Man Ethan deserves some respect. Sure he's not the most interesting or loved RE character but he's damn chad. Show's up looking for his missing wife of 3 years after working an IT guy, proceeds to kill an entire family or eldritch horrors. Gets ass, has a daughter, kills more eldritch horrors. Appears in some megamycete shadow realm shit, just kicks one of Miranda's attacks like nothing. Like damn Ethan-. Can't forget bro's only power to was super regenration and that's it.
Technically the ethan that worked in IT is dead, what is see is a bunch of megamycete that thinks it is ethan, similar to how the virus in prototype thinks it’s Alex mercer
The admirable thing about Ethan is that his struggles aren’t related to a job or a mission; all this horrible shit is personal for him. He slogs through nightmare upon nightmares, his body being ripped apart and his mental and emotional state being fucked with over and over, but he refuses to die until he’s 100% sure his family is safe.
He’s got the blandest personality of the Resident Evil protags, but the biggest balls for sure.
Just a shame he didn’t get some action with miss D and her lovely daughters. Instead of chasing round after his ugly wife and her man-hands! Ugliest hands iv ever seen on a woman!

I had a feeling something like this scene would happen, where Rosemary would get the chance to speak with her father.
Even if it was predictable, it was still well written.
Leave it to Ethan Winters to be an uninteresting character but also the biggest chad in this series. Death can't even stop this man from protecting his family.

Whole time watching this and I know Rose doesn't know it but man Ethan went though LITERAL HELL for Rose to be able to avoid that shit and she just stumbles right back into the shit but the ending at least hit very well. I rmemeber playing 7 and had not clue where the story was going but they really made some amazing characters with this arc. Ethan definitely is a great character
Reminds me a lot of Harry Mason. RE7 - Village feels so Silent Hill to me. Even the characters are almost the same.

I think everything Miranda had in this realm is under Her control. Everything except Ethan.

The duke wouldn’t say or do these things, it’s Miranda speaking. It just doesn’t seem in character with him. I like to think the duke wouldn’t do this to Ethan’s daughter after helping him trying to save rose, even if it was for profit.

I don't think so. Same as in Ethan's case, she manifested herself in Megamycete, so this was something like her "avatar" being defeated, so she can return once again and infinitely. But without the crystal, her plans are doomed.

Given the oddity of this DLC, we can presume that Rose retains the power of Eva; but has retained her own identity. This delving of the mind and Stratum borders somewhere between the reality and the hivemind that the Mold has created. Ethan had briefly shared a mental space with the Baker Family before he defeated Eveline; possible that this mental space is the Mold's connected space and we saw portions of those layers and who's connected?
Prior to Rose; Miranda had dominion over the space in the Mold and the megamycede. She had used it to lure Rose into a back-up effort to invoke Eva, and maybe even restore the Megamycede. But due to Ethan's indominable will and Rose's decision to embrace her powers; she puts an end to Miranda and accepts who she is. Though we are left to question if Rose actually plunged into a realm as she returns with Ethan's ring in her hand. A question of what happens next or what lies in store for Rose, the Mold, Ethan's presence in her mind and more.
Rose is gonna be the protagonist of the upcoming RE9!! She got some powers!
Unfortunately I don't think so. I think it was the director who said this DLC was the conclusion of the Winters Family. I really hoped Rose would be RE9's main character but it seems they won't appear, as much they will be mentioned undirectly

Nope. RE9 is likely not gonna follow this as most games take place around the year they're released, along with this acting as the conclusion to the Winters story Arc. While its not impossible to see Rose again in the future, it's definitely gonna take a while
same goes to Jake but we never seen him ever since RE6...cuz playing as a super power people rend the game abit more of action hero than horror game...but who know. if they gonna bring Rose back, she will probably just an NPC. beside i like 1 one like this for the Winter family...we already have alot of cast who can make a return for RE9
The reverence for Ethan people have kinda cracks me up. Don't get me wrong, he's a real hero to his daughter, but the way people speak of him I wouldn't be surprised if he just walked in and someone said "ah, the legendary hero, Ethan Winters... I've heard the stories..."

It's really sad that this DLC was the conclusion of the Winters Family. I was really hyped that Rose would be RE9's main character.
I had the idea that Rose wanted to help Chris resolving the mysteries of the BSAA who was involved with Miranda and in the death of her father
And, at the same time, as Chris wouldn't know in who he could trust in, he could ask for Jill's help
That would be my ideal RE9 history. Especially because Jill could have been investigating about Spencer's studies and she could bring us some light to what is going on with the BSAA, since Spencer and Miranda were in contact.
Also, I would like to see a more specific "end" for the Winters Family since it still leaves an open end and I would like to see if she contacts with Ethan again, if she really accepts her powers, what happens with Chris and the BSAA (since they were helping The Winters Family).
For example, a little talk between Rose and Mia about who is Eveline would be quite nice too ...
RE9 will definitely have Leon, Jill or Chris as the main characters again. The Saga is coming to an end for the OGs.

People tend to be hypocritical when they hate on newer games because of nostalgia, Wesker literally has superspeed/teleporting powers yet you don't see people complaining about that, powers have always been a part of Resident Evil but has scientific explanations and that doesn't change in this dlc.

@@Themountain6197 I don’t think Rose necessarily hates Chris. Although we haven’t seen them interact yet, I get the feeling Chris might be a bit overprotective of her (both out of respect for Ethan’s dying wish and guilt for ironically putting him in danger by keeping him in the dark), wanting to focus on training Rose to defend herself if something happened to him as well. Not to mention we know by now that Chris isn’t the best when it comes to emotional support; his stone cold demeanor probably gave Rose the notion that he just saw her as another lab rat like the rest of the agents.

Went from viruses, to mold, to magic? If you like it great, but Idk man like compare it to the RE movies, as bad as they get you could see a zombie outbreak causing global disaster. Now it just feels like another Tuesday. Isolated events that won’t actually spiral into anything bigger. & well it was all a dream or whatever, it just feels like a different universe than raccoon city.

Always needing to be better than the last invention. We go from the bulky ass phone that needed a human to connect the lines, to what we can hold on our hands today. People are even considering a miniature implant in our brains to preform all that.

When she first enters the Stratum, there were some overlapping voicelines from the main game, mostly folks talking about Rose eg. "Do you have any idea how powerful that kid is?", etc.

1. She just went through hell with Miranda and Eva, fighting other evils inside that thing.
2. It's Chris's fault that Ethan died it the first place. He still had time to go get Ethan before the village was destroyed but didn't rescue him.

How the hell does a crystal in an imaginary dream world have an effect in the real world? The only way this story could theoretically make sense would be using the dream world to figure out where in the real world the crystal would be located which wouldn’t help because everything blew up at the end of village
This was not what I was expecting I thought this was going to take place after the Ending of the main story but it took place when she was growing up witch it still doesn't make any sense on why the duke was the real villain after all
This dlc takes place before she visits Ethan's grave,duke being the villain is just how Miranda saw duke from her pov being HER villain aka her memory of him(aka her memory of him as he was crucial in supplying Ethan with the means and info to stop her plan)which is why duke is like that he is basically a "fragment" of Miranda's memory but modified to fit his purpose

Anyone else fears that RE might become too blockbustery after RE8? Just look at this DLC, we are almost Monster Hunting in here. RE7 was incredibly atmospheric and creepy due to how grounded and minimalistic it was. But I fear that after RE8, which was a nice balance, Capcom may ramp up the paranormal/superpower elements to beat their previous entries, while I would seriously prefer just getting another atmospheric horror piece with a dose of escape room.
