel a pulse. Now Chauvin knows, he's been told, there are now procedures that need to be put into practice. It is at that point he should have started CPR, but what does he do? He says, "Huh". I can't believe this wasn't talked about more. I just can't shake that he said that. He was told, by a fellow officer and he did nothing.
and before that he was told Mr Floyd was going unconscious - I mean in what world would u stay on someone's neck pinning them down when they are unconscious! I sure would not feel safe if police officers were behaving like that around where I live!!!! that would NEVER happen not even to a drug dealer global cartel leader!
Because Chauvin simply didn't care, plain & simple. When he has his knee on Floyd's neck, Floyd stops talking, stops breathing & the cop still has his knee on his neck, IMO, the cop doesn't care. He knew what he was doing. The 1 cop checked for a pulse & told Chauvin, Floyd didn't have a pulse. Chauvin STILL kept his knee on Floyd's neck. The ambulance came & 1 EMT had to tap Chauvin so he could check Floyd's neck for a pulse, Chauvin continued to stay on Floyd. The EMT's brought the gurney over to put Floyd's lifeless body on it. The 1 EMT had to put his hand on Chauvin a couple times before he finally got off Floyd. Chauvin just didn't care 1 bit.
He doesn’t have a conscience. This is a sign of a sociopath. They try to blend in with society, but they truly cannot do it. The sociopath does not make choices with EMPATHY. They murder, lie, steal, beat women& children & even pets. They must be locked away. A certain percentage of people on earth are sociopaths. The research Shows they are drawn to occupations of power where they can harm others & get away with it.
They had absolutely nothing, and ignored most of the stuff in the bodycam footage. Their whole claim was just saying 'we don't believe a lethal dose of drugs would kill him', even though he had just been in hospital 2 months earlier on a lesser amount of drugs.

Same here I watched the entire trial and, I was just impressed with how great they handed this case. Thank you both for a job well done.
@Ems Life it was not the mob what convinced the jury for the result of guilty. It was all the videos they had to watch every time. One step at a time for them to see the violence, arrogance and prepotency of Mr Chauvin. Just because he was wearing a police uniform he thought he was entitled to act violent with no body questioning him
How about having a BLM guy in the jury??
Steve Schleicher ist so eloquent and gets always to the right point.

Every prosecutor defends the state but they can work independently and earn lots of money , as they should job well done 👍🏻
Yes incredible work!! 👍🏽
Wait. Who do they work for then?
I think it is amazing, and speaks to personal convictions, that not only did the lawyers and several of the Prosecutions' experts donate their time in service of justice, they did a spectacular job! They really put in the work, not caring that they did not make a cent, and they presented thorough evidence to back up their findings. I was surprised the defense witnesses were paid as much as they were, Mr. Blackwell and Mr. Schlueser were able to pick apart their theories pretty quick. Those men did a great job for Mr. Floyd!
@@stephw.6539 wow. I did not know that they volunteered to do this work!
Those two prosecutors did an outstanding job in proving their case against Chauvin. He had a chance to do the right thing and get off of George Floyd's neck and he chose to be the judge and jury. He should never be allowed get out of prison.
You both did an absolutely amazing job under very stressful circumstances.
I absolutely adore Mr. Blackwell’s voice.

Ems Life Chauvin is facing charges for doing a teenager the same way he did GF. The only difference he held his knee for a longer period, hitting him in the head 2 times causing lacerations and the teenager didn't DIE!!! MORE EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT HIS VIOLENT BEHAVIOR!!!
@Ems Life the kid had youth on his side and didn't have 2 others with chauvin restraining him.

Mr. Blackwell is a SUPERSTAR LAWYER!.....💚💙💜💛❤
And Steve Schleicher is not????
There was still quite a bit of racism seen - those who saw the video over and over again and still blamed George for his own death - just because he's black, it's nothing to be proud of at all.

That he’s supremacist and/or had mindset of you don’t comply you die and because I’ve gotten away with my ways many times before, I will continue to no matter what OR
2. He’s just high on his own power and had the mindset of I’m in charge, and no one is going to tell me or intimidate me into backing down.
I think and hope it’s #2 in his case..that he was literally too drunk on power to clearly think about the permanency of what he was doing because he was too busy thinking about his ego, his tough image and showing his dominance with the new officers
My opinion is his chances for salvation are better if it’s #2
@Kev Burrows you asked, I answered
These men did their job well!
I pray that we all do our jobs with such dedication.
Amén!!!
This execution of the trial by these lawyers was phenomenal and must be shown in law school
The entire process was very educational. The defense, the prosecution and the judge...just amazing. I even found the jury selection very enlightening.
How do show the part about the media influencing the jury
@@stevea2488 If you go back an listen to jury selection you will understand that the jurors were thoroughly vetted. Not everyone is influenced by media/social media. There are those of us who can listen to the facts presented in court and come to a conclusion based solely on those facts. Not everyone is a sensationalist.
Dream on!!
Optoms, I absolutely agree. I was thinking the whole time this was text book Trial Advocacy.
I loved the work of attorney's Steve Schleicher. He has a beautiful face, very humble and caring person ❤ ♥
They’re both really handsome 🥰🥰😂
The attorney general is like the "brains of the operation," Schleicher is like the "doer" and Blackwell is like the "performer," a la 'Chauvin has a small heart.'
Perhaps some people are more predisposed to seeing the facts of life without infusing emotion.
I was so impressed by Mr. Blackwell.

Blackwell was insane with the crossings of the witnesses. The way he picked Fowler apart was just so brilliant I think I’ll go back and rewatch it some day just for the beauty of it. And with Schleicher I agree with what others said: such a nice and sweet smile and then the toughness hit just out of nowhere 😂
I am also so impressed with Ellison and his devotion and his take on the motive and his compassion and kind heart, being able to say that he felt bad for Chauvin.
Then you research that to satisfy your questions.
As long as I live I will never forget seeing the life leave his body, absolutely heartbreaking

Jerry, Steve, Erin and Mat - thankyou for your incredible work! You were all brilliant.
These guys are rock stars. Well done!
